DELETED SCENE: How Marvel FIXED Rhodey Before Cap 4 & Armor Wars!
Secret Invasion finally RETCONNED! Rhodey now became a Skrull after Avengers Endgame, NOT Civil War! Go to 1shotenergy.com/newrockstars for 10% off your order!
Marvel Studios’ The Falcon and the Winter Soldier released an official deleted scene that would have clarified when, exactly, Rhodey was replaced with a Skrull. After Secret Invasion, fans were disappointed by the implication that James Rhodes (Don Cheadle) had been a Skrull since the airport battle in Captain America Civil War. Now, this deleted scene with Rhodey and Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) reveals that the Skrull-swap happened long after, shortly after the events of Avengers Endgame. Erik Voss explains what this means for Captain America Brave New World and Armor Wars!

Secret Invasion was another universe, problem solved.
Secret invasion was just a stealth season of what if
Secret invasion was just a side mission that isn't canon
Anything to make it non-canon.
The DCEU
Thank You for your elegant solution. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 😉👍
“Boom, lookin for this?” “That kills every time I tell it”.
🤣🤣🤣
Ohh it’s a war machine story!! 😮 very good 💀🔨
😂😂😂
😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭☠️☠️☠️
*FIRST THING* I said when I saw him in Secret Invasion was “hey the pants aren’t glowing anymore and his limps gone, how has *NOBODY* called that out!”
Bc I’m TFATWS he didn’t have that tech either
@him1062 yes he did. It was poking through his pants
yeah Secret Invation rly messed things up, glad this happened
🥱
Glad what happened? That a load-bearing scene potentially explaining a huge plot-hole not only was pushed to a digital release but was scrapped altogether? Sorry brother but that's called Hopeium
not as messed up as Inhumans and Madame Web
@@SirsasthNigam. Or Morbius.
@@aydenparker911 What "plot-hole"? Rhodey being a skrull for longer than you might like isn't a plot-hole. That's called Hater-ade.
just retcon the rest at this point lmao, literally nothing in secret invasion made any sense
Exactly
Fr its not cannon in my head
Not only it makes any sense, but also have no follow up at all... Nick Fury from The Marvels was a totally different character 🫠
If I'd been able to stay awake for all of it, I'd probably agree with you.
@@adriel.013No Fury is his usual self in The Marvels, the reason he was different in Secret Invasion should be obvious, there was a Skrull Invasion, and once he got that settled of course he’s going to be much happier and relieved again.
They could have just went for the narrative that Rhodey was replaced during one of his checkup post-endgame, end of story. That way it doesn't take away any meaningful conversation/interaction he had before.
Which holds up with the idea he "went for an upgraded procedure." Could have been mere weeks earlier instead of years.
This was always the most likely thing to me. I don't understand why people assumed it was at Civil War when he's obviously had to go through years of physiotherapy and checkups after that point.
@@yuvi3000 Many people try too hard
@@yuvi3000 I think people got so fixated on Everett Ross' question of "How long have you been here?" giving them the impression that Rhodey was there for a long time and also the fact that he was being carried/assisted by 2 soldiers.
RHODEY WAS TAKEN AFTER THE ENDGAME FIGHT Gravik was STILL ON FURY'S SIDE DURING ENDGAME OR HE WOULDNT HAVE BEEN A PART OF THE HARVEST so Gravik couldn't have taken Rhodey before he turned on Nick Fury which was AFTER ENDGAME
Exactly, this is clearly the studio fixing the mistake that should've never happened. After this a complete reboot of secret invasion needs to happen.
This is it. There was no reason for him to be taken after civil war. Only after Endgame was Gravik against Fury
Exactly ... I felt from Marvel studio's pov this was pretty obvious but due to ali saleem's interview people took it out of proportion
@@thejaynesh In all honestly Ali Saleem probably should have kept his mouth shut about it when even he himself had no clue what he was talking about
@@tobiaslawrence8928It’s not the studio problem people are dumb. They say Roady in a hospital gown and completely freaked out thinking it meant he was one the entire time 😂😂😂.
The funny thing is, before Secret Invasion, everyone was having fun with the possibility of Rhodey being a Skrull since Civil War, or even the whole time. It wasn't so fun once it happened!
That's so true omg
That's because everything around it was subpar.
i just concern how secret invasion ending start riots everywhere, people killling people because they thought they re skrull almost make it ww3, but i'm sure it won't mentioned again just like tiamat corpse in eternals.
