The biggest problem I have with 2k is everybody play the same. Realism or not once people start being “comp” the game stopped being fun because everyone’s builds are the same the sets they run are the same. That’s what makes me crave more a realistic approach to the but as you said it’s a balance
Trust me realism is not the fix for that it’s Actually the opposite The proper fix for it wud be having a diverse balanced archetype system that have different perks and cons Example there shud be valid reason to make a shot creator over every other build but also a valid reason to make a slasher over every other build etc etc make every archetype a unique but balanced experience and well get the fun diverse gameplay we want without ppl playing 1 way

I like realism. I like when things make sense. Problem is 2K literally puts BAD animations in the game and you literally get punished on this game when you play great defence with a bad foul call or the dunk meter coming up when all you did was press the shoot button. It needs to be one or the other. Make it realistic and people would play it, or make it completely unrealistic and let us just dunk on each other and do crazy shit. Problem is 2K mixes them too much and things don't make sense
They had that tho bro nba 2k21 next gen. They let us dunk on everyone 24/7 and then the community complained and said defense don't exist.. so they made the bad animations where u get the dunk and it changed to a layup or you drop the ball. Or throw it from under the basket LOL

and one of the main problems is that 2k22 ( and previous 2ks) isn't a simulation basketball game and its not a arcade Basketball game its a in-between game that just doesn't have a set basis of what the game should be

One thing I always wanted from 2K is for them to update the crowd. The crowd has been bland, they should have celebrity guest show up to games that would be a game changer
Facts they be having all these celebrities in the game let them show up in the home crowd and cheer on the stars like quavo for the hawks
And make the crowd more realistic, change the defense chants, and stop using cheesy music to play in NBA arenas (like use instrumentals from songs while the teams are playing)

Exactly, the crowd gets loud after a steal but then they get quiet when you dunk the ball after getting the steal 😂 The game can be 10 times more fun if the Crowd is more realistic, more loud chants, exc. I want to FEEL the energy of the crowd.

Making the game realistic does not mean to slow the game down. They can add more physics into the game while adding animations that will help counteract the added physics.

The issue isn't whether or not its realistic. There's no reason why a game can't be fun, realistic, and have little to no annoying bugs. The solution isn't to be less realistic, but for the dev team to actually focus on game quality. There are so many persistent issues with the game that don't get fixed because they don't care. Things like CPU teammates sagging so far off Curry that they're under the net.
That just hurt my soul. I haven’t played since 20. I’m not sure if they added a features as far as if you have DEFENSIVE ANCHOR ON HOF you should be able to control the cpu defensively. Shit like that wouldn’t happen.
I personally like the realism. Keep all the arcade stuff in the park. 5 v 5 should be be based on real fundamental basketball.

Speak for yourself man. I want realism. 2K use to strive for that, but like any company that want to maximize profit. They started cater to the lowest common denominator (people who aren’t all that interested in the product). In a nutshell NBA 2K is in the business of making basketball games for people who aren’t all that interested in basketball.
a big problem with realism in 2k is that it involves actually gaining skill such as learning dribble moves, having to know when to shoot or not rather than just shooting it over 3 people cuz you have a 90+ 3 ball, not spamming dribble moves rather making proper reads on a defender, all of these are skills that real basketball players have and can translate to 2k but the casual 2k player doesn’t fw all of that extra jazz they just wanna play
I feel like they can never find the balance. I liked the creativity that came with 2k17 dribbling and the realism of 2k16 defense. They need to make the dunks less real and more fun. It should be easy to shoot if your playing is made to shoot. They need to make it where they find the fun in offense while making the defense realistic so that there is still skill needed to win

@@Flameofblaze7 he is talking about the inconsistencies that 2K has. 2K20 was a little harder to shoot because the meta builds were locks and finishers because they want to make the game seem as realistic as possible. Only problem is that they change the sliders to give one opponent a significant advantage. In all 2K's the user's AI defense will play like they are playing peewee basketball with no IQ, but the AI defense will play like a game 7 finals with the Bulls and Jazz.

2K is NEVER going to be realistic 1. Community wouldn't handle it. I'd give it 3 weeks. 2. Way too Slow and clunky, the game itself can't make it happen. 3. Skill gap would change so dramatically.
If 2k could get the right mix of irl and arcade it be actually fun. I think the defensive aspect of 2k needs some more realistic tendencies

@@jimmyjumpa that is true but in terms of gameplay its not even fun anymore its just do the same moves and pray u get open, or run around screens, id rather just guard a dribble god iso-ing rather than running around screens and playing zone defenses. I remember in the "golden ages of 2k" it didnt matter what jumpshot u had or what signature animations u had, if you knew how to use them, you'd get buckets, i dont even feel like its the same anymore. I just wish every jumpshot had the same green window and all the animations we're just as effective as the same ones eveyone use.

We need a serious update to the way post scorers and scoring bigs play, because right now it’s all 5 out with your pg taking a running fading 3 or pick and roll with your pg taking a fading 3 lol or calling for a random cut for a dunk. We need better center and power forward post play so we can switch it up and teams can play through bigs for once.

