Here I make a Vessel from a gnarly root ball cast with epoxy resin coloured with antique silver mica powder ..
I think the root was from a Spruce tree which must have had dirt and stones embedded in it, as the inside was brutal to try and hollow out. The walls are a lot thicker than I would have liked but I think it turned out quite cool in the end ..Thanks for watching.

Is it just me, or does anyone else find the resin strings flying around immensely satisfying?
It must have been bitten by a radioactive spider...
some serious mould effect going on by the looks of it. very satisfying
It reminds me of Silly String. I admit makes me giggle a bit.
Looks like Silly String.
Holly Dill Not just you

This the kind of meditative content I want while stuck at home durin this outbreak.... Thanks !
Just when I think I’ve already seen the most beautiful thing you’ve made, I come across this vase and stand corrected. THIS is positively breathtaking. Thank you letting us see your immense talent.
OK, KZhead. You won this time! Thanks for recommending this.
You really gonna let KZhead take you over? That's not how it works around here...
Such type of craftsmanship requires a lot of practice, dedication and immense focus
This piece ranks in my top 5 of all of the pieces that i have seen turned on KZhead! Absolutely stunning,
That is so beautiful, who would realise a chunk of gnarly old wood could turn onto such a wonderful vase!
You are A true artist and I can't believe there's over 3,000 thumbs down. Envy is so obvious
i can't imagine why, I really wonder if its an algorithm or something , why would 3k dislike this ??
@@diego1776 pretty sure the dislikes are out of a misunderstanding of how the system works, instead of using the don't show me tab, they dislike as a way to deter KZhead from showing this to them again.
Probably tree huggers 😂
I don't disagree, but Nature is the co-author of this piece of art.
Does it matter? Maybe they like clay or acrylics...
I dont know why wood and colorful resin pieces look so elegant and exotic to me. Earthy and beautiful.
Hear! Hear!
Because manmade designed made from nature is always beautiful and you have good eye for beauty.
I have to admit that I have never been a real fan of resin use in woodturning but I have to admit that this piece is Stunning. I am a retired, disabled Senior Master of Art (teacher) from South Australia & have only recently started watching woodturning videos & now watch them constantly. I find that this piece struck me as a real Work of Art. Congratulations on your workmanship & design. Don
Thanks Don 👍
Jeez I also watch them a lot, does that mean I am becoming an old man too🤔
Again, your choice of colors absolutely amazes me! Turning a chunk of firewood into a work of art suitable for any palace is simply beyond amazing!
WoW... it turned out absolutely gorgeous. The silver mica powder is stunning, but combined with the wood is really beautiful.
The resin confetti strings are so festive looking as they fly through the air.
Agree
No need for a confetti launcher get someone to carve a resin ball at your party
Moms spaghetti is back on the plate for dinner!
Lauren Holloman ta pas tord
I'd love to see the resin shavings used in a project
This looks amazing! Love the way the silver almost looks like Mercury seeping through the cracks. Just awesome. Well done you!
I’m a carpenter and LOVE working with wood . I want to do this so bad after watching these videos .... you are truly an artist Andy !!!
Amazing workmanship! A worthless piece of scrap turned into a beautiful work of art! 👍 💖
The fact that you can the log into beauty. I'm taking this hobby up because of you and Matt Jordan. Thanks.
Wow, you turned that “would be” firewood into something beautiful. Nice job.
So beautiful!!! You are so gifted. Silence is beautiful. Sara
All I can say is WOW!!!! To turn something so ugly into something so stunningly beautiful simply, leaves me speechless. My Best. Out.
Ugly?? I think the wood looked so beautiful 😂
@@jepulis3012 exactly!
This is absolutely stunning. The grain and how it blends with the swirling resin is brilliant. Great job 👏👍
An absolutely gorgeous piece!! The black/Grey resin complements the wood grain perfectly. A true work of art, well done!
There is something very soothing about watching you create something out of a lump of wood. Thanks for taking the time to share with us!
Wow. You are a magician in addition to an incredible artist. I’m in awe of what you created with that multi-armed log.
