Honestly, I think them making an original story is the BEST way they could have done it. Fallout is an entire WORLD. The entire planet is involved. There aren't that any characters that really need to be involved, from various games. Corporations yes, weapons, and some lore, yes. But the story? They are all, mostly, self isolated.
Except for a few that trashed the series, most reviewers have said the exact same thing. Honestly tho, did they have a choice? What story were they going to develop? The game experience can be very different based on how you play the game, so I don't think it could have been successfully developed any other way. I'm kinda thankful for the shitty reviews tho. They were all I found before I watched the series, so I was expecting the worst, & came away very pleasantly surprised.
@@JeighNeitherits good its good brillant class.
It's very smart. There are dozens of Vaults in the US that we don't know about so pick a number that hasn't been used and start in that one. The call to action of leaving the Vault to rescue a family member is a common theme in Fallout but the story can vary wildly depending on the vault's location.
I finished the series and it was perfect. But I fully agree and now can’t wait for season 2/ fallout 5.
I would say at this point the main character from the games is the world itself everyone just inhabitants the world and we see some of their stories but it's how the world would get on with /deal with a nuclear apocalypse
10:31 - "The sisterhood of the banged dress." I am DECEASED 🤣 💀
It should be said that hiding away in a refrigerator is also in Fallout 4, there's a young ghoul in one.
I was surprised the kid wasn't ghoulified too
Billy the Kid in the Fridge has the mostly oddly wholesome conclusion ❤
Rule number one about fridge kid, never mention fridge kid
@@Gamingderpmonglers I mean you can also just sell Billy into slavery if you want.
@@jameslars7391Aw, come on, don't ruin the wholesome vibes. We get so few of them in the Wasteland! 😂
YES THANK YOU! please do all 8
YES PLEASE!
Second
Please do I saw so much I wanna see you find even more then me
I mean, I’m not really sure why they wouldn’t cover the entire series
@@pilarwolf8818right? Lol
Fallout is retro-futuristic. It's what people in the 50's imagined what the future looks like. So their computers still use vacuum tubes instead of semiconductors.
I too am smart and not at all going to go Google what a Semiconductor is
The style of most Batman stories are retrofuturistic.
That's because in the Fallout Universe, Semiconductors were never invented. Atomic Energy was the main Technological Focus.
Everyone knows this lol
@@raromig Transistors and semi conductors exist in the Fallout Universe. The first Fallout games driving incident that started the story was Vault 13's water chip breaking and the player character must journey to the surface and wasteland in search of a replacement MacGuffin. So semiconductors exist but they never advanced all that much compared to the real world because supposedly a few large companies held the patents and stifled progress and innovation.
Being in an age where video game adaptations are good is still bonkers to me. I wish Halo had this much care put into it but this series really makes me wanna get into the fallout games.
ikr? i finished watching and straight up jumped into the lore
Same!
Fr
With this and the Last of Us. It really seems that TV really is the way to go. Games are lore are just so expansive that you really can't distill it down into a 2 hour movie.
@@jtbsax Worked for the Need for Speed though...
When is the next video dropping? It's been over a week. One a week, sounds reasonable.
Chewsday innit
I’m still waiting for it 😭😭
2 damn weeks now
When are the other videos dropping can’t wait!
Do 1-8 individually. No matter how long it takes. It will be worth it to your views and viewers.
yeah i dont know this fukin game ( or any games ) , i need somebody to hold my hand, episode to episode.
@@joshbarrigada 😄
As someone who played fallout for like 15 years this was great series love the end ,and the beginning the finale episode blew my mind so hyped for season 2 amazon prime did a great job capturing the concept of the game also bringing non fall out game players who is not familar with the lore to the franchise.
I'm I the only one who thought the actor who plays Maximus could be a good replacement to Jonathan Major's Kang?
I thought the exact same thing!
Yess, I agree
When I saw Maximus, all I thought was Kang. How appropriate?
Too young
No.
Maximus being found in a fridge is an Easter egg reference for the "Kid in a Fridge" side quest from Fallout 4 where you rescue Billy Peabody from being stuck in a fridge and reunite him with his family or you can sell him to a gang of gunners
6:24 is the most terrifying nuke explosion I've seen in live action.
Twin peaks season 3 episode 8 is my fav imo ;)
Definitely better than Oppenheimers that was so disappointing that it made me not even watch the movie like I was going to after seeing it, it's weird they made it look so bad when they literally could've just inserted real test footage or something
@Werewolf914 they actually used explosives for that one. The fallout explosion was CGI
@@Werewolf914 And both Oppenheimer and the Fallout pilot was directed by a Nolan brother.
