  • It amazes me that they can get a camera angle on a croc chasing a wildebeest under water.

    • They probably filmed the scenes in a safe environment and then put it into the documentary as a lot of close up scenes are done on a set, they wouldn't risk a diver in those rapids getting trampled or taken by a croc

    • They film the underwater scenes in a separate safe environment, and add the that footage to the documentary later. They have a crocodile actor that they work with. He's a trained professional. Director: ok Jeremy, I'm gonna need you to just sink to the bottom of the pool with your head tilted up. Gary's gonna film your feet. Crocodile: yeah, I don't like how deep this water is, and tilting my head like that gets water up my nostrils... Director: I don't pay you to think. Get in the f***ing pool and act like a crocodile. That's not asking for much. Crocodile: you still haven't even paid me for the last shoot we did..

    • Crocs are ambush hunters that prefer to attack from below. When swimming with crocs, the surface is the worst place you could possibly be.

  • “They are intelligent hunters, plotting their attack with precision.” He’s absolutely right, the intelligence of crocodilians is not talked about enough. Something interesting about Nile crocodiles, as shown in the video, is the fact that they are social, and they will indeed work together (which is rare as most crocodilians are solitary); Nile crocodiles are among the most social of all reptiles.

  • The father of one of my wife's friends did a lot of filming this stuff,retired now and a very knowledgeable and modest man.I went to their house once for a party and was blown away by the staggering amount of stuff he had,rooms full of equipment,film and photographs,stunning pictures too, What a life!

  • What I find more interesting is how a hippo can be in the middle of a feeding frenzy of crocs and yet the crocs won't attack it. Instead they eat the dead hippo.. That interaction is fascinating.

Well I may be wrong but I think he was down there messing with that thingy and got speared when that barb struck vital organ. When that barb go in you it dosent cone out without tearing something up. His luck ran out and his number was up.

  • I remember hearing about a canoeist who was taken by a Croc in the few seconds that his friend looked away. His friend said there was very little commotion and that all he heard was a small splash and when he turned around to talk, his best mate was gone... Canoe and all! 😲 I have now come to an understanding with Crocodiles and Hippos... If they stay out of my garden, I'll stay out of their water! 😄

  • 1:15 bats can even catch fish like that at night, in complete darkness. They see what is in the water by ultrasonic sound. They even can calculate whether this fish is too heavy to take it out of the water. Everything measured with ultrasonic sound.

How was he sure there were no other crocs around or below that he could have ran into. I have no idea how he got that close to the croc without it pursuing him or his camera team. Makes no absolute sense.
