Will it destroy the rim after the paint wear off ?
@buddy Just a few questions: I gotta wonder about the durability and longevity of painting with cans and not using a strong 2-part poly clear? Next, why are you using bumper/trim paint which I would think is optimized for plastic and not metal? Rustoleum has plenty of automative paint options too and now there are supposedly paint shop quality cans and 2-part poly clear available in cans too. Why not use those? Just curious.
I DONT LIKE BLACK RIMS

😂😂😂😂
I love how you just get to the point, so many KZhead videos I got to skip like 5 minutes to start
Haha that was my main motivation to start a youtube channel! Not enough QUALITY automotive channels on youtube!
Exactly
Couldn't have said it better.
Agreed!
Lol
Got a tip for y'all here to Mask off the tires - use DISHWASHING LIQUID SOAP! Paint this all over the tire - LET IT DRY go ahead and spray the rim - (dont worry about going over the tire!) When the paint dries hose off or pressure wash off the dish soap it will lather up taking all the extra paint with it! GO AHEAD try it. Used this method hundreds of times, cheap and easy! GREAT VIDEO BUDDY!
Dude thank you so much people, when I was painting my rims everyone doubted me and didn't believe it would work or was gonna last but when I was done they were so surprised.thanks for the diy tutorials. Please keep doing what you do.youre making a difference!💯
well given your response I take it they came out awesome. Good stuff man💪

Hey @buddysDIY Thanks a bunch for ur vids! My only question would be, can I go directly to the alcohol step if it’s new wheels that I don’t like the colour of ?
Thanks for these to-the-point DIY videos. My 15 years old Son and I had a great time restoring his factory wheels. This method worked perfectly as you already know. Awesome video.
So many other videos don’t say how many cans of paint, primer, and gloss you need, but you had it all laid out very clearly. Hopefully gunna get this done as soon as I make time.
This the best video I’ve seen hands down, you go thru every detail and don’t leave nothing out, great job man!
The best DIY videos out there!!! Thanks bro 😎 . You’re awesome .👏 The way you explain everything step by step always keeping safety in mind and also indicate why you use certain products is extremely helpful. Great job.👏
I showed mechanic buddy brake caliper trick as he already did his rims....now we doing mine....he got all the tools ,including hydraulic tire remover ...thank you. LOOKS MUCH BETTER .
Nice job for a rattle can finish. Im a professional painter by trade and just rattled canned a roof rack for my truck. Anything can be done with anything!!! Beautiful job my friend!!!
I really appreciate how straightforward this tutorial was I was really happy to not have to sit through a 30 minute intro explaining a bunch of bs And more importantly following everything that you said it came out amazing it was very cheap and worth it 10/10
well said.
As always, easy to follow, quick and to the point. Very well done video.
Appreciate it nick
Bro I just gotta say how you made this video Is perfect, no bs just to the point. You’ve earned my respect and subscription without even asking. Keep up the grind bro 💪🏼💯
I love you DIY's and I'm hooked after the 1st two video's on painting calipers and wheels. Love that you get right to the nitty gritty of things.
Finally a guy who makes it so simple and easy to understand. Well done mate. From OZ.
I just found your channel and I love the 2 videos already; painting the caliper & the tire rims! Great job and well done.
How’d it come out
That is the best intro to a video EVER. Just straight to the point
I had the same rims in the same condition.. this video helped me fix them and get them looking BEAUTIFUL
Very creative with index cards. I was for sure you were going to fold them back over the tires though..lol Love watching how you did this from beginning to end. I looked outside at my rim's and want to do mines now..lol.
I’ve NEVER wanted to subscribe to a channel as much as yours. Thanks for everything you’re posting!!! Cheers, my friend!!
Appreciate that brother! I do my best!!
Thanks, brother...just bought a car to do up for my daughter's 17th and after watching your videos, I have the confidence to do all these cosmetic jobs myself safely and save that all important money. I have an innate distrust of garages due to my own ignorance (and fear) of all things car maintenance...but you're helping me along the way. Quoted £610 to refurb and paint my diamond cut 17" rims and the calipers both in semi gloss Matt)...but I'm gonna do it myself now... thanks again 👊 Gonna put a brand new engine in for her and bring the clock back to zero... but will leave that to the professionals!
how did this work for you? is it still holding up strong?
The caliper painting is crucial too... Big improvement to modernize the car. Great work.
I have to say I followed step by step and it came out fantastic! def recommend
Very informative video. Straight to the point . I love the finish on the brake calibra. You speak very well an clear. Your English teacher will be proud of you .
Haha thanks mate!
Thanks man, about to paint my truck rims black. Definitely going to use your technique. 🤙
This is awesome mod. I’m deff trying this on my 06 accord wheels. I got the same design and once they get painted black they will look awesome with the silver exterior
Excellent video. I just watched your video on how to paint brake calipers. I love how you get right to the demonstration without the B. S. Like other videos. Thank you!!
I love how fast this dude is. No bs … goated
Love how detailed your videos are
Thanks! More to come!
What a great video. Right to the point. Very impressed with the outcome. Black will look awesome on my silver F150.
Cheers, best video I've seen of this process so far ... succinct and to the point. Dam, England
Man thanks, I appreciate your advice and your honesty, appreciate you brother
This is the best!! And the caliper video 👌 thanks! God bless you brother 🙏🏽
From Steve. I learned a lot from you about how to paint rims and which paint is best to use, thank you BRO. ✌🙂
Simple tutorial and it’s pretty easy to follow 👍🏼
Very good video. To the point and easy to follow without getting bored. Good job.