Just not enough sadly. And they could do it with the same exlposives, they just need like 4 times the amount.@@fauxfibfaux
If I recall correctly, ghouls essentially have a form of turbo-cancer that makes them functionally immortal (except to catastrophic brain injury) by regenerating tissue rapidly, but it also causes extreme physical deformity and constant pain. Feral ghouls have succumbed to madness due to the pain, the extended life span, or both.
possibly but in the game the brain deteriorating is what is hinted/out right said to be the cause of feral ghouls, their brains rot perhaps a form of dementia is probably a better description. not every feral starts off coherent but coherent ghouls face diminishing over time into feral ghouls. if i remember correctly Handcock in FO4 becomes a ghoul from chem use, similarly to whats his name in the series.
I don't know bout y'all but I knew Monty was a liar when you see his scars. A vault dweller wouldn't have scars like that...
There were several similar hints throughout the dinner scene with the other 32s. Scars and tattoos and whatnot. It immediately raised a red flag for me beyond just another vault on much harder times.
@@Blasted2Oblivion Yeah, that shot of the scars on the 32ers heads immediately alerted me something was up. Monty himself felt off the entire time and when he took his shirt off and I saw those scars, I immediately realized they were raiders.
Weddings never go well in tv series. Plus you can tell from the other guests something was up
The vintage TV and camera is due to a split in the Fallout timeline and ours. They never invented the transistor, hence all the vacuum tubes.
They definitely have transistors (we see and even collect them in the games). They are used in weapons and robots, but their use never made it into other tech because, in the Fallout universe, they were snatched up by only a few companies. Which is what the real split is: capitalism is just even way more out of control in the Fallout universe than it is in ours.
No,you're wrong lol
That's a myth, it was never confirmed what the exact diversion point from our timeline was for Fallouts timeline.
It's not really about a split in the timeline perse...it's just based on the types of things that people in the 50s imagined when they thought of the future. Like the Jetson's.
I thought they didn't have the integrated circuit hence all the vacuum tubes
Please do all 8 of these. I've been hoping y'all would cover them individually!
They could be told what to say ...definitely agree with you
There is a quest in fallout 4 about a boy in a fridge 😂 awesome little Easter egg I caught 22:40
Pretty sure they have one in fallout 3 as well except it’s a skeleton if my recollection is right.
I love how the brotherhood is the brotherhood in this theyre not good ,and they are not bad.
I love how at the end of every episode, it does a zoom out showing more of the map, just like the epic Fallout game trailers!
Missable detail: there’s a radiation symbol (trefoil) on the map behind the meteorologist. 2077 USA had a lot of nuclear accidents and waste. Symbol appears to be over Colorado or thereabouts.
just finished season 1, they really knocked it out of the park with fallout. they showed how respecting the source material can pay off, no alternate timelines or re-imaginings
In the basketball playing scene, I took it as sports being such an ancient thing that the rules have been lost in translation. They think that "shooting a brick" is how you play the game lol. Also I hope you do each episode individually. Great work!!
We all shot bricks
That makes sense. Especially after the way Moe described baseball in Fallout 4.
After some time I imagine the knowledge of how to make these balls will be lost, and that's where they had to change the rules.
Walton is good at playing these , western/southern characters. I always enjoy his performances
i was waiting for this one! other big channels tried doing this and they butchered it because they wanted to hop on a trend and got half the info wrong lmaooo. thanks for being reliable info and please do individual episodes
Waiting on your episode 2 upload. It’s been almost 2 weeks!
They definitely were doing way more than cousins should be 😅😂 11:02
Right! That was very clear in the episode. 😅
I love Chet so much
I keep checking back for episodes 2-8...😕😕😕
8 days later and no episode 2???? come on
2 weeks now
They really did the Impossible and made the Ghoul Hot. Honestly, he's my favorite ghoul, just BEATS Hancock from Fallout 4.
I'm so glad someone else said it! I thought I was a freak lol
@@krazila234 I was also wondering if I had weird taste until I looked online and the general consensus about him was "I would" lol
I binged all 8 in a row and it was so worth it
Yes
Same
They were like Pringles for my eyeballs lol
I couldn't stop watching it lol
This series is the best out. Goggins sells this one by far. He is a great actor, just like his Boyd character in Justified. I'm on my 4th time watching it trying to locate Easter Eggs... Keep it up...
desperately need yall to make videos on all 8 episode please!!! ive never played the game so i need to know the lore
Over 2 week for ep2 is wild…
Where are the rest of the episode reviews?