I've lived quite a long time on this planet, I'm an artist myself, but I have never seen anything as beautiful as this appear before my eyes at the hands of a highly skilled artisan - a Master of his trade, my heart is still beating quickly from this event, God Bless.
Have to say that this is truly beautiful.....LOVE the colour, & the shape is timeless & classical. Absolutely stunning, an amazing piece of art!
Fascinating to watch... Gives me a Zen moment during a busy day. Thank you. God bless your gift and talent.
Absolutely gorgeous. I think it may be my favorite. Great job Andy!
Watched the whole thing mesmerized, that’s a YT recommendation win. Nice work!

I never wished I was someone else but after watching your amazing art demonstration, I have to say I would trade in a minute for that ability you have.
I have never before seen such excellent tool skills. One can only appreciate it when seeing the continuous resin peeling away. For sure a Master of Craft.
Hauntingly beautiful! The resin has the appearance of mist or fog.
You know resin is shit when maker needs gas mask during wood turning.
@@mikakorhonen5715 Tell me a good resin that is healthy to breath
Don't know why this was recommended to me but it was great to watch. Beautiful end product
as gorgeous as wood turning can be there is just something that adding resin that takes that beauty up a notch.
That is just pure beauty! Thank you for sharing.
This is other-worldly. Love how you transform the wood and resin into something completely different.
i watch your videos every night before bed, they put me in such a tranquil mood. thank you, Mr. Phillips for your wonderful artwork❤️❤️
I get baked and watch your videos before I sleep. They are soooooo relaxing! Beautiful work too!
Truly gorgeous turning from an initially inauspicious piece of wood.
Very beautiful!!! I can only imagine how stunning it would be with flowers inside. 🌼 🌹
I’ve been watching an unhealthy amount of these videos lol... AMAZING
Me too
Yeah same here, makes my soul calm😌
That means you're suffering with procrastination and depression.
Lol!! It means its giving you hope that beauty can come from a mess in the right hands!!
What an elegant, swirling world you've made.
Stunningly gorgeous and wonderfully mesmerizing! Thank you.
Stunning work. I sat there mesmerized right to the end. A beautiful piece of artwork. Thanks for sharing, DW
Hi
Hey
Now that is truly art! To turn something that simple into something unique and beautiful looks like a vase you could use for artificial flowers I want one
You are simply great, I watch your videos daily before going to bed.. It makes me feel so relaxed..
I saw this video in early 2020 just as the pandemic was starting. I bought a lathe a few weeks later. I now have a shop with 3 lathes. This video still amazes me, and I come back and watch it often.
Thanks ... glad you got inspired 👍
That's amazing, only an artis could of looked at that stump and see it's potential. So beautiful
Absolutely amazing how the two components go together so well creating such a striking piece.
I would look at this all day if it were mine. Simply stunning.
Buy it
I can’t find the correct words to say how much your work is admired, respected and such a privilege to see.
you are a master craftsman beyond anything machine manufactured produced.
I love the silver mica with this wood. Beautiful vase, just beautiful.
Love the colors you use, and Love when you polish it and it come out all glossy and beautiful
One of my favorite turned pieces I’ve ever seen! Love this one!
This is probably one of my most favorite pieces of yours.
Thankyou 👍
One appreciates it a little more when you see it actually being made
Absolutely
Holy shit man, I'd never be brave enough to put that thing on my lathe without some extreme belt sanding first. Exotic grain turned out nicely though.
Hands down the best wood turner on youtube.
The only criticism for this amazing artisanship is that he could not have made the vase from a bigger stamp and imaging it being at the corner entrance of the main foyer. The first stunning art that guests notice at first glance.
I really appreciate you referring to him as an “artisan”
Why do I keep watching this and why is it so entertaining
You watch it coz it is so very cool and therapeutic
@@andrewoldham4462 OMG!!!! get out of my head
I love how you prepare the resin so it cures with all those beautiful clouds!!! Just amazing!!!
That is absolutely STUNNING! Wow!
