Had 8 NHL player ( OK Malkin was injured !) still 7 NHL players !against Germanys 3 ( Seider ,Sturm & Peterka !) on their rooster ! A lot of Penalty Times on booth side ! We can except the major conduct Penalty 5 min+20min that was handed to Mo Seider but before Switzerland scored their Goal a Swiss Player broke Seiders stick ! Should have been Penalty for Swiss but refs didnt see it that way ! Thats why Seider was so pissed and he overacted to roughly with his checks ! Could have seriously injured the Swiss player thats why He received the 5 Min + 20 Min , WE all know this ! Best Defender on German team out but Germany still manages to beat the Swiss Team ! Congrats for reaching Semifinal ! Good Luck against the US team , they are the Big Favorites the pressure is on Team USA not Germany!

Like the elbow on the head against a swiss player and some calls given to germany and after the same thing happen but no signal by the referees. Mmhh, after the referees made bad decisions on both sides. But, clearly, the referees don't give the win to Germany. They earned that win and big respect to german team for that. I'm just curious how to rest of the tournament will be because there is some clear bad decisions by the referees in every games.

Yeah, its hard for me to cope with the humiliation and shame, year after year. Probably best for me to stop supporting my nation. As much as that hurts, being a swiss supporter hurts way more. Meanwhile the US and Canada dominate all of europe with teams full of 19 year old college players. I'm done.

It doesnt matter to me If on both nations rooster there are average , good or even great NHL players! I know booth nations are missing a lot of NHL players because of the ongoing Playoffs ! But her is a thing ,Imagine Germanys Draisaitl ( momentarly best Scorer in Playoffs , although his Oilers are Out ) would have been there ! Would have been another push for this until now also great playing offence of Germany next to Sturm & Peterka ! Niedermeier is great but a Grubauer against an so experienced Team Like Team USA in semifinal would have been even better ! As a german, I am really happy today with this win, which I didn`t expect at all! When Mo Seider was out I was sure we would lose this game, but in this case I like beeing wrong! With that being said I really love that german, swiss or austrian hockey isn´t considered second tier hockey anymore and they all can break the phalanx of the top 4 (5, if Russia could play) on a good day.

I knew that the Germans are gonna win, very underestimated by everyone, they are no longer that weakling that you can just roll-over. Swiss showed they are extra class in group stage, but "much worse" in playoff. And they had probably on of best players they could get this cup, maybe their biggest chance to win yet + they met Germans (they played well, but still "easier to play with" than usa, swe or fin imho) even tho Germans know how to play against them (they both met "easiest" opponent against them in qf) WP Germany Unlucky for Switzerland
I realy realy do not think that Germany is easier to win against than Team USA, I saw the Match and Germany played absolutely insane, they are very very efficient und when it comes to defending very passionate. It will be a great Fight on saturday, but Germany hast the Spirit to win this whole Championship.
Resting some of their top players against Latvia was a huge mistake. They were on a roll and changing the formula killed their momentum.
Today I've lost all my excitement for the world championships. Being a swiss supporter brings more pain than joy. Tough to let go of something I've cared so much about. But I cant cope with the humiliation, year after year.
Well in 2022 you defeated the German team ! I dont get it why after such a win streak against top Icehockey nations and winning every game ( except against Latvia!) the Swiss Team completly falted against Team Germany! Your Swiss Team has 8 great NHL players( OK Malkin was injured!) still than 7 NHL players and good players from Swiss League which is.a better League than German DEL ! Germany is becoming Switzerlands nightmare in Icehockey at WC ! 2010 ,2021 and now 2023 ! From the rooster Switzerland had the potential to go all the way but choked again in the quaterfinals ! Canada vs USA is probably gonna be the final , although i would wish for a LAT vs GER final ! Germany had untill now have reached 14 Times the quaterfinals but its only the third time Germany is in a semifinal ! Good Luck on saturday against top Favorit USA ! A deserved victory for GER. Tactically excellent. The referee, Omg. Ger simply played his strength. Well in defense this time and very effective in the attack. Sui had no chance. With or without Seider at GER. GER played very well (tactical). That could have been even more bitter for Switzerland. With 3-1, GER can live. Better than in 2021, Ger already defeated Switzerland. was foreseeable after the very tight defeats against the great nations USA, FIN and SWE
You just have to get used to referees helping Switzerland.
Switzerland was arrogant the whole tournament. First saying "Those weak teams are no match for us, we wanna play Finland and Sweden", then Patrick Fischer "I will decide when the training ends, not the staff from host country", and finally "We can rest our top players in the last match". This is what you get when you're not humble
I think the Swiss have been very humble in the past and this year it was their goal to go into the tournament with full confidence and mentality of a winning team. But with a roster like this and after dominating the preliminary round, only to absolutely, miserably fail again in the quarter finals is unacceptable and I'm really disappointed... I don't know what more is needed, I just don't... But yes, I get your point. - A sad Swiss