DAMMIT, I was really hoping Walter Goggins character was just the actor himself after the bombs dropped 😂😂
Walton* Goggins. Not Walter 😂
What do you mean? Like if he didn’t become a gunslinger?
He was his character before and after the bombs. It is just, as the story progresses, he starts becoming extremely jaded as he starts learning the reasons behind all the BS he is hearing. By his introduction as the Ghoul, he has a couple hundred years to let that distrust of people and the world fester. But, he is still extremely smart and still looking for answers to things.
@@MrShadowpanther3 no, they meant they were hoping it was actually Walton Goggins. Not Cooper Howard. Lol
@@Jaysin412 ahh, got it. 👍
are you guys going to do the rest of the episodes?
Who would have guessed the best thing Bethesda would do for the fallout franchise was give it to somebody else to make stories for them.
fnv moment
4:32 “am I Nat?” 😂😂😂 I loved all of this so much thank you Jessica!
I believe the thumbs up gesture was debunked somewhat recently. But they did some heavy testing of nuclear weaponry using soldiers back in the day and they learned much about the effects of the bombs.
Maximus hiding in a fridge is a reference to Billy, the kid in Fallout 4 who hides in a fridge until you let him out or not. PS you can also sell him into slavery
I think the basketball scene could also be a reference to Moe Cronin in diamond city in Fallout 4. He misunderstood baseball into a game where everyone ran onto a field and beat the crap out of each other. Just the complete lack of understanding about pre war games
Get your swatters right here!
11:07 it was a tranquilizer not a pistol.
A tranquilizer pistol.
@@AJUniverse i all so recall it being in fall out 1 or 2 not a100 on that
It’s in fallout 3 as well. Did no damage but would make enemies limbs break. Perfect for deathclaws charging you. Just shoot em in the leg and they can’t move for like 8 seconds.
@@calebmahoney2448 are you referring to the syringer or is it something else?
@@Greenhawk4 I thought it was a tranq gun but it might have been the syringer It’s been a long time.
6:39 that’s actually a Plymouth XNR which was a concept car made in our real world. I think that one specifically was a recreation made by Gotham Garage of Netflix fame
I agree
Thank you. Glad I'm not the only one to recognize the vehicle
Can you guys do 8 separate episodes that brake down each one I love watching the epp then watching your reviews, love the content, keep it up
Uncle Baby Billy survived the apocalypse!
😂😂😂
😂
Praise be to he 🤣🤣🤣🤣
He's still misbehavin'
And he got nothing zilch
So cover one episode on fallout and that is good? But let’s do like 4 videos about wolverine and dead pool.😂
my favorite part of this series is seeing patty (dale dickey) surviving alive and well 200+ years after the events of My Name Is Earl
She's a great character actress, always playing interesting characters.
I'm pretty sure dad says he was from vault 31. So...weird. at least 3 vaults connected
Anyone notice that the film breaking in the fight scene in the vault looks like a nuke went off? And I couldn't see a delivery system for the nukes at the beginning, no planes or incoming missiles. Was it a ground attack?
_shakily asks_ Yall got anymore of them fallout reviews?
Maximus being in the fridge is actually in the game as well but the little boy you find in there has been there for over 200 years he hid in the fridge to survive but got locked in ther until you the play of the game sets him free or sell him for some caps
Maximums coming out the fridge is also a nod to Billy The Kid In a Fridge from Fallout 4.
PLEASE do the other seven episodes soon! I was shocked at how much I loved this entire season and I need more!
A reunion of Goggins and Williamson from Justified.
Oh, shit, I didn't even think of that!
“The president having disappeared he prolly hiding on a oil rig or something” like yes that what we are thinking when the president disappears 😂😂
Haha that’s what happens in the games! They retreated to an oil rig where the Enclave HQ is
22:38 this is actually a reference to fallout 4, there is a side mission where you find a kid named billy inside a fridge who’d been there since the bombs dropped and he’s still alive. Pretty neat reference!
Yes please continue to them like this!! I want an episode 2!
see when the series is this good, we don't complain about female protagnist or any changes from series.
The actor who plays Maximus got some Denzel in him.
Are y'all still planning to do the rest of the episodes or no?
Did yall give up on fallout ?!?
Only saw the first episode but I think that Lucy’s dad was originally from the outside and somehow infiltrated into 33 seeing how he killed monty just gave outside vibes
Hank says he’s from Vault 31
Watch the whole season. All will be revealed
love this series finished it yesterday, cool thing is if you played the games you will notice several locations in the game especially a very famous location in fallout 4, this series is so good and it's great for both newcomers and veteran fallout fans unlike other video game adaptations
22:16 bubba Gump shrimp, give me money
I realized today I’ve been watching this channel since 2017 and yall have come so far
i wus waiting for you guys to upload thissss, thank you!
