The rest of the world is pretty good at recycling parts especially automotive or electronic. America is traditionally the throw-away society. People toss a perfectly good PC into a landfill because it doesn't have enough RAM any more, but in other countries they scrape the tiny grams gold flake off old burnt out electronics to recycle lol. Pretty much anything can be fixed, but when it comes to cars or motors, literally everything can be fixed. Just look around youtube at the people who make budget race car builds from pic-a-part and junkyards

You never see a laptop come out to design anything. Mr Ho just sits it in place then his eye, and smart brain does all the laptop work and calculations. Zap here zap there and you have a brand new fabricated part you would never find in a shop without paying a fortune for it. When I think about all the high tech tools and machines we use in the western world to rebuild engines, I watch Mr Ho do it the old skool way, it makes me think, even If you turn back the clock, there weren't too many engineers in the western world who could do what Mr Ho can on his own. Even by today's standard. Mechanics in Australia these days won't even batter an eye lid at a rebuild job if it isn't a plug and play or with the aid of a laptop & software 🤦 Thank you Mr Ho for schooling us on how it's done old skool 🙏you are the man!!!

The sheer level of skill to do all of this is almost beyond imagination. I do a lot of stuff...woodworking, carpentry, welding, small engine repair, etc. I can do a lot, and I'm absolutely in awe of your talent. Restoring that ceased, rusted, flooded, barnacle infested engine is so impressive I almost can't believe it's real. Then, you weld up a new drive shaft and rudder. Then you do new panel work. Then you make a fiberglass shell. Then you put a finish on it in your back yard, but it looks like it just rolled out of a professional paint shop. I'm almost at a loss for words. This is just incredible.

Technical workers from first world countries labor are expensive. So I understand why most of them will buy something brand new (also to avoid the hassle) and toss away the old one which could be fixed. My dad who is a Mechanical Engineer from Philippines moved to the U.S and worked as a maintenance tech. He often saw his American coworkers throw out parts with minor defects or the ones that were still useable with no problem but just old. He was shocked to see that and thought how wasteful they were in his mind but just kept it to himself. He got used to it later on because their hourly wage was worth more than those items.
@blackwater7183 Жыл бұрын
@@blackwater7183 I completely agree, I myself have done the same thing many times. I’m the lead farm hand/equipment manager for our sod farm. A lot of the times it’s cheaper to just buy new and replace, especially when you factor in the cost for wages and the money your currently losing. But working on a farm, there’s many times you can’t go buy a new part or replacement, sometimes it’s a homemade part or the company doesn’t make it anymore, so you just have to “figure it out”!

Back at home, he used to own a company until it all burned down which costs him millions of dollars and never recovered from it.

I’m pretty sure we all saw that motor and thought. “I wonder what part he’s gonna salvage from that cuz ain’t no way he’s using that motor”

You never see a laptop come out to design anything. Mr Ho just sits it in place then his eye, and smart brain does all the laptop work and calculations.

Our boat spent 7 days at sea and finally reached Indonesia water. That engine was still functioning like new.
Respect to your dad and the other 4 man!!!
Amazing Family story
RESPECT TO YOU ALL!
God Bless Your Dad!!
Thought that the way he balanced the engines was a stroke of genius 🎉🎉
I don't know about "Yacht" but that is a cool little boat that seems to work quite well. And to have built it himself is a big hats off for taking stuff that would normally be going into a "landfill" and finding a new use for it! The ultimate form of recycling! Give this man a medal! And something we should all learn how to do!
Yeah, it's kinda small for a yacht. What he made was just a small boat. Maybe next time he can size up and make a proper yacht. 😉
Это не лодка а катер.
Медаль уже в пути! ☝😂
It has a bed in it , it’s a yacht man.
@@pizzaguyvlogs1630 LOL! Just because I can sleep in my car doesn't make it a mobile home. 😉 Seriously though, the guy made a cool little speedboat but a yacht is something completely different. I still commend him for his efforts though.
I can't even begin to explain how this man can take to most destroyed parts and make them new again, a moter that beat and water logged and make it look and run like new and the entire build I'm just lost for words!!!! Amazing!! The world needs more people like you in it!!!!
J
indeed. most mechanics dont even begin on that anymore... too much work, and chance of failure of parts. better to just replace with new parts often that is cheaper, but its very nice to see this craftsmanship of engine restoration
That's a testament to Isuzu diesels and ihi turbos. Some of that was cringy. But I have new respect for those motors.
Well he’s not afraid of work so he’s not a Democrat!
Patience, I work on shit like this all the time but my problem is I get mad to easy. Lol. But I get it done. But forreal time and patience and people like us never pay someone else to work on our shit so we know it's done right
My jaw dropped several times watching this. The intricacy of the gears, springs, seals, etc., and all salvaged and reassembled is something you may never see again to that level.
So fake
This gentleman is a dam genius. He has the skills to take old motor apart then clean them up each part then put them back together...I have never seen anyone does That kind of work .that amazing dude wow
С восхищением наблюдал за работой! Талантливый человек, талантлив во всём! Есть одно высказывание: "Титаник построили инженеры, а Ковчег любитель."
I genuinely thought there was no way that engine could be saved. It was incredible to see the transformation

Hurry up and destroy Ukraine. Im sick of people pretending like Ukraine is winning the war. Finish them. Slam your boot down into their throats and end this.
Very impressive, all of it, but especially the engine rebuild. I would never have believed that anything could have been done with an engine in that condition.
I particularly liked how the mixture of oil, detergent and water drained directly into the floor. The world doesn't need this damn groundwater, luckily there are heroes who mess it up. Congratulations!
Bro really mixed all the nuts and bolts and still managed to put the engine back together, actual god tier
im sure he is a mechanic & knows that engine well! I can do the same with a 2-stroke dirt bike engine but with that engine yea id be lost
You said it
Or he bought new bolts since the old ones were so rusted they wouldn’t be able to be torqued like that
@@2stroketyson79 he must be a mechanic specialized in nautica.
The way he took everything apart and didn’t sort them to their groups tells me this man knows everything about what he’s doing, must have a very high IQ
I have never seen someone with so many multiple skills. I would not wonder, if there was a motor restauration specialist, different ship specialist, mechanics, electricians and other specialists involved. But doing this all alone? What a talented man he is, what a genius and knowledge this man has. Brilliant!

Do not believe everything your eyes tell you. If i was making this video, i would show the barnacle infested engine, work on it a little - then use one that was already rebuilt 😉
I reckon this guy IS a professional ;)

I'm a farmer in the U.S., and I've always been taught to fix things instead of replacing/buying new. I honestly think this is what keeps me coming back to your channel. That and watching someone do a lot of the work I find myself doing or very similar is interesting. especially seeing how you do some task "mechanics" need specialized tools for. lol
i know right... give this man some chisels, a wire wheel, some diesel and some paint and this is what he can do.
@@ButterfatFarms Yea, that "trying to salvage" everything mentality was hard for him to let go for a couple of years. When he drives by stuff on the curb the neighbors were throwing out like old appliances, electronics, furniture, etc. he would sometimes take some home even though he doesn't need any of it. 😅 It really took some time for him to adjust, his whole life style changed not only because of the move. Back at home, he used to own a company until it all burned down which costs him millions of dollars and never recovered from it. It didn't help China was rapidly rising at that time and started to monopolize the whole manufacturing industry. Now he is an American patriot.
