I visited @CoffeeChess and played against the Great Carlini! He kept trashtalking me so I had to trashtalk back on the chess board :) as always these games are just for fun and shouldn't be taken too seriously - had a great time at coffee chess and can't wait to be back!! :D

I did open the longer versions and skip to the end to see anna reaction, but I much preferred the highlight videos. that was damn close to 1st place, i really enjoyed the whole thing. hope to see more tornies soon.

And let's not forget, it's 2024. There are some really decent chess games for the smartphone or PC with levels for all players. That is if you don't have and want a real chessboard of course 😃

  • 2:11 In that situation, I can't help taking white pawn h3 with my bishop, (and lose the bishop). I think it expands opportunities for check mate later in the game with the more open opponent king. I might have done it a move before, before I castled, so I can still castle on either side if needed. I would not want him to do the same thing to me. I may be wrong, but I see it as a gain if you can make the king weak early, and worth the loss of a bishop, if early and you still have power pieces. To me, it is almost a new game after the 1st castle (if by the opponent), because now the opponents king is pretty much fixed to one side of the board, where I can concentrate power to. Just learning. :)
