It Took Me 15 Seconds To Realize How Good He Was At Chess

I visited @CoffeeChess and played against one of their strongest players. As always these games are just for fun and shouldn't be taken too seriously - had a great time at coffee chess and can't wait to be back!! :D

  • I noticed early in the game that “Tiger” was underutilizing his rooks and bishops, then suddenly he just went all in. I think that was the pounce. Fun game, brutal banter.

    • @@plebjames I played Collegiate basketball. I love playing chess, though I've never been great at it. Trash talk is just part of competition. You use it to throw the other person off their game, it's not personal. It's equally critical to learn to NOT be thrown off by your opponent. Ever heard the saying "Offense wins games, Defense wins Championships"? A person can't claim to be "mentally tough" if they've never trained their own mental Defense as well as their Offense. (BTW, I'm not attacking you in any way. I tend to come across as too "direct" at times. I have no issue whatsoever with you sharing your opinion).
