“Brendan Frasier for one scene? Why?” Lmao even Screen Junkies realize not using Frasier more is a big mistake.
it was directed by the director of the mummy. its called a cameo dumb dumbs.
Stephen Sommers wanted Frasier, but his schedule wouldn't allow it, so he asked him to do a cameo. He's Rick O'Connell's grandson, so Sommer's Mummy trilogy is tied to his G.I. Joe movies
Not using Frasier? Was Kelsey Grammer in this somewhere!? (Sorry, I'm just amazed that _every_ comment somehow got "Fraser" wrong.) Bren-DAN FRAS-er. No 'i's anywhere.)
(Though maybe I shouldn't talk, since it would not be unfair to say that I should spend less time worrying about how other people spell Fraser, and more time figuring out which syllable gets the emphasis in "Brendan".)
@@mediapreviewer Really? "According to the director's commentary on the DVD, Fraser begged director Stephen Sommers to be in the movie, making it his fourth collaboration with Sommers after The Mummy franchise."
Brendan Frasier could have definitely given a boost to the franchise, UNDERUTILIZED!!
I bet Brendan Frazier was begging them to just leave him on the cutting room floor .
Pure truth bro
Did the writers or producers not see The Mummy series of films? C'mon
@@kadosho02 Stephen Sommers's the director of The Mummy and Rise of the Cobra, so there're Arnold Vosloo (Imhotep) and Fraser (just cameo it's suck).
Omg yeeeeessssssss
The kid fights are really well done, the child actors really put a great amount of effort and energy into the choreography. Hats off to them.
The kid practiced on Jack Black in Tropic Thunder
The other kid was the main guy in Kickin It
@@ThatGuyWithAComment what's that
*K I L L F I G H T*
It’s shot a little blandly, but the performances are rad
If Retaliation was better than Rise of Cobra, and Snake Eyes is better than Retaliation, that means we're only... five more reboots away from a good GI Joe movie!
What about the animated one from the 80s? Are you telling me the rich tapestry of Cobra-La wasn't masterful storytelling?
@@sailordaigurren8225 He probably doesn't consider anything without live action to a real movie. It isn't for adults unless it has real people on screen. My mother has this attitude.
@@nobodyimportant2470 TBH, I was largely being sarcastic...
The movies are all right. Fast and Furious is A WAY worse and they're a hit, USA audience makes no sense
@@TheLordMaker Fast and Furious is really popular outside of the US too though
I haven't watched the movie in a decade, and now I just realized that Brendan Frasier was only in one scene?! No wonder I never remembered it!
watched the movie twice still don't remember seein' him
I have a lot of nostalgia for The Mummy (1999), but I personally think Fraser's strengths lie in his comedic acting. You should really check out Blast from the Past and George of the Jungle (1997).
@@catdogmousecheese loved Blast from the Past and George of the Jungle.
@@catdogmousecheese Killed it in Scrubs also.
@@primefamous Blast From The Past is such a great movie
The "Sadly this is the best part of the whole franchise" was too hilarious.
Also, accurate.
@@poncho7626 exactly. Snake eyes and Storm Shadow were the only good parts.
Not wrong though lol
@@neeljavia2965 ironically better than the Snake Eye origin film itself
@@quakethedoombringer Exactly
Are we gonna ignore the fact that the movie had both Imhotep and Rick O'Connell?! They should've been the lead guys in the franchise.
Sommers likes finding roles for pals, so yeah, Vosloo, Fraser, and O'Connor were a given. I was actually looking for Patricia Velasquez (Anck Su-namon).
And also the Scorpion King!
The 1st GI Joe also had Lock-Nah. Ardeth Bay's nemesis in the Mummy Returns.
Benny was Dr. Mindbender in the first one, so that was at least 3 from The Mummy@@epbrown01
That was because Stephen Sommers directed Rise of Cobra. So he was personally respondible for casting those two.
Fun fact: The director of the first G.I Joe film directed The Mummy and the sequel, hence why Brenden Fraser is in the movie and mostly some of the cast including his buddy Beni!
It's also the second time, Dwayne Johnson has "taken" over from Brendan Fraser.
Fun fact: you just read fun fact
@@Finderup16 Yeah, with the sequel to "Journey To The Center Of The Earth."
"So before you scroll past Snake Eyes on some streaming service..." So accurate!
If you haven’t noticed they tend to do most movies that come to Netflix, that way there’s lots of current interest in it
It is literally the most generic film out of all of them. At least Rise of Cobra has some creativity to it.
"He's a lost member of The Wu-Tang Clan." I am 100 percent okay with that.
I’m still in shock thinking about how that “out of the picture line” made it into a Hollywood big budget film
"Inspector Harrison has an annoying habit of disrupting my arrangements." "Would you like to have him... removed, sir?" "Perhaps, yes. Perhaps it would be better if he were... taken out of the picture." "Sorry, guys, you're doing it again. 'Have him removed'? 'Taken out of the picture'? I thought we agreed at the last meeting these terms were needlessly ambiguous. We agreed that if we wanted someone murdered, i.e. deliberately killed to death, then that's what we would say."
