Ive been an Android user since 2013 when I got my first smartphone, up until now when I decided to switch and try iPhone 13 Pro Max (loving it). I really enjoyed how you analyzed and put into perspective how Apple does not need to try super hard with their phones every year like Android makers do, given their unique position and how their iPhones are built. Kudos!
It's mainly because only apple makes iOS devices and dozens of companies make Android devices, only on an iPhone do you get iOS and it's so tightly integrated with the hardware that almost nobody in the Android space can match it. Though we're seeing Google catch up, right now. It's exciting to be a tech fan

Android and windows are universal operating systems that run on any random thing as long as a device has the right CPU. Apple is proprietary hardware with proprietary Linux. Intel has moved on to making hybrid technology for Chromebook after Apple became native A-chip again. Since Microsoft advertised Android apps as a new windows feature it's likely that Android and windows will be co exist on the same tablet in near future. Apple might even sell their bios software like (boot camp) since A-chip only runs Unix .

Successful corporations like Apple, Dyson, Amazon, etc. have a roadmap for the next few years, just like he said. They plan out what features they will be introducing ahead of time. They do not just throw out new ideas onto the market as soon as they think of them. This is how they are able to grow year-on-year and constantly introduce exciting new advancements.

I've had the 13 Pro sitting in a box since January and haven't quite been able to make the transition from Android! Thanks for all the videos, they really help. Would love to see some more content about side-loading or customisation options on IOS - obviously these are features where the iPhone & it's ecosystem are sorely lacking, but there seem to be some reasonably streamlined solutions out there to help ease the transition for long-time Android users.

Great video! Sometimes it’s not about hitting a home run every year. Sometimes it about refining the team to keep hitting good strikes and making runs to rack up the score. I just switched from Android to Apple for personal reasons, I worked in the industry before the first Apple iPhone was released. I’ve used everything from Nokia to Blackberry RIM. Previously I only ever owned an iPhone 4 for two weeks. It is only now that Apple has reached an optimal balance between telephony and user experience that works and it’s been refined to just “work”. My last phone was the S20 Ultra 5G. It was buggy, telephony was crap and it’s only saving grace was the screen and media performance but end of the day, at this time, my phone just needs to operate well. That’s what Apple is delivering this year, a refined, boring maybe, but consistent experience and quality product.

I can’t download any more apps or even take any pictures unless I delete other apps on my phone. If you can though, see if there’s an offer from your cell provider. Like I have AT&T so I’m paying $12 a month to pay off the new phone! I’m also trading in my iPhone 7 which saves me about $300!

Apple’s brand loyalty is insane, people will buy an iPhone, it gets updates for a long time and when they’re ready to buy a new phone, the get an iPhone because they have no reason to switch (also they trade in their old iPhone for a new one, discounting the price)
For a lot of people it’s also the ecosystem. If you’re a person who JUST has an iPhone that’s one thing, but if you have an iPhone, an iPad, a Mac, an apple Watch, and an apple card, etc. it makes the trade off a lot more costly to switch to android, because at that point you’re not just switching phones, you’re switching an entire system that essentially runs your life on a daily basis. I feel like most people fall into that latter camp of owning multiple apple devices, and I know that for me personally to ever even consider android at this point, the benefit of me switching would have to be something on the order of a 10x improvement.

Tons of reasons to switch, but well, it's all preference I suppose, as the person above already pointed out, if it's an entire ecosystem switch, it might not be worth it, but if you just have one of the devices the switch will be a welcome one, not saying apple is bad, but well, they're expensive to say the least, for the money of a mediocre iPhone I can get a flagship android, and what you get in iPhone is, in my opinion, not at all worth it, not only that, I simply do not appreciate how some apple products are specifically made for other apple products and can't be used to their fullest otherwise, Apple headphones for example, because of software, they can't be used to their fullest unless you have an iPhone, all in all, it's your choice, but in my opinion, the price - quality ratio is god awful and is heavily tipped to the price than quality, (I do not intend to argue about that, they literally want 1k$ for a piece of metal which, from reviews, has poor build quality and is not serviceable) not only that, complete absence of changes.