Can you guys believe they got that Skrull to act as well as Don Cheadle? ITS FIRST TIME EVER ACTING! They need to cast that skrull in more movies!
Sadly that poor skrull would just get type casted.
It? Skrulls have pronouns too
“BOOM, you looking for this?” killed me. 😂
I think the easiest way for them to explain the Skrull swap and make it fit without further messing things up is, that it happened during a regular checkup. After an injury of that level, tech legs or not, there's gonna be regular checkups and pt for a long time, possibly for the rest of his life depending on how he heals and progresses.
He went in for a "miracle procedure" and that's when they nabbed him.
Totally agree.
Naw
They should have left that scene in during Falcon and the Winter Soldier
Not JUST Skrodey being at the funeral, but literally being there with Tony in his FINAL MOMENTS. That just doesn’t sit right
he never used the war machine between Falcon/WinterSoldier and Secret Invasion is the most obvious clue when the switch happen
For me Rhodey was taken between the events of endgame and falcon and the winter soldier.
He more than likely had regular doctor/PT appointments after those movies, and scheduling to grab him during one would’ve been easy for the Skrulls to figure out was what I thought
Exactly! End of discussion
@@TYfariguyprecisely
I'd love if Armor Wars focused on the need for high end medical tech. I'm in a wheelchair and have two spinal stim units implanted in me and lots of screws and anchors. It would bring the MCU into real life circumstances like it never has before.
Now this is some DEI i can get behind.
Their biggest mistake was killing Maria Hill off. Fix that!
Raava's performance as Rhodey was so good that the jury thought it was Don himself, well done
I knew “Boom Looking for this” was going to find its way in somehow😂😂
Rhodey went in for a prostate exam , a skoll posed as a doctor, they snatched him up...problem solved
Canon!
Aliens do like probing, after all
Secret invasion is basically going to be like Highlander 2 we just don't talk about it
Or that "other" Avatar movie 🤣
There can be only one.
@@brianpainter6620 what "other" Avatar movie?
Gravik was still working under fury during endgame, so I see no ready for him to kidnap Rhodey atp in time. Rhodey most definitely was kidnapped AFTER endgame
It's crazy I've been saying that he got switched B4 falcon and the winter soldier. Rhody in end game was crawling and no one was watching
He had to roll out of the initial armor. I noticed
I had noticed he didn't have the braces in Falcon and Winter Soldier and thought that was when it might have happened.
He also had red blood coming out of a cut on his face
Worst part about secret invasion was it felt like it just didn’t matter. It mashed up two plots together and I wasn’t emotionally invested in either of them.
For me, it wasn't secret enough. Because I know about it.
after watching Secret Invasion, i just guessed that Rhodey got swapped out after Endgame. Probably during a doctor's appointment after tony's funeral because he got banged up during the battle
It makes sense that the Skrulls saw how high up on the chain of command Rhodey was after End Game, and had a shell company invite him to a special treatment for his injury, so Rhodey would have told people around him that he was going to this surgery to heal Then he goes to the place, they put him in a hospital gown, put him to sleep and they swap him for a skrull Now the Skrull can pretend he's fully healed It solves alot 😅
He wasn’t fully healed in Endgame
@@potsdam28 I never said he was, I said "AFTER End Game"
@@gazwilliams-nc7jp oh sorry
@@potsdam28 you better be haha
5:26 I laughed way harder than I wanted to at that. “Boom, you looking for this?” 🤣🤣
I always figured it was post End Game when the switch occurred. Everything pointed to Gravic not going off the deep end until the snap was reversed. A switch take place before that does make much sense.
This is great news. I was so off put by Secret Invasion's implication... well all of Secret Invasion actually. I really enjoy the hypothesis for the Armor Wars concept!
“Falling with style…” lol
I’ve known since release it took place after Endgame! Look at his head wound when Avengers Compound is collapsing on him in Avengers: Endgame. His wound is bleeding red, not purple, hence a human. It had to be after that
Great job on this video! I love your delivery 😅
First time i ever laughed at "BOOM!! U lookin for this?"
Boom! You lookin' for this? You almost caused me to die with laughter, that TIMING!
Noooo, the "Boom, you looking for this" made me spit out the last sip of coffee! 😂😂😂 the editor needs some love! They do some fantastic work for your content 👏
It’s funny because this exact criticism of skrulls happened with the original comic. Except it was wide number of characters like hank pym and spidermwoman.
