LOVE YOUR VIDS BTW
when are you makin some for us bouldersers ? would be nice with a bit bag with one or two pokets on :D
good luck with the iron cross challenge
I like how "cheating" in climbing is - you just use the same holds wrong way!😅
Hahah
Hahah
@UCiTQvOZ3lelVGZOibHX7tfw 😅 I’m always here! Whatchiiinggggg😑😑😑
Yay two of my biggest idols in the same place. Greetings from Poland🇵🇱👋
Anton when are you meeting Magnus again?? You two have great chemistry for videos!!
Seeing Pete actually complete his problem was amazing - what a vision and what a struggle!!!
i havnt been this excited watching a climbing vid in a long time!
Sick!
Magnus: Sets something very difficult but doable for a lot of high level climbers Pete: Sets Silence
I thought that knee twist looked familiar
😂 true! He was like “I bet no one will notice 👀”
Sets silence...?? Please..
@@jeroencallens4717 he meant the Crux, Pete has a video of him jamming the crux of Silence and doing it in one session, the sequence he used looks pretty similar to this boulder he set
I thought I was the only one who saw this lol
Thanks for having me on the channel again Magnus! I need to work on my dynos and campussing for next time 😅
You definitely tried very hard. That was promising and fun to watch!
Pete, seriously, your footwork is probably one of the best in rockclimbing if not the best. Technique!
man your problem is so sick and hard i can just imagine my self getting the pain of trying those foot jams
Great collab’ on the video, I laughed so hard when you said “Yeah those black ones are good, at least they’re not total ming!” Thanks for the video, prefer this format showing the setting and even the cheats/work arounds - good to mix up the format for sure! ❤️🤍💙
I want to see you and magnus do a colab w/Adam where you all complete silence... you set the sequence here and Adam could coach you.
Pete seems like a super fun dude. I love how off the top he is like "Must. Stop. Magnus. Must. Find. Jam". Now back to watching the rest of the video.
Pete is like instantly likeable guy. Super polite and at the same time very natural.
Yup, seems like a great guy! :) fun video, woild love to see more with him
Despite seeing you guys trying only two boulders, this format is among my favourite! Keep up the great work Magnus!
Second this, I love this format. Perfect way to collaborate too and show off different climbing styles. It also makes me wish I lived near that gym just so I could see for myself how impossible these boulders are for me.
This is a great format. Different styles like this really showcases differences and alternate solutions. Hope to see more!
Me too! Keep it up Magnus! 👍
Yeah I also really like this format, in which you (friendly) compete in routesetting and bouldering against another person. Very creative!
I totally agree, this is awesome. I don't think about routsetting much so this is very interesting
Magnus: "I'm going to make a boulder that plays to my strength." *Proceeds to defy gravity for an entire route.*
Thats what he is best at
I just love how Pete climbs. Slow, precise, methodical. The double toe hook at 24:21 into placing his own foot with his hand at 25:04 is just *chef kiss*
true, its a rly nice way of climbing, the placing his foot with his hand thing was probably because he wasn't flexible enough and is impressive imo :D
I actually gasped when he did that. It took me by surprise and was so effective too!
@@isolu9386 thats common practice to place your foot a little higher with your hand, some things you can just not get to without a little force cause it needs a little bending
He approaches bouldering like a game of chess, which is awesome. That strategy also works well in things like BJJ. I love that bouldering is as cerebral and strategic as chess while at the same time being physically intense.
Climbing styles Magnus: Flying squirrel Pete: Sloth 🦥
😂😂
So true lol
hahaha
I'm a Simple Man. I see Pete, i press like.
I’m a Simple Man. I see compliment about Pete, I press like.
Always a good reason Pete and Magnus trying this impossible stuff.
@@slowfoods6018 I am a simple man too. I see someone press like when he sees someone complimenting Pete, I press like .
@@slowfoods6018 i´m a Simple Man. I see, I press like.
i literally did that :D
Honestly, Pete is one of the few people that Magnus collabs with that tries just as hard as Magnus. (100%)
It’s the fumes from the cellar
Yep, that's the fun with the wide boyz - ridiculousness, giggling, and still trying really hard.
it's honestly so good to see magnus actually legitimately struggle on a boulder. not in like a sadistic way, but in a fun challenging way
Pete has so many tricks, it's impressive the way he's able to innovatively climb through moves he otherwise wouldn't be strong enough to power through.
His core strength and toe hooking abilities seem pretty insane :D The jamming part he couldn't really use here
The guy is insane though. His forearms must be titanium. He takes his time going for good feet and better body positioning to transfer into the next position more comfortably, but he does that while hanging off of tiny crimps or insane jams.
Yeah his core strength and ability to solve problems using his feet is pretty amazing........
