    • @@DonGivani and in the end, it helped us, because the first one was a learning experience that showed them what to do differently in this one. Prevent them from going nuts behind the three point line with desperation threes. This is what kept team USA in the game the first time, also in this game they had a good shooting night from outside, but when they tried to just do the same thing, the aggressive hedging on Ant caught them off guard.

Not surprised by that considering the whole team of USA are literally first-timers in the international space and have no real knowledge of the rules, regulations, nor as much chemistry as these other countries yet. A lot of the other countries teams have chemistry from years of training for the world and Olympics together. If the USA team learns from these tough losses they won't lose any games.

    • Hallo! The problem is that Germany played against the C Team of the US in the semis and against the B Team of Serbia in the finals. Still great performance! PS: Putting it in soccer terms. This is like playing against Brasil without Neymar, Vinicius, Silva and Argentina without Messi :)

    • Germany won in spite of Schröder. At any given moment he will destroy the team chemistry on the court. Another thing Schröder isn't German. If my mother gave birth to me in China that doesn't make me Chinese. I'm a White American of German-Irish descent, but in the U.S.A. White in it's authentic or traditional use means European. What if Nigeria came running onto the court & had 10 Europeans in the layup line, does anyone think the Nigerian people would be emotionally invested? The Kalergi diversity agenda will & is currently destroying everything including the "bread and circus" events, so it doesn't matter if you're for or against sides will be chosen...

  • As an American, hats off to Germany for pulling out that upset. You can see that the US team didn’t bring the intensity on the defensive and made some late errors that cost them the game. This is a pretty young group, hopefully they all learn something from it and bring home a bronze medal.

    • Basketball is just a niche sport in the world. The world is playing football and isn’t even trying to compete in the US sport basketball.     • @@Walrus286truth! On any given night, an average player can be super hot and change the outcome of the game. There is NO DOUBT if this is a 7 game series, the USA team would win. This is one of the main reasons why NBA has a 7 game series instead of a one game knock out, to minimize the chance of a much lesser team that can be a winner by being hot or lucky for ONE game.

  • It drives me crazy how German media does not even spent few minutes on their sensational team and all you can listen and watch is about the socks and gossips of the football players, the handball (sorry but a really awful sport) and other sports. German basketball should be easily the number 2 sport in terms of coverage and support, the organisations and all people involved have done astonishing work the past 2 decades.

    • Nobody on team U.S. was very good on defense.... DPOY of the Jackson looked as lost as anyone else. Dennis is quick but also bricks shots like Westbrook in some games. Fortunately for Germany, he had a good game. he was awful against Latvia .... 4 for 25.

  • Now that the USA has been eliminated from the World Cup of Basketball Championship it will become evident to most Americans that Noah Lyles knew the difference between the two classifications. The Denver Nuggets are the best global CLUB/FRANCHISE in the world with a collection of the best international stars, like Real Madrid, Manchester City et al in, football. Whoever wins the FIBA World Cup will be the best National team in the world made up of players from the same country. The rest of the world understand the same thing that Noah Lyles was teaching those who didn't know what they now do. . You can be World Champions if you select your best players. Leaving LeBron James of your National roster is like Argentina going to the Football World Cup without Lionel Messi. 🇹🇹

    • I feel you but if Jokic played for Serbia everybody would have to play. Steph, Lebron, Paul George, Kawhi. Jimmy Butler. The best... the thing also is the continuity. These guys have been been playing National ball together forever, so when they get in those pressure situations they have their sets and know who's going to be THE GUY... this US team wants it to be Edwards as it should be but pressure busts pipes and one turnover/mistake/miscue can be the difference in the color of your metal... in the NBA you may be a star but on these National teams sometimes you need a star to turn into Rick Fox. That being said Germany has had great spacing and pick and roll all tournament. Shroeder was brilliant. Theiss just amazing versatility. Inside/outside/defense... i have thoroughly enjoyed this tournament...

    • Agreed. What’s crazy is that it’s okay to play like that when you have genuinely superior talent and can limit your unforced mistakes/turnovers.     • And I would debate that even those current gen allstars would not be that much better. They got more issues with chemistry and cohesion and the real stars are past their prime now (Lebron, KD, Steph and Harden) while the new ones like Tarum, Book, Ja and Trae are divas who like to choke in big games, so this is not a good mix of players when you expect a gold medal in france. Team USA is due for getting a humbling at the olympics. 2012 Kobe bailed them out, and 2016 and 2020 KD did several times. This time they have no clear cut prime superstar to carry them to gold. It will be VERY INTERESTING!

  • Germany earned that victory, they played together better, shot better and defended better. As a Lakers fan, y'all have finally found Austin Reaves weakenes...defense. He give effort but lack athleticism and teams will continue to target him. Congrats Germany, good luck. Also, it's Ok to be from USA, love your team and still acknowledge that your team lost.     • Reeves was getting beaten in post ups. He's not Aaron Gordon ... he's basically a tall guard. U.S. has poor team defense. Theis looked like Hakeem out there today. Not Reeves fault. Edwards constantly lost on D. Kerr refusing to play Kessler and they got killed in the paint. Edwards is great on offense but it's all iso ... U.S. lacks team chemistry.

    • I feel like the biggest issue is the lack of center or big that can rebound and play in the post. Our weakness at the 5 has been telling even when we won the gold back in 2021. Germany, Lithuania, and even France during the olympics killed the USA off the glass. Hell, we were so desperate for a big in the 2020 olympics that we sent McGee.
