Some recent examples of lions spotted together multiple times: Nhenha, the last Birmingham/Gowrie male, with his son the Nkuhuma male, after Nhenha's brother Tinyo disappeared; the last of the four Musketeers, Morani, with his son from the Rekero Breakaway pride, after Morani's brother Scarface died of old age last year; and the Birmingham and Torchwood young males. Of course, we have the most famous example of Notch forming a coalition with his five sons. I'm sure there's many more examples I'm not aware of.

Whether they are fathers and sons isn't truly relevant because the point is, they weren't coalition members before. You basically said lions don't form coalitions after leaving their natal pride. Well, they do. The fathers lived for several years with their own coalition members and the sons were either nomads or on the way to becoming one. After the fathers' coalition members all passed away, they've shown the capability of forming new coalitions with other lions. And what about the Torchwood and Birmingham young males I mentioned? These two were both nomads from different prides who formed a coalition to better their own odds of survival. Point of all this is that lions' social lives are more complex than we commonly believe.

This young male definitely earned a little respect from these two fierce warriors (whom I absolutely wholeheartedly love) he held is own the youngster which is very good especially if he is a young Nomadic male who doesn't have a partner it's going to be very hard for him.