Absolutely amazing brother. Live that dream and continue your journey. You still have a masterpiece left in you . Go get it!!
Sometimes when things are falling apart they are actually falling into place. Looks great Andy!

Wow, this beauty belongs in a museum. Great job!!
Hello Andy. I handwork metal and my last project was an antique axehead and handle. I spent 5 days, not hours, hand polishing a rusted out 120 year old axehead with steel wool and mineral oils. When the sun shines on it people swear its translucent. I know it is but I don't need to swear. The peace these silent moments bring me are what gives a life substance. When I watch you create, I'm proud to be part of your species.
Wow! Such beauty from a small old, bit of tree. So talented
Oh my God that's beautiful! Please make more wood/epoxy hybrids. Use many colors because that was amazing. 😁
😱 WOW! That turned out gorgeous!! Silver is beautiful with that wood!
Duuuuuude…. That is FAN-TASTIC! Absolutely love the coloring in that piece!
Somehow I worked my KZhead feed into nothing but dudes crafting silently.
Can you give me some tips? That's my goal too.
@@patriklindh9875 click on one rogue link, let the youtube algorithms do their magic
@@patriklindh9875 You have to go down primitive survival video rabbit hole. Then wonder how to restore an old wrench that you found in your backyard. Go three blocks into "Boomers show you how to replace Thermacool XR10 power supply cable" videos. Take a left at guy restoring a pair of old Jordans. There should be a video of man removing varnish off old Marlin rifle stock. If you start seeing super excited blonde millenials you've gone too far. You're looking for "XXX vs hydraulic press" and "Making Nitric Acid"
@@socialismo52 lol I've been on the primitive survival road for a while. The users have only interpreted the algorithms, in various ways. The point, however, is to change it.
Lol...I'm watching spiders somehow.
This is just an absolute beauty
I just love how the transformation takes place from beginning to end!❤
My favorite piece you’ve done so far and that’s saying a lot! You’re a true visionary
Easily in my top 15 silver stump turning videos of all time.
Top 6 for me!
Обалденная структура дерева получилась👍
Oh, how I would love this in my home, I'd be able to admire this piece while knowing how beautifully it was formed.
Seriously you turn some of the nicest vases I've ever seen great job
The mind is a funny thing. Watching this, I could almost swear I could smell the wood and the workshop.
...plus....I smell the genius of the gentleman that work on the wood. So amazing
Man I had no idea where you were heading with this - but the result is stunning! Great art!
Wow, that is absolutely stunning. So beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
This one is particularly beautiful! Thanks for posting.
I love the black and silver pearl, looks amazing.
Wow that is beautiful. I love the the swirls in the wood. Nice job.
Just found this channel yesterday. Been rolling through these videos with a smile. Keep up the great work. Looking forward to more.
Like watching a campfire, you could look at it for hours, mesmerising!
I'm impressed, amazing job!
Dude, great freakin job. I showed this to 4 people saying this type of craftsmanship is dying. This could sell for a pretty penny.
What a beautiful creation... nice job. Looking forward to more of your work...
Just gorgeous!! Love the silver!!!
Absolutely stunning! You're an amazing artist. Just beautiful!
Found that majorly relaxing to watch
I have watched many of these kinds of videos recently and I have to say this is one of my favorite pieces. Absolutely stunning!!!
This is amazing. I don't understand those insane people's dislikes.
Some people like disposable things. And can’t be bothered to take the time to appreciate craftsmanship
Why the hell does everyone comment about dislikes. Of course there will be dislikes statistically speaking even on best videos.
@@johanan9987 IT'S NOT ABOUT THE STATISTIC. IT IS THE REASON. WHY. OF COURSE STATISTICALLY THERE ARE IDIOTS AMONG SMARTS PEOPLE, BUT WHY THOSE IDIOTS DISLIKE GOOD CONTENTS?
That was an awesome use of something most people just burn.
I dont know why KZhead recommended this to me... but that sure was relaxing!
So memorizing!! Love how that resin looks so 'creamy" and wavy ❤❤❤👍
One of my favorites so far! Beautiful indeed!!