@@bificommander7472 is this a quote from a cartoon?
Really not gonna acknowledge how Storm Shadow was definitely killed in the first, tossed down an arctic shaft into the arctic sea thousands of feet below the ice shelf which falls onto the facility, and yet he still survives like Palpatine in the Star Wars sequels just for the next movie's redemption plot to be centered around him lol
"Somehow, Storm Shadow returned."
Well, they didn't realize how much of a star in Asia the actor playing Storm Shadow was until they premiered there. Then, the producers stepped in... probably.
The "Shhh I'm hunting Cobwas" line was great
LOL... I was rolling!
I rewatched like 10x haha
I lost it at that point. Took me 5 mins to stop laughing. Awesome.
@@heathb4319 yea I had a big laugh at that line. The rest was ok but that one line was just too good.
@@IkePaz me too. That was a good one
“sadly, this is the best part of the franchise” dang i couldn’t agree more
Honestly, I hated that scene. I thought the camerawork was too shaky, the editing too choppy, and the kids just wouldn't stop shouting!
"Inventor of the fidget spinner" was brilliant 🤣
Nothing to do with the Movies, but GIJOE toys were my absolute jam. I spent every cent I had on them for many years. They eventually got stored away into giant totes. A few years back, I gave everything that was still alive to a very good friend's kids. At one point, it was hundreds of guys, 25+ vehicles, most crotches and thumbs intact; Every Snake-eyes, Storm-shadow, Cobra Commander variation, and countless other guys, Rolling Thunder, just a TON of mid-late 80's stuff. Those boys still tell me to this day that they play with them every day. They'll outgrow them soon, but hopefully some future child gets to use them and they're passed down again. My older brother and I would spend hours preparing every guy and vehicle for all-out war; equipping each unit with the appropriate ordinance. Often by the time we were done, we'd have lost the urge to even play and just spend another half hour putting everything away haha. Good times.
Do Loki honest trailer, It's a glorious purpose
It already happened, but in another timeline.
Snake Eyes origin: "A lost member of the Wu-Tang Clan". IMO that would be a better movie in every way.
FACTS!!
I'm gonna sew Storm Shadow and keep feeding him and feeding him 😅😅😅😅
@@ScorpionKING-qn2er and Rza is a legit martial artist too
@@thepubknight6144 I know, I'm from Staten Island.....
"...Team America, also before your time?" i was not ready to hear that
Honest trailer of team america needed.
SJ/HT - Ok you know that REALLY old movie Team America? Viewers born before 1990 - Jesus Tony, how old is this guy!?!
Thank you for acknowledging the women of this franchise.
Honest Trailer Loki.. Comeon it's time for a glorious purpose.
LOL I’d like to know how that quote from Spider-Man 3 became a meme
They can't, it's too burdensome.
@@bullymaguire9987 give me rent...
@Lucifer Indeed, especially since we got the Pitch Meeting
I'm sure they're working on it.
They just don't understand what fans of G I Joe liked about G I Joe. The odd personalities, the silly catchphrases, Cobra Commander's incompetence and the yelling of our team names: YO JOE! COBRA!
That’s what the first movie was, so I don’t get the complaints
They also want to do origin stories for everything. Just give us the Joe's, fighting Cobra. Who cares how we got here.
@@ninjanibba4259 uh uh nobody yelled COBRA once, I watched for it, the personalities were generic and uninteresting and they turned Cobra Commander into a freaking scientist played by JOSEPH GORDON LEVITT! NOT MY JOES!
@@MrEtherOck that sounds like nitpicking, you didn’t actually expect for it to be translated perfectly on screen? The movie was popcorn fun and memorable at least
It sounds like everything desired in the initial comment was left out, even if the movie was popcorn fodder.
"A lost member of the Wu-Tang Clan" That made me literally lol 😆
That RZA character introduction with the "keep feeding 'em, and feeding 'em" (METHOD MAN torture intro) is a real DEEP Wu Tang Cut, kudos to you guys
Wu-Tang is for the kids you know
Brendan Fraser for one scene always irritated me. I wanted him to go face with the guy who played Ihmotep again
My god.....the possibilities.
Someone tell me there’s fanfiction at least!
@@gpc_4279 Yes.The possibilities indeed, my friend
@@barbarajoseph-adam8337 I mean there's gotta be. Somewhere out there! Lol
I mean, they could have put him in the sequel where he had a fight scene with they guy who played Ihmotep (and died heroically in the process). They could have sneaked in some subtle reference like "So we meet again, Zartan" or "I will make sure you stay dead this time, Zartan"
I’ve spent a good couple of weeks trying to whistle like Zartan
Fun fact: the kid who plays snake eyes is a legit martial artist. Also, I love snake eyes and storm shadow. Best parts of those movies.