wow oh wow. Germany goals 2 & 3 were executed perfectly. Germany's steady improvement over the years is uber impressive. The game misconduct was undeserved: sure a hard check, but I see no intent to injure.
As a German myself I knew that Seider would get a misconduct. It was a dumb play by him and probably a result of the goal by the Swiss which should not have counted.

I would argue that this is not good for ice hockey. In Switzerland I would say that ice hockey has a real chance to challenge football as the national sport, if the national team could take that next step and win a world championship, plus if a championship is hosted here. That will never happen in Germany. Football is too popular, and there are too many other popular sports (e.g. F1, handball)..

@@user-hb1mw3qu6x В 2014 году Россия не смогла взять золото на домашней Олимпиаде со своим звездным составом из НХЛ , что тоже был низкий уровень участников .И за 28 лет с 1993 по 2021 года Россия взяла только 5 раз золото .1993 ,2008,2009,2012,2014 годах .Это говорит что уровень сборных команд чемпионатов мира поднялся ,и уже на одном коньке не возможно выигрывать со счетом 8-1,9-2 тех же финнов ,немцев ,датчан ,норвежцев .

100% right. As a Swiss and hockey fan I was sitting there supposed to watch a game where the team thought it's fine to "leave" out a game. Not only must it have been disrespectful to the swiss fans in the stadium to go and watch a game where the team goes out and tries to half-ass it, but with that they also took all the wind out of their own sails. You can't convert from international competition to fun camp for one game and expect to just revert to the previous for like that. No disrespect to Latvia, those guys played as if they would have gotten whipped if they lost. That is a feeling that I missed from any swiss player in today's game. Our team outed itself from the tournament and I as a fan feel so disappointed about it. It almost feels like the time cheering for them in the previous games was wasted.

truly.... this is a micro lesson in how season hockey and playoff hockey are two different types of hockey the Swiss looked like the best side of a weaker group A had every right to make a favorite run this year.... nope. bounce by a weaker team who played with heart, got some lucky roles and overall just beat them badly. giving lativa a W into the playoffs was nice but didn't matter...they were perfect play in the round robin...and it didn't matter at all

Германия на классе выиграла, Щвейцария была просто разобранно и играли валяжно.
Не на классе,а на сплочённости и мотивации ,они больше выложились и были более сыграны ,а Швейцарцы играли вальготно думали что победа в кармане ,потому может и поставили второго вратаря а не первого ,короче несерьёзно подошли,вратарь это пошьти пол команды

Ich weiss ehrlich nicht wie ich mit dieser Demütigung zu Recht kommen soll. Es ist wohl besser für mich, wenn ich kein Eishockey mehr schaue. Jahr für Jahr nur Schmach und Enttäuschung. Gratulation zum Sieg. Deutschland feiert die Erfolge, die ich von der Schweiz erhofft habe. Ihr habt uns längst überholt.
@@seaven7 Das Problem sind die hohen Erwartungen und der daraus resultierende hohe Druck. Eure Presse mischt da ja auch immer ganz gut mit. Somit seid ihr für euch und auch für die Gegner immer gleich Favorit. Und wir nehmen das dankend an, die Underdogrolle steht der Nationalmannschaft, die spielen völlig befreit auf. Denn was hat man schon zu verlieren? Man sollte bei euch also vlt. erstmal mental an die Geschichte ran gehen. Denn Können fehlt auf keinen Fall. Das schweizer Eishockey ist einfach geil. Nicht entmutigen lassen, Hocleyfan bleiben! 😉