Sheesh had to subscribe. Going to do this to my 370Z stock rims this weekend. You made it look easy.. Hoping I don’t mess it up.

As anything else, it's all in the prep! Great video!
I love trim and bumper paint but never thought of using it on rims. Might give it a try. Thank you. Just subbed.
Bro, your video was spot on and right to the point, thank you….
Amazing videos man. I'm devouring your content. Don't you dare stop!

Great idea with the index cards! Great job!
Thanks a lot for this video bro. Means a lot to us diy starters. I like the stock color better tho. Just need refresh
"I really appreciate how straightforward this tutorial was I was really happy to not have to sit through a 30 minute intro explaining a bunch of bs And more importantly following everything that you said it came out amazing it was very cheap and worth it 10/10"
Thank you for sharing and be so straight to the point and clear and helpful tips. I'm gonna do do my wheels and calipers. I've ordered the paints and can't wait to get on with it. I was a bit unsure of how to do it but after watching your videos I found inspiration. Thanks man
How did that go
Good video. Something else that works for old clear and paint, Aircraft Stripper u can buy at any parts store. Just use gloves and paper towels and used rag bag. Well vented area. Bubbles up the clear and paint super easy in a few minutes. Then Simple Green 45/55 Water mix to clean after. Let dry and ready to go. Less elbow grease this way
Great video! Ill be doing my rims next Saturday. I was hoping to see you use the wire brush in comparison with the sandpaper. I was debating renting a small 5" orbital sander to make the sanding a bit easier until I saw your wire brush as I already have a high end drill.
Wire brush forsure man. Sand after with 400 nd careful not to put super deep scratches with the brush
Congrats mate! Great channel, useful tips straight to the point. Cheers from Greece
Appre it man! I'm actually greek myself!!
@@BuddysDIY Oh for real!!! I saw the tatt and it kind of crossed my mind but didn't know! Man I'm sure the channel will do really great if you keep up like this!

How’s the paint holding up 3 years later?
Hey man great job , you really enjoy what you do thanks.
brilliant idea with the index cards
Thanks for the video...quite handy. I am abt to paint my wheels and that should help.
Mate what a precision, perfect and beautifully ececuted…
When you were sanding the wheels in the beginning, would you recommend using the wire brush to make the job faster or using the sand paper grids like you did in the video?
Just subscribed, thanks for the good videos! I like how you even remind the people to pull the e brake! Nice stuff
Appreciate that man! Takes alot of work but comments like your make it worth it!!
@@BuddysDIY Im doing one at a time, I actually started this morning after watching your video. Is one can of spray paint enough for just one wheel?
@@BuddysDIY just went through the comment and found the answer to my question, thanks either way!

I have factory gloss black rims and while you can’t deny they do look superb they’re also the hardest to keep clean and scratch free lol
Another awesome video, easy to follow and great tips.

Good job on the rims I’m gonna do mine on my Ford F150
Super clean finish. Great video
Thanks Julia
Nice bro! Solid helpful content!
Thanks for posting this! Any suggestions for dry time between coats or before going to paint other than what's on the can? Thanks
Easy,pretty,confident!
Yes sirr!
Well done! No BS !
Damn dude, it's like watching myself do this lol. Been working on our Pontiac torrent and busting my ass with upgrades. Bought it from a granny. I started it with a Flowmaster. Then from there of course it went to throwing in 6,000 watts, tinting the windows, blacking out the inside of the headlights, shaving the roof rack, custom fiberglass interior, and a whole bunch of other shit. Decided to order drilled/slotted rotors and ceramic pads (black) and I need to keep going and found your vid doing exactly what I want. I'm in need to do shocks and struts, of course I'm thinking I want adjustable coilovers So I can slam it in the summer, and lift it back up in the winter. Eventually want some 20/22's, but I'm broke at the moment lmfao. Noticed you were using the same jack, and same color car too. 😆 Chris Fix ain't got shit on you, bro.
Did mine exactly like this and they’ve lasted for years this guy is legit
Wow! Thanks for sharing 😊
Nice job!! How long did it take per wheel?
‼️‼️Great video! Wondering did you end up putting the high gloss finish on or just the trim and bumper paint? Love the way it came out just wondering if I need the high gloss finish?
thats whats up i did similar to my 97 prelude factory wheels aslo added a red painted honda h and a red stri0e around wheel lip.
I have the same slippers! Lol. Great video!
Great job! Would you recommend a clear coat at the end.
Looks great. My question...How and what product to clean the rims? Thanks!!
Did you buy new lugs or paint the old ones. Did you have to protect the threads? Thanks, great video!
Very practical and understandable. Not like some other youtubers crapping useless words to make 10 mins thing half hour.
This comment here is why I made a youtube channel.
@@BuddysDIY Good on you bro
Gonna try it this weekend so let’s go
If u want a really glossy look use the EASTWOOD 2k aerosol clear or SPRAYMAX 2k aerosol clear