My first iPhone was the 3GS and I switched to Android after with the Note 2 and 4 just to experience what it was like but I felt like I was missing something in terms of what I was looking for in a smartphone. I then switched back to Apple with the 6s before upgrading it to the XS. I've never looked back after switching back to Apple because it's everything I would like in terms of usability, performance, minimalistic UI (I am personally not a fan of Android UI) amongst others. I am someone who doesn't upgrade to the latest iPhone to own the latest model and would upgrade after 3-4 years because upgrading to me has to be justifiable. I am now using a 13 Pro 6 mths after its initial release thanks to Apple refreshing the lineup with the Alpine Green because I was initially waiting for the 14 Pro and the initial slew of colourways for the 13 Pro just didn't appeal to me despite knowing I was due for an upgrade. Definitely feel the difference and I don't regret upgrading at this point in time. I also like Apple's ethos of pacing themselves with major upgrades to their phones year on year, and I'm happy to say the Apple ecosystem is what does it for me due to its seamless integration across all their products. I now own an iPad for work and an Apple watch. Also, I only got myself the watch when the series 6 was released because again, I couldn't justify getting an Apple watch back then when smartwatches were kinda in their infancy and I didn't wanna rush out to get a smartwatch by other manufacturers when I knew that at some point, I will be staying in the Apple ecosystem for the long term. So I definitely agree with the points made in this video. Awesome job with the analysis! :)
I also have the iPhone 13 pro in the same colour and it really is an amazing piece of tech. I have used android all my life and the iPhone is amazing. Just a tad disappointed by a lack of customisation but that’s not that bad.

I been a Samsung lifer till now. I just switched to apple and it is night and day when entering the apple eco system. It was always a struggle to add a new device to android. The color on screen I truly enjoy. My eyes don’t feel as tired. I even went with the 13 pro not the max.
I actually like those cameras, and indeed the whole camera unit not being “sunken” into the phone. I guess it’s just a matter of personal taste.

It was a good point about Apple not really competing with Androids. Probably why I am so partial to Android to begin with, I like the risks they tend to take. He just put it in much better words.

@Jackson Scott Samsung and other Androids take risk because they have to, and usually that ends up with a feature that gets scrapped. Remember edge phones that had side sliding apps, glowing sides for calls? Gone. What about their one-handed mode that basically never got used? What about dual screen that was only for extremely niche use cases because of how small the screen is. Apple doesn’t add features they will scrap, each iOS update is intentional and direct. Recently they added “focus” as a replacement for “DND”, and boy is it such an amazing implementation of a DND feature, that can also be used as a Home Screen changer. What about their new “ear” that they’ve added? With background white noise implementation, live listen which records dB in surrounding area, and a detects when a sound on your phone is too loud for your ears. Such a small feature that has so many use cases for people that already seek these things from other apps. Widget support when that was added was also really good, clean, and nice to use. Apple really just does what other companies do, but better. I can’t believe that most Android phones still have the old feeling drop down menu that is clunky to use vs the simple and clean layout of Apples.

It might have something to do with this display looking much better and brighter but I upgraded from my regular 12 to a 13 pro and the camera differences are very very noticeable
Inspired by your battery test video, I charged my 13 pro max to 100% and left it off a charger and used it until it ran down. I had 10 hours of screen on time and put it on charge with over 15% battery left about 25 hours later.

I’ve never had anything bad to say about my OnePlus 7 Pro battery, and my friend’s Note 20 Ultra is maybe the most impressive phone I’ve ever seen and I know the battery life is incredible, but I wasn’t talking about that now. Ive been an Apple fan boy ( thats if i can still say boy in this mad world) ive bought a new iPhone every year but got a Samsung galaxy S22 ultra a few weeks ago i thought it was an ok phone but missed my 12 pro max. I sent it back to virgin and got 13 pro max and love it thanks to you. I used to be a pub/ restaurant manager most of my life but got ms now and stuck in a wheelchair plus a few more things wrong with me so my Iphone and watch do a great job in keeping me safe which other companies can't match so want to say a big thank you to Apple for that. Anyway dude keep up the awesome vids love them.
