people give this movie flack but i personally enjoyed it
I really enjoyed both of these movies. FF was always my favorite comics when I was young.
me too
Me too
Same!!
Love both films
The mirror scene with Johnny is peak comedy
the lisa simpson one...dead
Peak? If that's the case, then comedy is definitely dead
I’m hoping that Joseph Quinn does the 4 at the end of the movie
You expect to see the thing cause you saw him if rock shape in the trailers, so you expect the secondary effects to pop right away , but it hasnt yet, lol , it sure is a way to subvert expectations
The FF weren't NASA astronauts. They were a private group of explorers who defied the government and went into space on their own.
Just have fun with it. If NASA is in the movie them cool. This is a Marvel movie not a documentary.l😅
@@michaelpelaez7468 so you didn't actually watch the video
"Insulting a vanity fair reporter Into sleeping with him" What a sentence
Tony was just a different breed.
Idc what anybody ever says, The Thing’s practical outfit is so freaking good! It brings a real-ness to the F4 powers! Love it!
Me and my friend used to think that this was a bad movie, and then we watched it one night with the "f*ck it" mentality expecting it to be even worse than we remembered. After seeing it again, I honstely have no idea where we got that idea. It's great! Sure, not perfect, but a whole lot better than some MCU movies or X-Men movies. Ioan Gruffud is a great choice for Reed, Michael Chiklis was a good Ben Grimm (he played the tortured husband part really well), Jessica Alba is alright, but Chris Evans is just a joy on screen. His back-and-forth with Gruffud is peak Fantastic Four vibes, and all of them together really felt like a family at the end. This movie's problems were in writing and direction, otherwise it was great.
Ioan's face is still what compare to when i think of who could play Reed
Absolutely, include the Incredibles in this rewatch. Maybe they won’t pop up in Secret Wars but there are definitely lessons that would apply. Elasitgirl and Violet especially use their powers in ways that are so much more creative than any “real” F4 movie ever has.
Why would the incredibles be in secret wars
@@xcratesDisney
Also include The Incridibles 2
@@xcratesbc the incredible are a very inspired by the fantastic 4
incredibles in secret wars 😂
I really love how Reed even goes, “Johnny, supernova!” and Johnny goes, “I thought we agreed that was bad?!” while Reed has doomed wrapped up.
These movies really were great movies almost makes me wish this was what became the mcu idk just somthing about them felt just right
😂 me too that was really good
The way he pronounced The Commish was hilarious.
🎶No need to fear, they're here! Just call the Four! Fantastic Four! Don't need no more! That's ungrammatical!🎶
🎶reed richards is elastic, sue can fade from sight, johnny's the human torch, the thing just loves to fight🎶
@@PDX-Redo plot aos many m😅😅😮 kk m in
I think we will see Chris Evans human torch again!
Its possible
in Deadpool & Wolverine perhaps with Pyro (in the chain mask)
God I hope so
@@erikfinkel2717 yeah like Changing Tatum ass in this is the end
@@linehult_bricks huh?
11 yr old me loved this movie I still can remember my dad & sister watching this with me and the sequel ❤❤❤
Julian McMahon was actually a great Victor von doom and I wish we could see him come back .
He was awesome. He’d just starred in Charmed which has cult status
Definitely got Doom's theatrical flaire down perfectly
Me too. He fit the role perfectly. The ego, the vanity, the ruthlessness, everything
I for one agree with you. The Imcredibles should absolutely be apart of the look back rewatch series.
One of the superhero movies I know everybody hates, but I actually enjoyed, especially as a child
I enjoyed anything superheroes as a kid, no matter how shitty it turned out to be. I don't say this movie was shitty, though.
@@enoyna1001its a decent film, only really shitty when viewed as an attempt to adapt the Fantastic Four. Viewed in a vacuum as just a superhero movie, its quite alright.
I don’t know if anyone else thinks about it this way but i think that maybe a big reason behind why Chris Evans was cast as Steve Rogers in Captain America: The First Avengers was due to the fact that Chris had previously worked with Marvel on Fantastic Four and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Sliver Surfer
I’m hoping Johnny and Ben’s relationship is like this in the MCU. That is one of the best parts of the comics.
I did like how these movies got their banter down Also Pebbles was a nickname Johnny always called Ben in comics
27:04 “compare this with pixar’s fantastic four” took me a sec to figure out he said that lol
Me too. I thought I was trippin
The Thing and Kerry Washington reinacting Lionel Richtie's Hello video 🤣
Chris Evans was fantastic in this movie
Fantastic 4 what?