@Robbie A i've seen videos. Radical!
Pete recently won a hanging challenge with Storror.
This Pete dude seems like a really nice fella. Very comfortable to be around with.
Magnus: "What is your weakness?" Pete: "Well I can't tell you now..." Magnus: "So we're gonna set a steep profile." Pete: "Which is my weakness." 😂
When Pete put the Fingers away at the crimp (27:55), it really gave me goose pumps :o
It is really interesting that he didnt choose the index finger xD I know most good climbers use the middle finger instead of the index finger for pockets but that he didnt use them booth here... I like that in climbing everyone does what he wants xD
Its so cool seeing how technical Pete is and how dynamic Magnus is. My favorite part of this video was seeing you guys show how wildly different your styles are.
i have a solid guess that it's because pete is taller, so he has that luxury. magnus probably wouldn't reach many holds with a methodical approach
@@grischad20 and just the fact that he changed the holes to perfectly fit his fist jam. Just having a 0.5cm difference in the placement makes it 10x harder for some
It’s encouraging to see that there’s no one superior style. It’s free flowing and allows people to play to their strengths.
Gotta empathise with competition climbers that have to do such vastly different styles of climbs
Jam: Exists Magnus: 8A+
"Pete destroyer of ladders"
😂
😂😂
Really like these videos where you show the process of making problems.
You guys are great collabing together - great chemistry. I can't believe how well Pete did his boulder for Magnus - just shows how different of climbers they are. Both boulders were amazing and should stay up. Thanks for the content gents!
Magnus-"I put one above so you're not able to use it as a foothold after" Pete-Proceeds to use it as a foothold after
Yeah that was a poorly executed blocker
And it is still really hard for him...i mean like pete setup can be cheated by magnus...but magnus setup is damn..just a nightmare for pete
I've never climbed before, and I don't know anything about climbing....but I can't stop watching these videos. So impressive. Great personalities and attitude
I recommend that you try it then! It isn't expensive, you can go to the nearest boulder gym and start climbing, it's definitely worth a try.
Same here. Or at least comparable. I don’t know Jack shit about rock climbing or bouldering but I do climb every tree and building I’m allowed to. (And sometimes I do it even though I’m not.) Edit: I mean, I see many similarities between bouldering and some of the shit I get up to in my free time, but also some things are just so fundamentally different.
@@friedpumpkin0191 i hv hyperhydosis 😔
Me too
Magnus I just want to say that you are my biggest inspiration. I started climbing 4 Months ago because of your video’s. Im 13 years old and i am currently on 6A. Without you I would never have gotten into climbing. Thank you.
Good job mate!
6a in 4 months, that's a very fast progression Congrats dude
Climbing is fun and it gets only better the more you can do. Climbing gets really really interresting at around 6b or 6c, when the slopers, edges, and jugs get on a complete different level xD Before it is "similar holds in different routes" and then it gets way more creative in my opinion :D Most difficult sloper holds start there too xD
@@JL-pc2eh yeaaahhh, I can't stop thinking about climbing but the gyms are closed here because of covid :(
That's really impressive!! I climbed alot as a kid and I think the hardest I've done is like 5.11 Climbings a blast but I'm much better at other things lol
Awesome concept Magnus, thanks for the video! Pete's beta on the orange was something out of my nightmares, but weirdly enough I really wanted to try it..
horribly fascinating is how I would describe these moves :)
Emil, you should collab with Magnus or Pete or Tom or all of them!
Pete genuinely seems like such a great guy
Watching how creative Pete is with his climbing is just amazing, really have full perception of his body and what he can do... I lost it when he pulled his foot with his hand to reach the high hold
9:35 literally uses air as a foothold???
yea wtf
he prolly uses his knee on the wall to press off for a better angle but that's just my take
hahahaha, compressive forces yesyes
No climbers will stick their foot/limb out in order to maintain balance, and stop them from swinging. It is a move known as flagging.
@@N4mch3n more the right foot than the knee - if you watch carefully he pushed at the edge with it and only after the foot sliped pushed the knee a bit at the wall
It's so horrible to see you climbing alone in such a nice climbing hall while I'm sitting at home waiting that the halls open again
Same. *sadness intensifies*
with every day the urge to buy a big hall and start building my own gets stronger.....
same in austria :(

"What's the hardest part of this boulder?" "Yes."
“What’s the crux sequence on your respective boulders?” “Yes”
"just campus'd to a blob" had me weak
Around 16:24 when the music goes quiet for the topout. Super slick video editing, amazingggg
On some level, it's almost like it's "feet vs. hands". Awesome video!
Hey Magnus, don't be afraid to do vlog style videos. We still like to see other things you do. Maybe it's hard for you to do so keep up the awesome content magnus we love you!!!