Yoooo, Broooos!
My apologies for us internet fans being fickle, I think it's beyond just my opinion that you deserve at least 500k subs.
HEYYYY MAN!!!!!
Hey, EpicVoiceGuy, can you say "Son of the Mask is the greatest cinematic masterpiece ever"
“I do ‘na mean’, Mudflap...I do” 🤣🤣🤣
"The Queen's Gambit Honest Trailer can also be...beautiful" - Beth Harmon
Yesss!!
There's only one scene I remember from the first movie: the chase scene with those nanosuits or whatever. That was pretty cool at the time. There's only one scene I "remember" from the second movie: the escape scene from the monastery. That scene was so incoherent I completely blanked out during it. I had no clue what was happening while watching and I still have no clue what happened. So yeah, that's that franchise summarized in like two sentences.
When the trailer showed those suits, I thought it was going to be a Halo movie.
Well, the mountain fight I thought was pretty neat afterwards.
No Loki Honest Trailer? There’s already a great Pitch Meeting!
I'm gonna need you to get all the way off Honest Trailer's back.
The show was not worth watching anyways
@@commandercaptain4664 Oh okay let me get off of that thing!
I laughed out loud at the "KID FIGHT!" joke. Literally the perfect joke to drag out this long, well done.
Pretty much all the Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow stuff was pretty awesome
Especially in the second movie, their fight scenes are awesome. The snow mountains fight sequence is great!
Everyone loves Ninjas
Do an honest trailer for the TRON franchise. Low key underrated.
Since you're willing to make an honest trailer for this, how about a Honest Trailer for Batman Beyond or Legend of Korra?
Hold did they do one for the last aiebender already
@@charlesstiver2869 Yup! They did!
I literally only watched for snake eyes and storm shadow

My Peeps, sadly I heard they ruined him in his solo film 🥺
@@Valgreen_0 Figures.
And Hasbro finally realized this a decade later. Then didn't cast Ray Park for it.
I feel like I'm missing the joke with the title. "Body Massage: Origins?"
There was a dubbed over Gi Joe psa from the 90's, and one of them had a Joe going up to some kids and ask them if they wanted a body message. It's one of the internet's oldest memes. Look up "Gi Joe PSA Body Message" if you'd like to be enlightened.
@@hartfartpoptart Consider me educated. Pop culture is weird.
@@hartfartpoptart Been using the internet for decades...first time I know of that. Now I know...and knowing is half the battle
@@freedonx The other half is knowing internet memes are TL;DR.
These movies really do show you will enjoy anything when you're a kid. I used to love the first one of these films
I learned English in part from the original series, but boy was I unaware of the casual bigotry.
Retaliation, I particularly enjoy.
Please say: “Low key I kinda liked Loki.”
Don't ask him to lie!!
Hasbro never seems to know what to do with these real American hero’s.
because of China?
They want to deemphasise the American part to appeal to international audiences. It's the same reason that Iron Man was the front man for the Avengers in the MCU instead of Captain America.
A GI Joe tv series like The Falcon and The Winter Soldier would be awesome
*heroes Stop apostrophe abuse today.
Eh most of the animated stuff has been pretty decent.
Now, do a trailer for the 87 animated movie. Speaking of, I'd like for Epic Voice Guy to say, "An itty-bitty ditty bag."
"He's a lost member of the Wu Tang Clan...(enter RZA)"😆😆😆 priceless🔥🔥🔥
Do Loki please! Say “Madam, a God doesn't plead.”
I'd love to see a trailer for The Expanse! There's some joke in there about Bezos needing it to get Blue Origin off the ground.
The expanse would be good
Just finished it - where was it?
There was ONE epic scene in this franchise, when The High Sparrow was toying with the leaders and launched the nukes. That was hilarious. He is a really good actor.
He'll always be Governor Swann to me.
Yeah, I thought Zartan's plan was pretty genius. To release the entire nuclear arsenal, then to destroy them mid-launch, and then to demonstrate Cobra's new weapon - to me, actually feels like good writing in a GI Joe film!
I remember when I saw this, I was SO excited to see Brendan Fraser back in shape + giving me flashbacks of Rick O'Connell. Then I was so disappointed that he disappeared for the rest of the movie.
I never liked their approach to the movies. They should've just gone balls deep into 80s nostalgia and did the blue lasers and red lasers and added some humor.
Trufax. Team America: World Police was a better G.I. Joe movie than any of these crap burgers.

Yes Crank. Man i havent seen this movie for a long time.
Lol so true the kid fights in the flash backs are low key the best parts of these movies! A, they aren’t done with cgi crap and B, they got the kids to hit eachother at times. Looking at most of the adult fights they are way over edited and they never actually hit eachother! I guess insurance for child actors is pretty good in the film industry 0.o