I think you can play the first scene with Howard in reverse. Starting with him and his daughter on the horse and ending with “The End”. Telling a sick short story
I love Walton Goggins, a pleasure in everything he's in. Whether its despicable arseholes like the shield or comedy leads like in vice principals. Always great.
First episode, you can see what time the bombs dropped. The mom changes the channel on the tv and you can see a clock on it reading 10:50
The billboard in detail #12 @6:51 is the billboard from Fallout 4.
Big clue ins on hubby being a raider were the two bullet scars on his back and the foot long scar on his side.
Yeah I immediately caught that. Like how the hell would he have gotten those wounds in the vault.
Really hoping you haven't forgotten about the rest of the episodes Jess... 🙏
Eden was also the Enclave president in FO3 I think.
John Henry Eden, I do believe.
Although Fallout came out in the 90s, it's a successor of the original Wasteland games which came out in the lates 80s, and were heavily inspired by A Boy and His Dog (1975). There's a direct reference to the film in one of the later episode flashbacks, but the whole atmosphere of caricature draws heavily from it.
Fun fact: the first episode takes place in a vault which is a reference to the fact that there are vaults in the video game series!
NEVER!!! I guessed that and I’ve never played the games
Plz cite your source, this sounds like Stormcloak propaganda.
I definitely knew they were raiders as soon as I saw them. They made no attempt to hide this fact and it made the vault dwellers seem naive which makes sense.
25:20 cooper probably has the bloody mess perk
Thank you thank you thank you! I love when y’all go into detail with each episode because I have questions and need help. ❤ y’all!
"Am i Nat? Am I Natalie?" Lol, it WAS a good 1 line rendition... but you know that the Nat in Nat King Cole is for Nathaniel, right?
I didn’t play the games, but this season was great and got me interested in them. I got Fallout 3 after finishing the last ep!
It's a pretty solid series. Just prepare for a bunch of bugs. It doesn't seem to matter which game or who made it, bugs are abound.
Hey they are all "free" on Xbox if you have the game pass pc or console because Microsoft owns the company now but they are all on sale on steam.
good video, in depth and yet still personal. I'll watch them as i am sipping slowly the serie like a good wine.
I didn't catch all the easter eggs in episode 1, and you did amazing at describing everything. Please do the rest of the episodes!
what a great break down. Ms. Lulu your enthusiasm and energy are outstanding and the writing was awesome. really a nice job.
About the basket ball scene, they were Brick Layers lol. Not random objects. Similarly to the Swatters from FO4.
little max being in the fridge a refrence to the kid you save/sell in fallout 4
24:07 Baby Doll Arm? That is definitely a leg!
Looking forward to each vid! Been waiting all day for one.
I enjoyed the season. A good few laughs, action packed and good references and Easter eggs. Kudos 👏🏾.
Maximus being rescued also felt a lot like the scene Din Djarin was rescued in The Mandalorian. Mykelti Williamson also was in Justified with Walton Goggins. It was like a role reversal where Walton's father had a history with Mykelti's character and now Mykelti's father had a history with Walton.
Without watching past episode 2 I wonder if Cooper Howard is the original face of vault tech before switching to a smoother cartoony-looking vault boy that we get on the posters
the most mind blowing thing on that series which introduced me to the fallout universe ...is that they had fusion reactors but they never passed from tranzistors to chips and micro chips ...Ultimate dystopic !!!
Playing basketball with bricks, while throwing up bricks lol
Please do these as singular episodes. It makes it so much more enjoyable!
I thought to my self "The dwellers from 33 looked like prisoners." Then I thought, "oh crap those are raiders."
I thought the squires playing basketball like that was their misinterpretation of a “basket”and the term “throwing bricks”
I feel like the scene when they were playing basketball with bricks was kind of like a nod to their misunderstanding of History like how the Kings thought Elvis was actually a king sort of thing
Reminded me of the way Moe from Fallout 4 describes baseball
I lost it at Sisterhood of the Banged Dress lmfao
Going to keep watching this until we get the rest of the episodes 😂🙏🏾
Uggams brilliantly played the mother in American Fiction too.
This was done soooo well, such attention to detail! Ella was such an amazing player character the story when how a game storyline goes and they took it seriously. Id say this is the best game adaptation ever!
