  • This game nowadays is a reference to how "not to make" a Devil May Cry game, but, for something that I have consideration for it is that if this game did not exist the style system that we love so much in the third game would not exist. If you revisit the game you will realize that many of the movements used were later modified to give rise to attacks such as Rain Storm or the Trickster.

    • Its not hating,this game if we speak about character design is good af and ost is also good but what makes this game a total bust is the monotonous,boring and repetitive gameplay. If you compare with other games on the franchise the other games are meant to be more challenging forcing you to make new combos and plan a strategy for each boss. Dmc2 gameplay wise is as simple as this: A bossVS Devil Triggered ebony and ivory: Devil triggered ebony and ivory wins. Cuz in general the melee weapons here are practically useless. The game had potencial but it was all lay to waste.

  • Honestly, the boss designs in this game were well done, most actually being excellent, but made too easy. Guns are too strong, and the bosses leave such massive gaps in between actions. Almost no resistance at some points, like the first Arius encounter. Also, a lot of Dante's lines would sound way better if his voice actor didn't sound so disinterested.

  • If the novels are interpreted correctly, the reason why Dante’s personality was like this isn’t because of any deep or sad reason, but rather, this entire incident was so damn easy for him that he was bored out of his mind during nearly the entirety of the game’s events.

    @BigVEE@BigVEE5 жыл бұрын
  • I remember I couldn't melee anyone as attack commitment is insanely high. You can't perform dodge or jump unless Dante finished slashing comepletely. This includes even recovery frames after swinging which is ridiculuous. This is not how you make fast-paced action games. This was done how it should have been in 1-3 and 4, so it's strange that this game alone has this problem.

The Despair Embodied made me rage quit a few times. The first time I beat it was due to Sparda DT activating at my last bit of health. Trismagia was quite frustrating at times as well.

  • Honestly, I loved this game. Sure it had problems, but for me personally, to see guns be so damn overpowered was just amusing. I love playing around with the gun before smashing them with the blade. The problems was the bosses. They were unnecessary in a game where Guns are your strongest weapons. Also, I don't mind this Dante demeanor, I just wish they explained WHY he was like this. (And sadly, by Capcom being lazy, we will never get a reason because 2 is after 4 but before 5 and that doesn't make a lick of sense) But this Dante seems... Right in a way. Especially after playing 3 and 4. Dante finally matured and holds a greater power than he did before, he's much more calm and serious about his work and I personally enjoy that after seeing his character in 3 and 4.

DMC that is shit : DMC4 and DMC5(its all crapcom fault) Dante build up through the years and became serious. and he is already matured and a pro at his work at this time. and then 4 and 5 happend, something that contradict to the lore.

      @Hakaishi00@Hakaishi005 жыл бұрын
    • @@Hakaishi00 He's just as capable and professional in 5 as he was in 4 and 2. The official timeline as it now stands is 3-1-Anime-2-4-5, and it works perfectly. He goes from an impetuous and rebellious youth and matures into a man who's reconciled his humanity with his inhumanity, and he learns to do so through his interactions with Lady and Vergil. Also, his foray up, down and around Teme-ni-gru helps him get a headstart on his life's mission of demon extermination. With that, he starts his business in earnest. In DMC 1, he comes to grips with his past, and settles it once and for all. Every major character in 1 represents a facet of his life. Trish represents his mother, and through working with and saving her (she saves him, too) he "atones" for the mother he believes he failed. He finally lays Vergil to rest (heh), and through Mundus he succeeds his father's legacy (even turning into him, which is weird in itself). Less cocky and exuberant than in 3, but he's still got light-hearted snark, and he has his sensitive moments. The anime essentially follows up his character in 1. He's also often more mocking to demons. In 2, Dante seems to be fatigued with the endless droves of demons he's killed, and he's even had some of his efforts blow up in his face (like Sid in the anime). He's noticeably more stoic and coldly professional (the team removed taunts for this purpose), and although he still has his humorous moments, they're few and far between. He's also still got his emotional growth, which he extends to Lucia. In the end, he goes to hell to directly take on the forces of the Underworld. Once 4 rolls around, Dante's returned from the Underworld, and he's in lighter spirits, most likely as a result of seeing his work have a tangible effect. He returns to Earth to investigate the Hell Gates (although not exactly by his choice.), and in doing so he gets tipped off to the Order of the Sword. Then, he gets wind of something else, something very important: he has a nephew. Dante still goes about his work professionally, even not sparing a second thought to clashing with Nero (despite holding back), but he's also much more flamboyant and humorous thanks to the fact that he actually has remnants of true family remaining. This leads him to help out Nero in his own demon hunting business, which sets the stage for 5. Dante's characterization fits when viewed in the canon timeline, although I would be remiss in mentioning that it does look weird and inconsistent considering the actual release order of the games, and the two different lead directors the series has had. Regardless, each game helps keep Dante's character intact.

    • @@manuelmateo3392 this all is easyly crashed by the fact DMC is the real prologue, and the dialogue that Dante said "you are the 1st one to know about it". and all other isnt cannon because it isnt Kamiya work.

It's probably cause he's still sad over having to kill his brother hence why in 4 which happens after this, he hears about the Sparda cult having the Yamato and Nero being connected to Virgil and he's back to his happy self again.
