i remember being so attached to the halo trilogy and when arbiter says to lord hood, "were it so easy" i actually teared up. halo has a very strong bond with my childhood and its not explainable to people who didn't connect to it like the rest of us. And im sure i can speak for us all when i say this game is unbelievably intertwined to us all as a whole. i cannot hear the theme or see a cutscene without getting strong goosebumps and a smile created by pure excitement that i dont know how to place elsewhere. The Arbiter's story technically begins in Halo Reach. He was the Supreme Commander who led the attack on the planet. And like he said in Halo 2's prologue, he followed the fleeing Pillar of Autumn to Halo.

Joshua Folkestad the arbiter was one of the covenant commanders that killed the most humans, he glassed a LOT of planets (including reach) and killed humans by the millions. The title of Arbiter was only a vehicle for redemption to him, with its destination being an honorable death. The lives of his comrades, on the other hand, are still worth something to him, hence why he values them more than himself.

Singleplayer games were on the decline at the time (I believe the lowest amount of popular singleplayer games was around 2014) and to just offer the same multiplayer in Halo 4 would have been a huge mistake. I have faith Halo Infinite will go back to its roots because I see people having a taste for more than just action shooters as seen by Red Dead and other RPG's where character development takes the forefront.

I see a lot of people asking why the Arbiter and the other Elites (Sangheili) had to change appearance. The "new design" is actually (according to the lore) a different sub-species of Sangheili. The Sangheili from H4 and 5 are a different variation of the species, in the same way that the Kig-yar are also different. The original versions still exist in the universe. The reason they all appear the same is because it is MUCH easier and cheaper to render the same design in the gane making process. This is why that although in H5 the Arbiter is shown in the "new" design, he is actually still the same as he always was. Stupidly complicated I know but but this is what happens when a studio decides to make changes.

Not really seeings how he killed his own Uncle for his incompetence. It'd be hypocritical for the brute to go against what he had striven for since day one of being looked down upon by the very species who was now telling him it had all been for naught. Read Contact Harvest (again) and realize how well the character was actually written. Faith is not so easily dissolved in those who lead their life by it day in and day out, meal after meal.

i remember being so attached to the halo trilogy and when arbiter says to lord hood, "were it so easy" i actually teared up. halo has a very strong bond with my childhood and its not explainable to people who didn't connect to it like the rest of us. And im sure i can speak for us all when i say this game is unbelievably intertwined to us all as a whole. i cannot hear the theme or see a cutscene without getting strong goosebumps and a smile created by pure excitement that i dont know how to place elsewhere. Joshua Folkestad the arbiter was one of the covenant commanders that killed the most humans, he glassed a LOT of planets (including reach) and killed humans by the millions. Hell he would even show up personally to battle to kill them himself, and yes in reach after u destroy the big covenant ship all the rest that arrive are commanded by arbiter.
Read the books he’s the reason why the halo franchise basically exists.. but to be fair his story starts well and truly before reach 👌🏼

The title of Arbiter was only a vehicle for redemption to him, with its destination being an honorable death. Singleplayer games were on the decline at the time (I believe the lowest amount of popular singleplayer games was around 2014) and to just offer the same multiplayer in Halo 4 would have been a huge mistake. I have faith Halo Infinite will go back to its roots because I see people having a taste for more than just action shooters as seen by Red Dead and other RPG's where character development takes the forefront.

I see a lot of people asking why the Arbiter and the other Elites (Sangheili) had to change appearance. The "new design" is actually (according to the lore) a different sub-species of Sangheili. The Sangheili from H4 and 5 are a different variation of the species, in the same way that the Kig-yar are also different. The original versions still exist in the universe. The reason they all appear the same is because it is MUCH easier and cheaper to render the same design in the gane making process. This is why that although in H5 the Arbiter is shown in the "new" design, he is actually still the same as he always was. Stupidly complicated I know but but this is what happens when a studio decides to make changes.
Another proof of 343's laziness beside nerfing the Forerunners and making inconsistent stories.
Also, why did they redesign Arbiter and few Sangheili when they had redesigned them already in H2A?