Thanks for letting me know of a physical release for this
I thought that Rodey needed the leg braces to walk. If he didn't have the leg braces on when taken out of the capsule then he wouldn't be able to walk and therefore leave the timeline open to interpretation on when he was swapped out. I assume he would need multiple visits to the hospital to which a robe would be needed and it could have been at any of these times later in the timeline where the swap could happen.
Armor wars will stem from the fact that the stark tech has no real heir... as peter parker gets forgotten, who will inherit all that heroic tech and continue iron man's legacy.
Tony did call it a hightech prosthesis in the Senate inquiry of Ironman 2 when Cheadle first showed up as Rhodes
"boom you lookin' for this?" , i definitely wasn't 😂
After watching this, I’m so confused. Great video, so much information to process over time.
We also have a longer bucky and sarah scene or the last episode! I am so happy we got more bucky and sarah. And we got to hear what was happening at the party
Aaron Moten who plays Maximus on FallOut should be the next Kang! He would be perfect for the role
I legit just chalked up the dis-ease in leaving the skrulls’ facility and needing to be carried to muscle atrophy…
Not the 😂😂😂boom you looking for this!!! when he hit the ground lmfao
I was really excited about armor wars as a movie (I think the box office could be good money) and I like your idea; pretty cool. Deep too. Keep up the great work.
I thought it was obvious Rhodey was taken in Endgame. I was pretty sure Gravik was still on Nick's side to some extent up until Endgame but that was his breaking point because Fury disappeared to space right after Endgame. Wasn't there dialogue in one of the episodes where he inferred that Fury was his hero but he started to jade a bit over time but when he went to space that was the last straw? Otherwise why wouldn't Gravik just keep the DNA.
During the Marvels…Are they not at the treaty talks mentioned in secret invasion ?
Yes, so I don’t know why people act like it was referenced in the movie
@@smoovenorrisidk it drives me crazy like literally every KZheadr ignores it lol but maybe we’re just wrong and it was a different peace talk coincidentally??
Secret Invasion never happened, and Rhodey has always been Rhodey; G'iah, Tiamut, and Danny Rand are somewhere off in MCU purgatory with the whole Secret Invasion plot😂😂😂
That Celestial is gonna be used for Avengers Mountain and Genosha. If Marvel wants to piss people off, they could do some documentary on Tiamut, saying its state of matter is pure dark matter and unbreakable from carbon or physical means. The universe's dark matter actually exists so it's an easy explanation.
@bobbysworld281995 They're probably just going to do what they did in The Marvels and pretend like it didn't happen🤔🤫🤣
It’s getting the last Jedi treatment.
@@GabrielUrias420They didn’t pretend it didn’t happen in fact at the beginning Carole is going to Emporer Droge negotiations for Fury still looking for a Skrull home for the refugees.
@@Byronic19134 I know 😑 but they should have 🤷🏽♂️
Rhodey was one big mistake I wouldn’t have been able to defend at all. I’m glad Marvel is addressing that and fixing it so it doesn’t cheapen everything his character’s gone through.
Love this advertiser for one shot energy 😂 always makes me laugh
For me, I think it should be that 'Secret Invasion' Rhodey was a Skull since after 'The Falcon and the Winter Soldier', but it being he instead was Skull since after 'Avengers Endgame' is good enough me, but ABSOLUTELY DEFINITELY most CERTAINLY NOT him being a Skrull since freaking 'Captain America Civil War'.
Falcon did not dodge Vision's beam with a barrel roll.
What do you mean?
I don't want the F&WS scene to have been a skrull, either.
I didn’t watch secret invasion but the scene where Rhody gets taken in the hospital gown is when the skrulls intercepted, which would have taken place after endgame and that technology to do that was Tony’s gift to Rhody like the glasses were to Peter.
Personally I don’t care that secret invasion revealed Rhodes was a Skrull. It’s supposed to be a dire revelation. And it’s also kinda the whole point of the skrulls being shape shifters, you’re supposed to doubt whether your favorite heroes are really themselves or not.
It ruined his and Tony's character arcs
It completely ruins the death scene with Tony, his best friend wasn't even there for him at the end
@@SnowOntheThrone Admittedly it does ruins moments like that. But that's why it would make the most sense to have the switch happen sometime after endgame. There really isn't a reason why Rhodey has to be a skrull for like 5+ years. The "punch" of him being a skrull would be the same no matter the time. So that is why, they probably will write it like it happened after Endgame. Or... if they do make it longer than that... there better damn well be a good plot/writing reason in Armor Wars for why they do that.