@@andrewpariat9263 for his portrayal of Johnny Storm
I unironically like this movie. It's goofy, yeah, but the casting for the F4 is pretty good overall, especially for Reed and Ben.
Would have to say, as far as "on-point casting" goes, Johnny was far and away best; Reed & Ben were tied for 2nd; J.Alba's Sue was kinda weaksauce.
Well, it was this movie that got me into superheroes so it holds a special place in my heart.
It's more fun to watch someone who actually likes the film to review it, ijs. FYI, if we're goingbto critique characters for makeup in combat/space/inappropriate situations we'll be here all day.
19:09 he actually sweared i thought a beep was gonna be there?
17:34 I like how this shot reminds of the first live action TMNT movie of Raph wearing pretty much the same thing 29:19 Just like what Storm said to Toad in the first X-Men movie
Did not see this in theaters but after being a good kid (i was not) at the dentist for a cavity 🦷 i was awarded a MR FANTASTIC toy from this film at target. Still one of my favorites back home i have
Favorite superhero movie of all time. Something about watching this movie when I was a kid when we only had hulk and just falling in love
Please include The Incredibles into the rewatch! Love and appreciate all the NR crew!
Another nod, Ben calls Victor Scarface, like the titular Al Pacino character of the same name. The more you know.
Im not even lying when I say that I just watched these two movies this weekend and tried to find videos like this but no one has done it... But then comes you guys 1 day later and give me what I needed😂❤️
I absolutely loved how the thing looked in these movies. Practical was definitely the way to go
This is where I fell in love with Kerry Washington. 😍😍
You are absolutely correct to include a review of Incredibles in this FF rewatch. The Incredibles is still the best FF movie we have yet, and it's the bar that the MCU FF has to clear.
they don't have to do better than incredible. just actually stick to the source materials/characters and make a good story!
@@MichaelSmith-dk1lc Well, the same thing that knocked the FF off the comic shelves for some years, is Marvel's fear that current readers/viewers aren't interested in the Family-oriented, Big Science-themed, Exploration/Discovery over Superhero-ing elements that have been the mainstay of FF for the majority of their existence.
@@dphalanx7465 marvel always seem to try to advertise the f4 as less as possible, but at least it's something different with different story elements than most mcu films (depending on what story they write of course). Almost every pixar movie is a family oriented adventure film or personal exploration of identity. and they are beloved. same can go for the f4 if they can stop themselves from changing everything that made the characters stand this long
I loved the practical effects on the Thing. CGI is great and can be done well but I have a great appreciation for the practical effects
I genuinely love this movie. It was one of the movies that really got me interested in Marvel and superheroes as a whole
Doom and Sue have been romantically linked a couple times in the comics actually.
thank you for actually breaking down the comic flip-through in the marvel logo, i’ve always been curious about it
I too usually get naked to get through crowds. In fact, I insist on it!
One other thing to point out, the object in Von Doom right hand of the statue, reminds me of the Tesseract.....
This movie and the sequel were my first introduction into the four. Because like some people my knowledge of superhero’s at the time was through movies, shows, and sometimes online research. Also the reason why pyrokinesis and elasticity are my favorite powers.
I've been waiting for this one!! I love the 2005 Fantastic Four movie. 💙💙💙
One of the funny things that stuck with me from this movie was when Victor is proposing to Sue, he says something about "four words that will change your life forever," (Ie. Will you marry me) but then Reed runs in and says "The cloud is accelerating" ....... four words that changed their life forever :D
Just started the video; been looking forward to this rewatch. For all of the faults the Tim Story movies had, the Doom mask and Silver Surfer's introduction were fantastically realised.
I have fond memories of seeing this with my dad and brother. Got me into the F4 in the first place, so, flawed it may be, it was an excellent gateway drug for 7 year old me.
happy 420 everyone!
How did this get here 👀
Yes absolutely include the Incredibles please! To be honest, if for no other reason than because they are great movies 😅
YES. INCLUDE THE INCREDIBLES!
19:09 damn no censoring
thanks for another banger! AND YESS rewatch the Incredibles
Human Torch will return in Deadpool 3
As Chris or Michael?
@@theflashfan4556 Chris Evans as Human Torch in Deadpool 3
Okay
@@manassesnascimento4483 You're just randomly going on Marvel videos saying random people from past Marvel films are going to return in future films. You're just a troll.
My dad was able to get an unreleased official cd of the really old fantastic four. He is so proud of having a movie that was never properly released.
I recently rewatched this movie and I loved it even more! Especially the relationship between Johnny and Ben.