I always hated the piecharts i feel like they should bring back archetypes just so we can see some different play styles and not the same line up like in 2k20 where it was playshot with two rebounding wings but like instead of two piecharts put a third so it can round the player off a little more instead of having them be the same name as the 2k19 version or have it like tier system where the first one you pick is what you are best at and the second one you are good at and the third one you ok at and the last one you are below average

The realistic aspect that should be focused on is separating the skill level of these players, I win most of my 2k online games until I play against the KD Warriors, or Giannis because it’s so easy for players to cheese and spam with them. Which shouldn’t be a problem if you’re playing the game the right way and making adjustments, I’ve played too many players who just chuck up unrealistic shots and they keep going in, not to mention when players don’t bench their guys and somehow they never get tired

The only thing I want to be more realistic in 2k are bench/crowd reactions and dribbling. To me, playing in the park is the worst because of the dumb dribble spam and the ease at which ankle breakers are triggered.
If u take that away from dribblers who take the time to learn their players animations then its gonna be so easy to guard them and then everyones going to use the same builds, the ankle breakers yes, the dribbling no
@@awok3nyt166 People already use very similar builds. There's a reason why meta builds, jumpshot videos, and dribble animation videos do well every year. People have a tendency to use what everyone else uses. That's not something that'll magically occur with more realistic dribbling. Watch any hankdatank video or any other person that calls themselves a Dribble God. The animations occur way too fast are way to jerky and are done in way to long of sequences. I would suggest the devs increase stamina drain on animations or slow the animations down.

Nba2k15 is my favorite 2k of all time, I found it the most fun. My problem with 2k now is that they punish tall players too much just for the sake of them being tall. It seems like once you go 6’10 and over, almost all your stats go to shit especially the movement stats even in todays nba where taller players on average are becoming faster and obtaining more gaurd like skills

Idk if im the only person but i have nba2k22 but i deleted it like 2 weeks ago and I've just went back playing old 2k's playing my career, myleague and blacktop just chilling. I dont know why but im having way more fun playing against the hof cpu on old 2k's compared to 2k22, im just tired of this "realism" the game doesnt even feel realistic. I'd rather just have a remastered 2k17 with parks, ratings, facescans and graphics and i would buy it over any of the past 3 nba2k's released. Imo the last GOOD 2k was nba 2k19.

My friend I tried to put on quit cuz all we played against was high level people and so there was little to no progression for him and the skill gap already between him and the players were matching up is crazy I wish there was a low level park, it doesn’t fix the skill gap but it fixes just getting cocked down by 99 ovr opponents
The thing I wouldn't say I like about 2K is that the builds are so expensive why can there be a unique currency for attributes to grind for instead of VC and Cash. Also, I'm not too fond of it when you're about to dunk on someone your force dunk contest-like dunks because those types of fancy dunks are dunks for a fast break, not a poster.

As someone who doesn't really play online I really enjoy this year's 2k. It's refreshing because the game has essentially been abusing the turbo cross for like 5 years straight. I also really enjoyed NBA live as well. At least the ways the bodies collide, it makes highlight plays feel earned and actually special

I don’t even think of it has punishing new people, more like I can only hop on during the weekends for a couple hours and though I’ve been playing for years and love 2k, it gets annoying when I run with randoms or 1 other and a sweaty group of 3 locks, a glass cleaner and a dribble god run a 2-3 zone on you and you rely on people you don’t know to break a zone, (which they never can). Man it does need to be as realistic as possible but I think the park and rec should be tone down a bit, but the play now online, season mode, and just real NBA basketball sim modes definitely need to be sim as possible
They added kick passes on top of guys fading away into the corner for a Green 😂😂 then on top of that I have 90 perimeter defense but guys come down do a crossover or 2 and it just throws me out the way

All the patches are made for the casuals. Every year the good players get punished and the game keeps getting nerfed. 22 next gen was one of my favorite 2ks before they patched all the fun stuff about it

Lets be real, road to 99 was the most balanced as 2k could get. The rewards ran through all game modes and nobody was penalized for not playing park or season. Streams was lit and 2k18 and 19 made alot of 2k youtubers succesful overnight. Nba 2k twitch stream use to have almost 100k viewers on Road to 99. Now it barley hits 15k. Bring back road to 99 and double archtypes. Not fun when everybody a 99, its like losing the superbowl and the losers still get a ring, it dont make sense.
road to 99 is boring and 2k lost a lot of popularity during those times. The rep system in 16 was the best. But 2k needs to find something new and unique anyways.
Also by helping defense mechanically so it’s harder to iso cause imo iso don’t take that much skill.

First of all as you said at 5:15 the reason you get mad If you miss that shot is that there is a "perfect release" window.With that being said there is definitely an identity problem with NBA2K games and that's because the fanbase of the games has changed a lot throughout the years.Back in the day (before park,myTeam etc) the only people that would play 2k would be those that love real basketball and essentially just wanted a simulation of that .On the other hand now a large amount of the 2k community isn't even that evolved with the actual sport anymore and just want a fun videogame.At the end of the day 2K got to make a choice ,either going with a full realistic sim-like 2k (that would need massive rehauls in a lot of areas like passing,dribbling etc ) to even be that or just go with an arcady feeling "sim" game that you know people would enjoy on a more casual level and the skill gap would have to be created by exploiting animations.Also it NEEDS to be noted that a full sim game can absolutely be fun if someone has the passion to learn ,a great example of that is DCS (Simulation of fighter planes etc)where you actually have to learn a huge amount of info about irl planes but eventually leads to an extremely immersive experience.

I grew up with games like Street which is basically what park is. 2Ks main draw has always been it’s a simulation, they stuck with the park bc they got greedy for money. Everything involved wit park pretty much cost vc. I get what Agent is saying with making a more fun arcadey type game. But 2K needs to make Park a completely separate game. And 2K should go back to 2k14

But game like PGA golf2K or Borderlands all have different developers but are both owned by Take Two. I say all that too say TakeTwo has like 10 subsidiaries companies that can make a Park2K. game and just have it be published by 2Ksports. Then the team at Visual Concepts can go back to making just NBA 2K games