Your right but you also need to be extremely careful about who you do this kind of thing to and when. Rhodey being replaced by a skrull was not a problem. Him having been taken since Civil war was going to be a massive one and needlessly retcons things for the sake of a twist.
I would agree if secret invasion was well executed. Because it was a big flop the reveal seemed cheap and disappointing.
5:25 friendly reminder not to eat/drink when watching these videos ... I almost choked from laughing 😂
when i watch secret invasion and knowingly rhodes is a skrull, i just taught to myself, it's post endgame switchup and not post civil war.
Well if you watch closely gravik gets all against fury after the harvest as gravik helped fury clean it up so thats why he knows about the harvest and that would mean he started taking people after endgame
Yay for rhodey!
"Boom! You looking for this" still gets me 😂
I could not care less about the Avengers side of Marvel anymore. Bring on the X-men and Fantastic Four, please!
Maybe "Armor Wars" is less about a suit of armor around the Earth itself, but a suit of armor for everyone on the planet...
I love Anthony Mackie in "Real Steel" such a great movie
I'm still caught up on 'physical media release'. I was really scared streaming sites would rarely if ever allow it. Thank goodness.
"Boom! You lookin' for this?"
Thank you for this! You are doing The Lord's Work, Eric!
I remember we all were arguing when it was that Rhodey was a skrull, I'm really glad that they released this to just placate all of us. There was no way that he was a skrull during the Infinity war saga. The absolute deceit to fans that it would have been, with Rhodey not being able to be at his friends funeral? There are plot twists and surprises, but that would have been utterly unacceptable
I’m glad this was cleared up. Rhodey’s blood was red in Endgame, which didn’t make sense if he was a skrull.
All Secret Invasion did was kill at least three loved characters, defile Nick Fury’s character and open an unmanageable can of mutant worms.
people are not getting it he did not get taken after civil war because in endgame when the avengers facility got attacked by thano's ship he was saying canopy to eject from his suit with red blood on his head
Yes! I like this explanation.
Actually, I don't mind if he's been a Skrull the whole time, but that is Palpatine-level acting and planning.
Good point.
Giah's biceps single handedly destroyed secret invasion series.
I didn't think Rhodey got swapped after Civil War like most people let to believe. Just think about it for a sec, when was Rhodey become useful and essential for Gravik covert ops. And when did Rhodey become US President advisor? And when did the Avengers scattered after the climax Battle of Earth? Just a couple of simple questions are enough now to give us ideas that what the director told us isn't true. The director messed up so hard and confuses a lot of fans by himself during podcast and interview. But still I'm glad that Marvel release this video for us at least try to tell us something that Secret Invasion never tell us
How about swapping out Secret Invasion with literally anything else
5:25 funniest call back ever
Oh damn, that 10:04 section would be such a nerd dropper if they introduced the tech as something named "Superior". I didn't think Superior Ironman would ever work in the MCU but hoo boy that would be a juicy thread to pull if someone was using Tony's legacy for extortion.
5:26 💥You looking for this? 😂😂😂
Peppy: That is not a barrel roll!
That retcon makes that bit of Secret Invasion a little better.
Bro I usually skip the ads but that energy drink ad had me cracking up lol
Ya know, sometimes Rhodey is Reiner. Nuff said - Stan Lee
The baby Thanos time travel scene was definitely skrull Rhodie.
Watching this just gave me a realization that the studio probably thought it was too straightforward that Rhodey was going to be a Skrull in secret invasion. In FatWS it slipped my mind that Rhodey wasn't wearing his brace. nor did I question it when I saw him walking around in SI until the end
How on earth could Don Cheadle get an Emmy nomination for a two-minute scene? 😮😂
I always thought it was kinda obvious. But it is cool that they filmed that scene and that it is now released in some way.
there was absolutely no implication in anything that he was replaced IN civil war, thats such a reach
😂😂 at "Get this clown off the organ donor list!" @11:33
It's crazy how one little thing like that changes everything
Oh, I really like your take on what Armor Wars should be
I completely agree, there is a lot of character resolution that the series writers could not fill. Fiege can answer some of that :D
Lets just act like Secret invasion was a bad dream 😂
“Boom you looking for this” is op
Secret Invasion is just a "What If" for me until proven otherwise.
Ngl.. gave up following the mcu story after shang chi.. got obvious they have absolutely no direction
Thank you for this video ❤
