For a very long time I wanted to build something grandiose and the developers of the World of Tanks game helped me with this.

The amount of work it takes to make this minitank is overwhelming!! The result is simply superb! As a scout driver, I would put a front and bottom camera, one back and bottom, both for driving in rough terrain, and an auxiliary up top for reconnaissance. I would also take the opportunity to expand the turret. put an electric motor for basic electrical functions, fog lights, a couple of fans for heat. Many will say: a few more things and you have a Bradley!

This is so freaking impressive. You are one hell of a clever, creative individual. Theres really no words to describe how awesome this is. I was watching without volume. I only needed to watch. If you were explaining it, I couldn't hear and you always had me wondering what you were coming up with as you built the tank.

Respect for this man, he spent months building a tank from scratch. Doing all this work includes many mistakes that may cause stress but he pushed through, for his son.

I love how you can lock the turret In place so it doesn't just spin around, the effort you gave for the tank suspension is alot and respectable for your determination.
That's esepcially important for transporting it on the trailer, I think! That's how it is with real tanks and excavators anyways.

Great build! I especially like when you're starting a section you use hand gestures to explain the next part of the build.
My dad when I asked him for a bike as a Christmas gift…. Made me a bike out of scrap metal! I’ll never forget the look of satisfaction when he saw me riding it for the first time! And how the neighbor kids all wanted one, it ended up being a whole ass project that lasted the summer… best childhood memory!
I totally thought that this would look very backyard build quality. This legit looks like a prototype you would see a multimillion-dollar military company do. I play WOT and it would be cool for WG to put this as a design for a lower-tier light tank. When I was a kid I had a dirtbike. This is so next level. Awesome job.

In Japan, if you want to handcraft a car, you have to apply to the city hall or the government and pass the standards set by the government. Also, depending on the size of the car, you have to specify the roads to be used, which makes me envious of other countries.

I remember making a tank for my young son. Mind you, his tank was smaller and was made out of cardboard. Still, he had fun with it.
That drill press indexer is handy to have. Without it the accuracy of the project is in jeopardy. Great job. It is wonderful to see the fruits of imagination become reality plus you maintain the hero dad status which is the most important thing
I am awestruck. I’ve built some complicated machines in my time, from scratch and of my own (and business partners) design, but this is galaxies away from anything I could even IMAGINE building. My hat is off to you, sir. Wow. Genius I’m sure you don’t have time to respond to these questions, but I would love to know what your background is. I am speechless. This is one of the most involved and interesting builds i have ever watched and I have watched a LOT. So frigging cool.
Adding a target with a break circuit to the camera would make this a really interesting thing at a paintball game, other players could render the shooting system of the tank useless by shooting the target forcing the driver to exit the tank, but the tank would still be a massive threat in a game. Could be very cool to play against.
Don't even need to add a target to break the circuit on the camera. Just shooting the lens would render the weapon basically unusable. If it's going to be driven in an actual match though, you would need to encase the camera to prevent damage to it, and that would effectively increase the size of the target to hit to render the camera inoperable.
Among the most ridiculously awesome videos I have seen on YT. My internet was acting up so could only watch at very low resolution but still enjoyed every bit of the video.

I only went paintballing once and it was woods ball. Apparently the field we were on did milsim style games as well with specific scenarios and had converted a bobcat into a paintball tank with what looked like a potato gun for the main turret. No idea what the hell you could shoot out of it that would be okay to hit a person with but it looked cool.
This is one of the coolest projects I've ever been privileged to witness on KZhead, besides that guy who renovates a lot of old stuff to like new. You are, without a doubt, one of the best dads I've ever met on youtube. 👍 Your son has so much love in his family, he must be a special kid. Outwardly, that vehicle built does remind me of an M114 AFV (and to some extent the Wiesel AWC and also the East German KinderPanzers). And I must say, I tip my hat to you for creating such a fine machine out of scrap good Sir. Respect!

Great project, reminds me of my father, who built me a go-kart with a racetrack. He had to drain a whole swamp meadow for this. I'm 58 now and I still think about it. What a lot of work. Your son will also remember what a great father he had. Well, I'm a blacksmith and while watching your video I thought over time that the tank had become quite heavy. You probably need a stronger motor now? Another suggestion how about an integrated compressor pump. An electronic telescopic sight with a monitor and so on... it's all a matter of mamon, of course. Probably one of neatest videos I've seen on KZhead. The craftsmanship, editing, and hand signals instead of babble. Love it.
What is even more incredible to me is that he always knows what to do next and how to do it.
14:39 when that happens, have a milling bit handy. Go to the other side, and using the milling bit (which should be smaller than the actual drill bit) dip a hole slowly until you've touched the tip of the drill bit (you'll know). Then, using some drill rod (always have some drill rod for punch work in the shop) punch the broken drill bit out from the other side. If the part needs to be clean on the other side, just thread that small hole, put a bolt in, cut it off and sand the surface. Nobody will ever know.
You are incredibly talented, and your son is very lucky to have a father like you! Been playing World of Tanks since Beta, love the game very much as well, I play it with my twin boys and they love it as well. You did an absolute amazing job!
As a former US Army 19K (M1 Abrams crewmember), I wholeheartedly approve of this build! People need to start building more paintball tanks. This could totally be a new sport. It'd be like Girls und Panzer, but better. In fact, World of Tanks could sponsor it. I'm sure there be other sponsors, too. I know there'd be an audience, for sure.

If you’re into that, you can watch real tank championships (originated in Russia) with international teams competing (NATO never joins though). It’s a lot of fun, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.

The sheer imagination of the guy is amazing. Doing the grind, all the parts. Using low tech and high tech. The guy has a power washer, but not a paint gun? I am a cnc machinist and this guy is epic on doing it all by hand.
I'm not sure how having a pressure washer is shocking but him not having a paint gun is...? Pressure washers are cheap and common... not many have paint guns.
