Fun fact: The last 3 minutes of this song were born out of pure love for the series. Casey Edwards himself said that Vergil is a very important character to him and that he didn't know if he'd get the chance to compose for DMC again. The first 6 minutes were all that was needed, the song was complete. He could have sent it off to Capcom and they'd be satisfied. But he wanted to give a final statement to Vergil and a goodbye to the series. So if you've ever wondered why that part feels so fucking raw, it's because it is. The emotions there are 100% sincere.

If we skip the fact it’s a genuine love letter to this amazing character, it’s painting a clear picture of Vergil’s very core, the man has trauma and walks a thin almost invisible line of humanity and demon hood, the tragedy of knowing it’s Vergil who is more in touch with his humanity, the way the song can hype you while explaining the pain this man feels, all while never going to too edgy or dark lyrics to express it. A marvel as when you reach the 3/4 of the song you realize that it’s not over and for a moment you are grateful cause it seems like something more important is still dwelling under the surface. Then we hear line “Bury the light deep within”, and it is at this moment we know exactly due to the music how Vergil is. The song IS VERGIL the creator truly felt the motivation and used it well! A masterpiece of music.

My best friend in D&D played this for his Character's theme, mixed with Jetstream Sam's. He poked me into listening it during the last session, and oh my god this is good! My character theme was a lot more string, but yeah... This fit. We also had planned to play this when he was on my back when I'm Polymorphed as a Dragon. He is a Satyr, and was going to tear his cloak off and reveal a large absorption Tattoo, and say something I don't recall off my head, but as an absolute Chad for inspiration.
