  • the fact that kids can play against adults is one of the best aspects of chess. my 7 year old son played and best an 83 year old in a 2.5 hr classical game recently. my lad was the 2nd 7 year old to play that man in a row. he was so nice to all the juniors

    • Yeah, when I was 14 I got to play William Lombardy (Bobby Fischer's second) at the Manhattan Chess Club. It was a great thrill, but I remember his pieces kept advancing like a steamroller, or a slow-motion avalanche. It was all over in around 30 moves.

  • Dude what? There's no way she'll be 1500 for long. I'm not some chess expert but the way she had her principles down and kind of observing her thought process, especially with the bishop take was pretty impressive. And she's ELEVEN, ffs. I hope chess is a passion of hers and she'll continue to grow, because this one right there is probably a very high rated player in the making. I can't wait to see her like 10 years from now.

  • Fantastic sportsmanship by you there Anna. The young lady played well and would most likely wipe the floor with me. I think Rapid is the best form of chess. Allows a little thinking time without being rediculous like classic and does not lead to stupid end games where each player is trying to win by time out that almost always happens in Blitz.

IMHO chess on club level can also be interesting and instructive, not only the top 10/12 GMs tournaments. It is up to you how many fames you'd show, you can try to do 2 in 1 vid, or just upload 1 game/week, IDK, you decide, but YES AGAIN, I AM interested, and I home more ppl here are!