Alternate title: "How many ways can we break each other's beta?"
One of my favorite videos you’ve made in a long time! You two have such different climbing styles that combining them into a video like this makes for an amazing look into the way your minds work. 30 minutes for 2 boulders and I would have watched an hour of it!
I really like these episodes where friends set a hard boulders (that capitalizes on their own strengths) for each other. The format not only allows for a fun exploration of the very difficult and goal specific task that is setting a route and tweaking it but also allows us to see how very different styles deal with traversing these vertical environments. In some sense the hand jam was the easier beta and not matching the tiny crimp was easier but in another sense this harder beta was easier for each when climbing boulders conceived of outside their own style. Please do more of these!!
When Pete managed to climb his boulder I clapped. That was absolutely beautiful.
Same with Magnus finally getting Pete’s that was impressive especially with how small Magnus is to Pete
it's so great seeing magnus climb with other pros, it really shows how insanely strong he is. plus watching pete work around problems with unbelievable tekkers is great
Hey for your million sub one you should try this with all of your climbing friends just have you all set climbs and try everything essentially turn your gym impossible for a couple of weeks
He doesn’t own the gyms he’s an investor and commercial gyms operate of attracting new people so a gym that has really difficult routes will turn many people off
@@chrishansen8026 If he limits himself to youtuber climbing friends and makes teams, that should doable though.
@@chrishansen8026 I really don't think this would cause issues he has millions of people watching his channel who would want to try a gym full of crazy problems from famous people. Even though you might have the ability to go to the best climbing spots in the world you might not have time to fly all over the world so one trip to a gym is much easier.
@@nocturnhabeo i mean like...u can still put a wall or 2 for like beginners or normal climber right
I love seeing the contrasting climbing styles of Magnus and Pete. It proves, almost, that there's no "one way" to do something. Also... maximum laughs on the banter.
Always a giggly yet relaxed atmosphere when you two session together. So much fun, and great climbing of course!
20:23 hold moved :o
If you struggle to see it, pay close attention to the top right corner of the left hold of the foot jam.
@@outandabout259 thanks I couldn’t see it!
Nice catch
Oh that what make his leg loss the grip completely
Magnus smirking the whole time while explaining the beta of his Boulder problem to Pete😂😂
I honestly learned a lot from the part where Magnus failed sooo many times but still kept going. I think you are the personification of Determination and Will Power. Please keep it up, Love From India
Watching Pete send his boulder really blows my mind... He's so good...
Some people may disagree, but I like the focus of fewer problems. Your editing makes it feel rewarding instead of repetitive and dull. It also gives you the chance to work on hard problems for yourself and it feels like you have more fun while climbing on those boulders. The videos you produce are great regardless but you've shared your fear for these types of videos before. Hope you have a good one :)
Yes, my day just got better.
I never realized how flexible Magnus is. Seeing him do the top of Pete's boulder was so impressive after seeing Pete struggle!
That was one of My favorite videos of yours and I’ve been watching for years. Awesome show.
Supportive comment being supportive
I love the vibes that you have together Magnus and Pete, I feel it in the video, how you love climbing and your faces and eyes talk alone. More videos like this please, 30 min of video went so fast!
Pete's height works against him when he needs to bring his legs up. Plus Magnus obviously has more core strength. It's really interesting to see just how differently each of them tackles every problem. This is great content!
really interestong video comcept, i hope magnus will do more like that ! i feel like magnus really liked the boulder cause it was really hard (we all know how some time he is in the nead of a challenge)
You guys are such a good duo. I love it when you guys are together. Always makes me smile. :)
Pete is a beast and it was super impressive to watch both of these guys tackle the others boulder in their own way.
I like watching people figuring out routes /boulders. So the fewer boulder style works for me.
This has to be one of the favorite I've seen in a long time! It's amazing to see your different strengths and how easy Magnus made his boulder look, and how Pete made his boulder even possible at all! I was certain there was no way. And then Magnus figured out a way too, in such a different style. Pete's ability to hold a position and Magnus's power are both just ridiculous.
30min boulder video in the new gym!? Time to get snacks!
By far the best video in a long time. So cool to see u both struggle on the same problems;) Greetings from germany :)
love the amount of "yeahs" in this video
This was definitely one of my favorite videos. To see both of you create your sets that are specific to you, watch you guys solve it, and then watching the other solve it in such a different way was so cool. Your choice to bypass that starter piece was awesome and then his ability to do that toe hook was nuts! Love your vids man.
always love seeing pete in a vid :D know something great is coming
Take a shot everytime they say "Yeah"

Fuk u 🤙🏻
Or do hangups 💪
More of these Magnus. This is probably one of my favorite videos I've seen you do, If not my favorite all together. I love to see you guys push yourselves and actually have to think through a boulder instead of flashing it. Amazing job as always and props to 1.5M subs... You deserve every one of them. Much
That was just awesome. Lovely to see your different styles. Amazing job on those boulderproblems and the video quality is flawless as usual.
