    • the reality is that automation in manufacturing is way more complicated than folks think. it has to be an incredibly repeatable task that can be executed without any adjustments, perfectly, every time. most processes require some level of human adjustment and correction, even if something doesn’t seem like it at first. to a human, being 1mm off doesn’t matter in many circumstances. for a machine, 1mm can be enough to cause total complete failure or a crash.

    • It's part of the business alliance between Yamaha and Volvo, Yamaha supplies V8 engines to Volvo, etc. Yamaha Motor and Yanmar have a mutual supply relationship in the boating business. Under this arrangement, Yamaha Motor supplies the main bodies of unmanned industrial helicopters to Yanmar, and Yanmar supplies Yamaha with sprayers for liquid and granular agents. The two companies also have a business alliance in the ROV (Recreational Off-Highway Vehicle) business in the U.S. Starting in December 2016, the multi-purpose Yamaha ROV models "VIKING" and "VIKING VI (VIKING SIX)" will be supplied to Yanmar has been selling these products since January 2017, utilizing its sales network for farmers in the United States 🛥
