This is a video to compare two different gaming mice, one is expensive, the other cheap. This is the Razer Naga Pro vs Corsair Scimitar. What's the difference between these other than the price? Well, a fair bit, but you shouldn't dismiss the Scimitar.
The Razer Naga Pro ( • Razer Naga Pro unboxin... ) is a seriously awesome mouse with some nifty specs. It's cool because it comes with swappable side plates, which basically means you can customise the number of buttons on it depending on what game you're playing - whether MOBA, MMO, FPS or other. Nifty!

  • Been using my G600 since 2012 and it has just started to give me issues, random disconnects, rgb completely stops working, etc. I thought it was the usb port but it is not (tested on 3 PCs) then thought it was the software so I updated that, again no go. After comparing several MMO mice I chose the Scimitar and not blindly. I went to my local Micro Center and tested several and based on my grip, comfort and ergonomics, thanks for the review.

    • I've used all three of the 'main' MMO mice at some point and while the G600 _feels_ higher quality in the hand due to its weight I also find it to have the worst side button panel out of the three. The buttons are simply too 'tactile' and require too much force to press as opposed to the mechanical switches the other two mice use for their side panel. The mixture of the higher weight and stiffer side buttons tires your hand/wrist out pretty quickly.

  • While I absolutely love the naga, been using it for years, I've gone through 5 of them. I do not abuse my mouse and I take care of my stuff. However, I've had many issues with them. Two of my mice ended up having issues with the left click. For example, if I was playing an FPS game and I would hold down left click and my gun would fire and then stop and then fire again. The mouse thought I was letting go of left click while i wasn't. The other 3 mice ended up having issues with the laser. I would pick up the mouse and my cursor would jump up. Like if I had my cursor in the middle of my screen and I picked up my mouse, the cursor would jump to the top of the screen. Because of this, I just ordered the scimitar pro. I hope it works better.

It's super annoying. Have had bad luck with Razer in the past but I am going to give the Naga Pro a shot. The wireless and blue tooth so I can control my 2nd computer with the same mouse is a game changer. Hopefully I don't regret swapping.

After a couple of hours of use I started to have problems with the side panel, I have returned it and I am going to try it with the corsair that I have never had one and with the previous razer I also had problems with the button (after a long time of use). Perhaps the pro version of the razer naga is more solid, there are also about 50 euros difference between the naga pro and the naga trinity or the scimitar. So my decision after what happened to me with the trinity is going to be the corsair scimitar

  • I've used the same second hand razer naga for about 8 years now. It has served me well, about a year or so ago the scroll wheel became sensitive and this year one of the side buttons have stopped working and the mouse occasionally random disconnects and needs to be replugged to work again. The time has come for a replacement, and i have just purchased the scimitar elite for 49 quid from PC world. Not paying near 80 quid for a bloody razer naga thats gonna do the exact same shit this one ive got now is doing. I would of still been team razer if the options were cheaper or i felt that price was justified. NGL tho idk how some people have broken their nagas after a year of use etc. Ive played wow throughout the past decade so my naga has definitely seen use, alongside the occassional rage slam from league of legends. I'd still be able to continue using this naga for another couple years or so i reckon, but the frayed wire protection makes me think its time for a change.

  • I got the normal Naga Trinity 2 years ago and that bish is dead. Guys, don't get the Naga. I know it looks amazing and the side panels are awesome but yours will probably break after a year or less. It'll start with the left/right mouse buttons double clicking and then you can't drag a window around your desktop... if you use it for MMOs, you won't be able to look around with right click, you won't be able to walk with LB clicked, etc. It's horrible for that price. Also, when I got my Naga Trinity, the side panels wouldn't work properly and I had to really press them into the mouse so that they would connect. I often had them disconnect when I was in the middle of a raid, etc. I know the PRO looks enchanting... but don't get mesmerized by it T_T

  • The Naga Pro is easily more than 2x the price of the Corsair, yet it's only rated for 20 million more clicks than the Corsair (70 vs 50). It's definitely slightly better than the corsair in terms of build quality, but it isn't that much - much of the appeal is the gimmicks (which aren't a bad thing) that the Naga has. But for the price I think you're definitely being overcharged by Razer since it only has 20 mill more clicks than the corsair, that will probably extend the life by 4 to 6 months but for the price you could get 2 of the Corsairs.

