You need to pop down there.... There's refreshments, teas / coffees ect, seating area ect..its a good day out. Newport auctions is a bit of a smelly dump , but there's the odd bargain to be had , but the bca boys is where it's at.
I think you dodged a bullet on that first range rover. If the previous owner drove around on tyres with less than 2mm tread, what else have they skimped on

My brother in law bought a Mercedes which obviously, he thought had a Mercedes Engine! Wrong, when it transpired to have a engine fault he found out that the engine was a ‘Renault’! He was not happy!!! Would be an interesting video, to explain that sometimes you are not getting what you thought. ‘Manufacturers Sometimes Share Engines to Save the Development Costs’… Great video on trying to buy cars at Auction, really enjoyed it, top work, please do more!

I do wonder why some cars are going for so much over cap book. Is it dealers that are willing to go for smaller margins, or is it private buyers, or are the retail values actually higher than the Cap retail suggests ?

Love this kind of content on how you approach, opinion and advise on buying, keep it coming. I’m surprised how long some cars take to sell, would be good to see a video on which cars have been on your forecourt the longest and how you go about what to do selling other than lowering price. And on the flip side quick sales and do you regret not having it a higher price or having more of them Anyway I think soon you will be soon up there with Matt from high peak autos in terms of you tube subscribers

When you buy cars from auction do you need to HPI check them or does the auction do it before sale?
They 'should' do it but sometimes things slip the net. It is their responsibility though

Orange Disco Sport last service was at 41,200 miles and the mileage is now 94,400. Is this really something worth buying as not servicing it for so long could lead to major problems?
That's just what paperwork they have, that doesn't mean it hasn't been done. It doesn't even mean it's not in the paperwork, they're just not that efficient at checking!

We’ve been stung quite a few times with sub £3k cars recently and as we don’t sell anything under £5k at the garage, he probably wanted to play it very safe! Glad you got a good price though!