You two are so fun to watch!! Love the video. Being able to see a difficult boulder be done different ways is so sweet! Thanks for all the videos over the years
I love the videos where you guys focus on a problem that isnt a flash and work it out over many goes. It reminds me of skateboarding videos, where they try the same trick over and over until they land it. It makes it very satisfying to watch the top out when you see the battle play out. As always, love the videos. If it wasn't for you I would have never entered my local climbing gym and gotten a membership.
I would love love to see more of these! It was so revealing just seeing more of the route setting and I really enjoyed the friendly competition. Keep it going Magnus!
This is probably the most fun video I have seen from yours Magnus! I love this format, and I can tell a lot of work went through making this video, setting up the boulders, but just was so fun watching! Made my day
This is one of my favorite videos yet, Magnus! Such a great idea to set for each other’s weaknesses 👏
I love seeing the differences in styles that you guys have. Especially for two people who are incredibly successful climbers. It really shows that there is no right way to climb!! Loved this video!!
Would love more videos like this!! You both look so stoked the whole time, and it's really cool seeing the different climbing styles!!
I love videos when you or your mates set boulders. Really good insight into that side of climbing and it looks like you have a lot of fun being creative. Great vid!
Really cool to see different styles on the same problem
i honestly think this is my new favorite video of yours, seeing people trying their hardest and succeeding eventually is so incredibly satisfying
This was one of my favorite videos from you Magnus! It was really cool to see the process of setting such different style boulders, and then seeing you and Pete climb on them was awesome. Pete climbing his own boulder was really impressive, your huge cross on the orange one was insane, the black is a really cool power boulder when you did it and Pete's match on that tiny crimp with the bad heel hook was very exciting.
Loved the video magnus! A fun format. I quite like seeing the progress throughout the session for both of you on each problem.
This was one of my favorites! So cool to see such totally different styles on 2 totally different boulders!
Pete has such a great chill vibe. I love the videos where you challenge yourself against another climber Magnus. They are awesome to see!
This was a really fun video! To see the creators plan and vision of the boulder, following their style. And then to see the other fight through it, using their own style and trying to adapt. This is why I love climbing!
This was a joy to watch. Love how you two are able to push each other.
21:58 when dat beat drops you know the boulders gonna go
I love your setting videos! I recently got hired as a route setter, so I'm trying to learn as much as I can! Super cool to see how you both brought your ideas to life :-D
I absolutely loved this video! It was super cool seeing your guys' style not only in your own boulder, but in the movements/technique in each others' as well. It's certainly a testament of why you should climb anti-style; definitely pushes you to try hard and get creative! I also loved seeing Pete do all the micro adjustments on his own problem, especially with the foot jam at the two slopers. It makes you appreciate how nuanced/technical it really is. Great collab and thanks as always for the vids! (Also, RIP that poor ladder - ha!)
The athleticism in these videos blows me away. Awesome to watch.
I've only climbed a few times in my life, but I love this cannel. You guys are inspirational. Makes me want to get into a gym
The mantle on Pete’s problem. Good lord
Make more of theese Magnus. Really fun to watch the whole process of making a boulder, trying it and then have someone else try it too. Great video.
That was one of your best climbing videos in a while, super fun to see you both figure out how to do it using your own stronger skills
Great format, really enjoyed it! And Pete is a great guest. Looking forward to the coming vids!
I really liked this video, even though I cannot relate on the difficulty of those boulders it's a great lesson on what route setting is about.
I think this is one of my favourite video of yours Magnus! Awesome seeing you guys problem solving, powering through, and in Pete's case, static-ing like a god.
This is such a good video. It brings me back to when I first started climbing. There used to be a wall full of holds and my friends and I would try to create walls with them. Always trying to make it impossible for the other ones. Great job Magnus!
Hey Magnus its okay even though its just 2 boulder in 1 video but to me; i really liked the concept of this one! we got to see route-setting, the differences of style between 2 badass climber (and that emphasize on your strength vs. weakness!), and also the chemistry of you two. Its refreshing. Thanks Magnus!
Great climbin and really good positive vibes in the whole video! Really interesting concept as well and you made it work like a charm!
This is one of my favourite videos of yours so far! Love seeing the different approaches and tecniques!
I love seeing how hard Pete tries. It’s super motivating
thank you for the amazing videos and 30+ hrs of editing you do. truly means a lot to us viewers how hard you work on each amazing video. one of the best channels on YT and always fully of awesome people.