  • I have had enough of Razer's software! I have about 4 naga trinitiy's wired and wireless and just love the design and I find the switches they use very satisfying. I only use the 12 button plate and I even moved one of the top buttons over to the side. Drilled a hole, soldered wires between the mouse switch and a cherry low profile blue switch and plopped a keycap stem on it. It's my hypershift. I use it daily for work and don't understand why more people don't use an mmo mouse for productivity. BUT, i've been putting up with this horrible software for way too long now. The thing updates almost daily, you would think they would fix the bugs by now. Not only that, everytime it asks me if I want to keep local setting or cloud settings I feel like i'm playing russion roulette. I cannot tell you how many times my long list of macros were mysteriously converted to "Sequence". And the connectivity issues. Just today, my mappings reverted to defualt. Synapse was running. The right profile was engaged. But default button mappings. I'm going to pick up a corsair after work. Thanks for your comparison. I found it very helpful. And apologies for the long rant.

  • I used the original Naga for years, been through two or 3 of them, loved them enough to keep replacing them with the same mouse. Minecraft will use up your limited left mouse clicks pretty quickly. I have recently picked up the Scimitar, and I have some thoughts. I find it easier to know which thumb buttons I'm pressing on the Naga, the raised lines were more obvious to me than the texture on the Scimitar's buttons. I also do miss the side press on the wheel, that was my autorun in Guild wars 2. While I do play GW2 with these, I find they really shine in Minecraft, and also in FPS games for weapon selection. With that in mind, the 6 button plate on the Naga looks like it would be excellent for FPS gaming. The fact that you can slide the thumb buttons on the Scimitar seems like a useless gimmick to me. On the Naga, Razer put them in the correct place to begin with.

I have a bunch of them, the Scimitar mouse, a keyboard, the HS80 headset, and the silly rgb headset stand that basically does nothing, because it garbles the audio if I plug the adapter for the HS80 into it rather than straight into my pc. I like some of the hardware alright, but oh man, do I ever hate the Corsair iCUE software. It fails so frequently for me. I pretty regularly have to disconnect and reconnect my mouse or keyboard, or restart my pc, to regain full function of my devices. It's pretty infuriating. • How's it going with the Naga Pro? I've had Scimitars the past few years, 2 of them the scroll wheel stopped working. I tried a Naga Trinity in 2019 and it was double-clicking right out of the box so I bought another Scimitar and it's left clicks are not as cripsy as they used to be. I'm just waiting for double-clicks or something to stop working any day.

  • corsair is the winner because the textured side keys make finding them much easier so you'll get better gameplay, wireless is pretty worthless anyways since batteries eventually die and just adds weight to the mouse

    • @@vivelafrance8400 As somebody who is using one of them right now, the G600 has its own problems. It's well built and sturdy, but the problem is its heavy weight and the stiffness of the side buttons. The G600 doesn't use mechanical switches for its side buttons, it uses tactile buttons which require more force to actually press down. The sniffness of the buttons and the weight of the mouse itself is not a good combo and your hand/wrist gets tired real quick because you're basically having to clench the thing to hold it in place when you press those buttons. I even opened it up and took the lead weights out but it's still pretty heavy. I'm not a fan of Razer products in general, but as somebody who has at some point owned all of the 3 main MMO mice I'd still say they make the best one of the bunch.

    • @@VojtaSantiag0 build quality id say the Scimitar. It also feels slightly better in hand to me. But the Razer naga trinity/pro has better sensor tracking, as some of the scimitars skip every 2nd pixel, making it very jittery. Im not quite a Razer fan, but i love my naga for mmo's. If i were to pick one, it would be the Naga, because the software is alot more stable and the sensor doesnt skip pixels.