They showed Phoenix for the opening Marvel logo of this movie and X-Men 97 as the fantastic four in the animation... opening
Hearing you guys quote Sum 41 is hilarious 😂❤
Micro as the Thing.
I don't know if we need it or not but I'm going to say because I NEED IT.😂 very much looking forward to the incredibles video.
18:22 ... in the WHAT??
17:33 The practical effects for The Thing look great in this film. I definitely expect them to go for CGI in the MCU tho lol, & I'm sure it'll look amazing.
I don’t know whether to watch these 2 films for Deadpool & Wolverine
Was not expecting this, but I'll take it 😅
At 21:00 the info on Ben and Sue looks like it came from the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe which was an encyclopedia of every Marvel character and major locations that came out in the eighties.
Engagement
Something to get me through these trying times
The Thing suit was incredibly well done I still buy it to this day
That Wolverine vfx on Reed looked so odd im glad they kept it as just him making his jaw more chiseled 😂
Yes please include the Incredibles please 🙏
5:48 yes
...wow, that Dr. Phil impression was far better than it had any right to be haha
The story set in the ’60s is how the '90s Fan4 looked anyway! Bam! Pow! Real Adam West feel. I have Corman’s film and the documentary done, as well as these 3 and the making of this one!
18:21 I kid you Not... I always thought it was the actor who played Mr Aziz in Spiderman2
The Commish as in The Commissioner
"In the CAHH-mish". That killed me. (It's cuh-MISH, short for police commissioner.)
Don’t care what nobody say , this FF is the one that introduced me to them and ima forever love this movie .
One of my favourite movies. And actors.
24:39 that is one of the creepiest things I’ve seen in a while. This legit gave me a jump scare. I’m really glad they kept that out. 😅
Evans is the best Johnny. Periodt.
Jon Hickman's Secret Wars, doom was married to sue
And he was a step father to Valeria and Franklin. Shit creeped me out.
Happy 420
Fantastic Four (2005) and its sequel along with Daredevil (2003) and Elektra (2005) are certainly products of their early to mid 2000's time. But hey, the casting the mostly spot on in both cases even if the scripts for all four movies were never quite top shelf writing. Thanks for the memories 20th Century Fox. Can't wait to see what's brought back for "Deadpool & Wolverine".
Avi Arad ruined all these movies
@@Zombiesnyder13 Now I never said they were good.
F4 My first DVD MOVIE, AND IT'S FANTASTIC
plot wise the movie is pretty formulaic, like they met the "amusement park ride" criticism ahead of it time 😂 but i really enjoyed it back then and still now, especially every scene with Chris Evans being an obnoxious little brother to Sue and Ben. "What's wrong with you?!😠" "What?😧"
18:30 the COM-ish lmao
Delancy St. is to Yansy St. Same as Arlen Tx. is to Arlington Tx. (King of the Hill)
I used to shop on Delancey Street in the early '70s when I was in high school. They had excellent deals on leather jackets. 😉
Recently went back and watched this last week, it still holds up today (yes there are some issues but it wasn't having money thrown at it)
Referring to "The Incredibles" as "Fantastic Four" was a nice accidental touch.
Good video
Yes yes I knew u we’re gonna do it !!!
You know the good thing about the 2015 Fantastic 4 reboot, it made us appreciate these movies all the more
after having watched Not Another Teen Movie, and then seeing Chris Evans in this film, i was like 😮🤭😂
Just rewarched this movie yesterday
I love these films tbh. They're not perfect, & they may not be completely comic book accurate, but they're always very entertaining to watch. I especially love how badass they are & their family dynamic - I can't wait to see them introduced in the MCU.
It might just be because I was 7 when this movie released, but I absolutely love this film.
Yes please do The incredibles in this series ❤
12:53 Now I will have “Dental Plan, Lisa needs braces” stuck in my head the rest of the day.
We need to see Chris Evan’s again in the fantastic four in the multiverse. Secret wars would be perfect Him meeting the Avengers would be classic.
Honestly I like this movie and I think the tone suits but the acting expert for Chris wait ok For the 2000s
30:25 I think the MCU Fantastic Four coming from an alternate universe in the 60's would raise a lot of questions tbh, i.e.: - why wouldn't they be trying to get back to their home universe? - what happened to their home universe? was it destroyed? if so, why were they the only ones to survive? - are there 616 variants of the Fantastic Four that exist today or existed in the 60s? - are they gonna be a fish out of water (like Steve Rogers) if they're from the 60s? etc
Why does Reed Richards look so much like Pedro Pascal at 2:40?
he was casted
