Man I never realized how fire Jester's theme was, it's kinda hard to listen to while just hearing him shout "Welcome to hell!" and "Jester's gonna spank ya butt, spank you on the butt!" and trying to beat him so he shuts up
He actually says "Joker's gonna spank ya butt" during the battles with him. This is because his original name during development was Joker, but was changed most likely to avoid copyright infringement. It's kinda funny how Arkham has multiple Batman references to him.

All battle themes: INSANE HELL ROCK AND ROLL AND SOULS BEING SUCKED TO LIMBO WITH LIGHTNINGS AND DEATH. Vergil 3: a classical music showing that's is the final boss, final mission and the final moments of two twin brothers. I love it

Vergil Battle 1 will always remain his sickest track. It’s so perfectly fitting for him as a boss, it sounds like you’re up against someone you just can’t beat.

It sounds like you’re battling in a rave party more than a battle to the death. I prefer Vergil Battle 2. Really feels the most like a rival battle to me out of all the Vergil themes. 3 is really good as a “I need to beat my brother to save my brother”, but 2 is more of an “I really want to beat my shitbag brother’s stinky face”

Doppelganger theme doesn't hit that hard because you can't hear "Come on, wimp" and "Come and get me!" every 3 seconds

The Gigapede theme is heretical levels of underrated. It goes so hard, almost too hard. Like fr.
I almost never get to hear most of it, this boss doesn't last particularly long if you know what you're doing.

listening to the boss themes made me realize that *all* of the battle tracks (regular battles and boss battles) are made to loop until one side gives out so that's why there isn't really an actual end to the songs, they just loop the melody without the intro

that's normally what happens when there aren't official arrangements. KOF Soundtracks always had arrangements you can't really classify as videogame music because they actually catter to the actual definition of standalone music.

It's crazy how good this soundtrack really is. my favorites are probably Cerberus, jester, Vergil 1.2. & 3, nevan and even arkham 1. this game brings so many good memories and i listen to this in the gym sometimes too, devil may cry always going to have a special place in my heart

I love this ost so much, the nostalgia just hits and paints an image of us losing hard to one of the bosses at one point. Fighting them on repeat until you remember their attack patterns, and the fact that nivek just hearts almost every comment, as recently as 5 days.

To me I feel like the best boss theme out of these all is Arkham Battle Phase 2. This boss, the music, everything about this fight makes me feel as if this was the true final boss. Phase 1 feels more like “oh I got this but I am struggling” vibe whereas phase 2 is more of a “cmon Dante, let’s put an end to this monstrosity” vibe. Just the feeling of defeating what was thought out to be a malevolent, disfigured monster created for no purpose at all vs two brothers who fight for their own fate. Honestly, 10/10 track.
For the first boss in the game Cerberus has such a badass theme
I learned to apperciate Cerberus battle the most when DMC 5 came out.
I get what they were going for, but hardcore in a game with mostly kickass music was a slight mistake

Man, the leviatan theme is so underated, the base sounds sound like you were inside a lab and the chants after makes it sound bossy

Vergil has antagonist character from devil may cry 3, is be harder to defeat, and vergil has first appears in devil may cry 3 to devil may cry 5
It always bothered me how there is no option in the game to change the volume of the sound effects and the music. I always like to turn up the volume for the music noticibly louder than the sound effects, and for this game there isnt an option for that. Such a shame, since the music is so goated!
Now I'm motivated.
