As a goalie I can say that we absolutely hate facing odd pucks. We’ll face 3-4 of these a night normally, and if the puck has ~1% chance of going in, you can do the math that every 25-35 games one will find it’s way in and there’s very little you can do about it. The fact that it’s not impossible combined with it’s unfortunate frequency in most games means we can’t exactly avoid these mishaps. Nobody cares when you save 99 of them, they only care when you don’t save 1.

Yup, I remember having a good stretch of games in a ball hockey tournament and it felt like I could do no wrong… till we lost our knockout game because it took a weird bounce off my blocker and slowly went in. I saved over 75 shots in those three games and I only let in five goals in that span but I still got to shoulder the blame when I could have easily called out my teammates for their play. I had teammates, afraid to block shots, try to blindly block shots when they’re just impeding my vision. I had teammates that were slower than the top line of most teams in that tournament. Everybody blames me for that one bad goal when they probably don’t realize that it was hard for me to even get us that far with what I had to work with.

@@ghost-whitesand9447 the other part of goaltending is a beautiful contrast from being a player in terms of your team. When it’s an important game, or important moments happen, you’re the furthest person on the ice for your teams victories and the closest person to the failures. The overtime loss? You’re the final person the other team beat before it’s over. Your team wins? They all congratulate the game winner at the other end of the ice. They’ll never have your back on a bad goal but they’ll only “WHOOAAA” for a second when you make a great save. Toughest position in all of sports.

But there were also funny options, for example kicking the ball backwards next to your own goal with the defensive line, picking up the rebound with the goalkeeper and maneuvering the ball again against the boards in such a way that the goalkeeper balances the ball horizontally on his foot, then a quick turn forward and the ball flies over the lines of friend and enemy and with luck it lands in the opponent's goal. There was one by a former Oiler goon - i think Steve McIntyre.. a point slapshot that was like 20mph that squeaked through
So... johnny quick is the most shown goalie letting these shot in.. interesting
how have I not seen all these! incredible stuff
Thank you! I try my best to do research on my videos.
David Kampfs goal against Buffalo last year should be here! Maybe the slowest goal of all time
Hehe, watching this makes me remember when getting tired of playing the NHL games and adjusting the bounciness of the puck to silly fun levels, hah.
you should do wrap around goals, Michigan's, or iconic breakaway moves (jyes, ik youve already done something like it).
this is the greatest video of all time
These are the hard shots in my beer league.
guess he wasnt Quick enough
Forgot if this was Oilers game, but there was one where a player took a shot from the point, but god a bad stick on it, and it just slowly roles past all the players and past the goalie, curious if anyone has a link to that one.
I believe you forgot about all the slojo goals by Ryan Johansen with the predators in the shootouts lol
That’s another type of slow goals I should do haha
Can you make one of these with the worst "If you're a goaltender, tend the goal" errors?
That's Steve Dangles bit from sdpn
I really thought Claude Giroux's goal from last year against Vegas would be on here, but a great compilation nonetheless
Watching this video is like when you're trying to throw punches in your dreams. You put in the full force but the result is slow motion.
the funniest part is - tho NHL standard slow , these shots are still pretty fast for the average person lmao
1st clip too funny
7:02 I remember that deflect goal and it was quite funny.
Crazy how many of these happened in the playoffs
The chip was actually amazing
"...the off-speed pitch, the batter will swing early every time!" - Kenny DaGuuch
Always finish your video with Laffs, thank you.
I'm sad that you left out Old Man Mike Smith's 135 footer from the last BoA.
as a King fan am I surprised to see Quick on here multiple times? no.
Rebound off the boards went in 😂
Clicked this for Toskala. Didn't dissapoint.
if you make another, tofolli 2021 playoffs, round 3 game 2
You missed the 75 ft lob on Mike Smith, in the 2nd round of the 2022 playoffs against Calgary...as an EDM fan, that one was hard to watch even when it happened...LOL.
The puck movement wasn’t slow enough
There is a good number of these goalies that have their name on Lord Stanley's Cup.
2:55 is definitely the most unfair
I hope all those goalies watch this video. It goes to show it can and does happen to everyone.
need to stack the pads
I felt like about 1/3s of these plays shown happened in the playoffs. That’s a tough way to give up a goal in the playoffs
That’s a Dang it
These hurt so much to watch lol. This is my fear in every game, that I'm gonna let in a stupid slow one lol Some of these you can't blame the goalie tho. Bouncing pucks absolutely suck, and you can't read a shot that wasn't even supposed to happen.
You should try the fastest shots!
6:05 it looks like the stick blade just whacks the goalie in the face that's golden, good shit
Quick loves to give up bad goals lol
Suddenly, my div 10 beer league goalies don't seem that bad. I witness this all the time.
Next video idea: Broken stick goals

delta highlight i wanted u to know i'm a huge fan
and a flyers fan
So glad to not see my beloved blue jackets in this one lol
Poor Cam
The last one inspired by Tree
0:42 happened to me in my last game😅
I have a video idea: "Where's the puck? ... SCORE!!" (e.g. Kevin Bieksa's series winner against San Jose in the West Final of the 2011 Playoffs)
2010 cup winner, too. aka: the most anti-climactic cup-winning goal in NHL history.
2:52 whitdog skating into his teammate
Mike smith got off easy on this one
As a goalie, I do not like this 😂
I'm pretty sure every goalie has given up one of those types of goals at least once in their career
@@leifopstad2972 100% I had a BAD one happen just last year. Shot/pass from center, not bouncing or rolling at all, etc. Went to play it and totally whiffed on the puck, it barely had enough speed to cross the line but still made it. Just awful
@@leifopstad2972 Especially those with high degrees of self-confidence, it seems. Notice how it was almost all world-class goalies whiffing these?
David Krejci game 1 of 2013 eastern conference final
If you didn't know anything about hockey you would think Quick was the worst goalie in history after watching this.
if i were a goalie, id cry. id just sit down in the crease and cry. right then and there.
Hi delta, missed you bud! How’s it goin?
It's going well, I'm excited for the NHL season to get going again! How have you been recently?
@@DeltaHighlightsbeen really good recently! Getting a new kitten Sunday :D great to be back, and I’m excited for the upcoming season too! Great to hear from you ^^
@@VentureCAMthat’s awesome to hear! What’s your kittens name?
2:35 was a broken stick but wasn’t a slow shot though…
I could play in the NHL!
It's happened 3 times to Quick in this video
So funny that a guy literally named "Quick" let so many slow ones through.
