  • I live in Land O Lakes Florida, my next door neighbor is Vietnamese and at 82 still works outside every day where he and his wife grow most of their food. He was a political prisoner for five years and one of the most awesome people I have had the pleasure of knowing. They bring me great Vietnamese food to celebrate certain times of the year , great hard working people.

Intellectual people who fight write articles on Facebook, creating content that exposes the corruption of the authorities. Some know but cowardly do not react. The rest are fanatical and ignorant in following vietcong...like the Korean people and their leaders. Vietcong called on people of Vietnamese origin abroad to send money back but still pulled the strings for a group of public opinion commentators to incite and curse them for doing nails. I find Vietnamese people really cowardly

  • Here in the Philippines, FIRST CLASS WOOD is VERY EXPENSIVE, hence, it cannot be considered as "scratch". I am amazed that first class wood in Vietnam is just SCRATCH.

    • This is not the way wooden boats are "generally" sealed. Wooden boats are caulked with a special stranded cotton fiber tightly packed between the planks and all around the sims with a caulking iron and mallet. then sealed with a compound. When the boat goes on the water, the planks swell and tighten. This provides a flexible connection between the planks allowing them to move, shrink, and swell while maintaining the integrity of the hull. it is very labor intensive, but it's the long-standing way since the Vikings set sail in the open sea.

  • The same is done n or was done on the beach in Manta Ecuador. I lived there for 6+years n saw several wooden boats constructed there. Incredible skills n experience needed to build these wooden ships. N saw a few boats launched.. Bless All always n forever and ever 😊

  • Very nice workmanship. Nice to watch such a large ship being made just as they have done for years and years. Interesting that they have adapted fibre glass and resin to protect the wood planking from the enviornment. Sur prolongs the life of the vessel for many years. Beautiful... Great video.

    • The working condition are horrible and unsafe, no safety precautions and these workers got injured all the times, no compensation, you can see they have no construction shoes, just flip flop, no hard hat, etc.

  • The work they all did is worth watching. You can see the quality of the work and the consistency of the design. If that were my boat i would be proud to take it up and down the river and enjoy what has been created. Having the wood types to do such a wonderful build is very impressive. All of the men know exactly what to do and never miss a beat and doing it well. I am very impressed.

    • I don't think they'll show that in the video. I assure you that the shipwright I know has sustained some sort of injury with appropriate working clothes and in a safe working environment. It's part of the trade. I'm nervous just looking at them work. Good shipwrights, but how many of them actually last long in the job under such environment?

    • Về cách thức thực hiện thì không khác nhiều đâu bạn, chỉ là bây giờ có máy móc phụ giúp nên công việc sẽ nhanh hơn, những cây đinh tán bằng kim loại thay thế cho đinh gỗ thì tàu được bền hơn.... Còn cách thức thực hiện không khác đi nhiều đâu, bao năm nay vẫn vậy và chúng tôi tin rằng nghề này được truyền lại từ đời này sang đời khác...kể cả những việc cúng bái, tâm linh phía sau công việc này mà video chưa đề cập đến...đó cũng là thừa kế từ thế hệ trước.

  • Đây là nghề đóng thuyền vận tải đánh bắt cá biển xa bờ của người dân Việt Nam.. Nghề đóng thuyền thủ công này đã có ở Việt Nam từ rất lâu rồi, Việt Nam là đất nước có đường biển dài và từ thời xưa các ngư dân đã tự đóng cho mình những con thuyền gỗ như này để ra khơi đánh bắt cá..! Thuyền được làm bằng gỗ rất bền, nó có độ bền lên đến 50 năm và giá thành làm ra nó thì rẻ hơn thuyền thép rất nhiều..! Ở Việt Nam và các nước đông nam á có nhiều nước cũng sử dụng thuyền gỗ để đánh bắt cá ngoài biển, ngoài Việt Nam ra còn có Philippine, Indonesia và Thailand cũng có những nơi đóng thuyền gỗ thủ công như này..! Việt Nam những năm gần đây ngành đóng tàu thuyền đi biển đang phát triển rất mạnh mẽ..!
