We live in a place where it’s hard to ride mountain bikes in the winter, so it’s nice to be able to find a winter sport to keep you on the mountan year round. Especialy when you can still have handlebars! The Sno-go was a nice transition from bikes to winter sports for me and in this video we get to follow April, at our local hill Bogus Basin, on her first day trying a Sno-go to see how well it transitions for her too.
If you are interested in buying a sno-go you can visit their website here sno-go.us

If we had hills around here, I’d be rocking one of those. April’s laugh is great! Had me smiling. Awesome video!!!
My nervous laugh haha This video made me realize I have one!
@@AprilRideMTB beyond cute young lady. :)
My friend and I just rented a couple of these for the day here at Sunday River here in Maine. Total blast. I wasn’t too sure what to expect but it looks great and rides even better than. Better than expected steering response from the front ski and speed control on the back skis. It’s easy to do and really easy to learn and improve on the way you can react with the bike to maintain control. My buddy went home and ordered one he likes it so much. Loved how you really showed how quickly she made progress on learning the ins and outs of the body movement.
I hope more resorts allow these in the future so that my wife can enjoy the snow while I snowboard. I'd even try these out, they look like a good time and a lot less strain on your body.
We hope so too! It’s a great intro to snow sports and Kyle says his he can tell it’s less strain on his body! I snowboard and also noticed less strain since I can face forward on the sno-go.
Its allowed at every epic resort.
Much less strain on the knees & back! SnoGo is AWESOME! I’ve been a skier for about 45 years & Snowboarder for about 20, but the SnoGo is an AWESOME method of shredding the mountain!
great video..looks like an awesome way to play in the winter....hope your health is improving Kyle....you guys are great..cheers from 🇨🇦
Thank you!
Very nice. Great fun doing something new.
Looks so fun!!! I have to try one of those!! Great content as usual, April looked liked she was having fun and picked it up like a boss!!
Awesome! Thanks. I’ve been looking at these for years but still haven’t had the chance to try ‘em.
Hope you get a chance soon!
This looks incredible I have to try this some day! Always great to see you two doing well!
Those things are fantastic! Fun to see ya’ll carving up the runs at Bogus.
Thank you!
That looked amazing. April did a great job, I think I would have screamed way more.
Haha I learned I have a nervous laugh
Ha! Very cool Kyle and April! That looked like great fun. So awesome to see you happy and healthy. Next time you need that Skydio 2 to follow you down the slope! 😎
Looked like you guys were having so much fun. Thanks for the great video👍
Thanks for watching!
Gotta get one of these. April, kinda looks like you need a shorter stem and a taller bar. Might help get your elbows bent and not be reaching so much for the bar.
Been snowboarding for 20+ years now and this looks so much fun! Been seeing more of these in the hill this season. Will have to rent one of these soon. Thanks for the vid!
Yeah, Sno-Go's are the best. I love snowboarding but I just had a brand new Sno-Go Shift show up at my door. Psyching so hard to get it our there. Thanks for the great vid to get me psyching. See you on the hill April! Either at Bogus or Eagle Bike Park. Hope all is well! :)
Looks like a lot of fun!
That looked like so much fun! Great video!
Wow, this is the best! Wanna try it so much!
That looks really fun. Great job!
Looks so fun! Is there a place in Boise to rent them? I live here and snowboard at Bogus every weekend with my son. Every time we see a snow bike, we stop and ooooh and ahhhh at them.
Yes a few places, check this link out for all shops that rent, sell and hills that allow them sno-go.us/pages/locations
Very helpful video! I just purchased one and am trying it for the first time next week!
Wow Thanks for the video! I conceive you are living the dream life now after the hard things.....
Thank you, we hope to get through the hard part still, but are trying to focus on the positive
Those are so awesome! Love the video, your guys are way cool. Those bikes look like so much fun!!
Thanks so much!
look so cold weather,..so much fun,.. stay safely 🤗👍
Those look so fun! I haven't skied since about 1990, now afraid of the muscles I no longer have, but these I would try!
It is easier on your body!
Definitely wish I could try one of these! Probably would have more fun than on a snowboard
Man I wish we had snow! We live in the mountains but it’s not cold enough for any sort of frost or ice. But this looks awesome! Great vid again guys.
Thanks!
That style of riding reminds me of riding my Halfbike. It's great to see our local hill on camera.
Congrats you guys. Been watching you from infancy to today. You’ve made a great career from this. I’m not jealous at all!! 🤣👍🏻
Haha Thanks so much!!
How cool! I have never skied or snowboarded but this looks fun!
It’s a great intro to snow sports!
Was hoping to see you guys send some jumps too !
Kyle - you guys would have a blast on the flow trails down here at Woodward, Park City on snogos if you want to make a trip of it! +++ foam pits for MTB season :)
That looks like so much fun!
You guys are awesome!
awesome video as always! Thank you for sharing great and fun content :)
Thanks for watching!
I hate cold weather but that looks like SO much fun!!!!
It doesn’t feel that cold when you’re out there!
Agree, don't like snowboarding, not fun at all and add the cold weather in, who wants to do that. But this, this looks fun.
Awesome, nice job April.
Thank you!
Awesome video, cool rides (going to check the Snogo out), thanks!
Glad you liked it!
Dude... Ski Biking got me back into Mtbing after back surgery. We ski bike at Sierra at Tahoe. So many cross overs from Mtbing just drifting on snow... When you fall on the snow it doesn't hurt as much
Great to hear!
Sweet! This way when you go to wreck/slalom… You can fall over and not take your skis with you on the way down. I’ve always been a tuck n roll out of the crash Person.
Thanks!
That looks fun!!!
That was awesome. Looks like so much fun! I'll never forget that first time skiing. I was a former skateboarder/surfer and I tried to carve turns by leaning on the inside. It took me a while to realize turning was skidding the downhill ski's edge. So much fun! Aloha!
Yeah a lot transfers, but some doesn’t. I love a good powder day when it feels like surfing though 😍
"I'll just pay attention to Kyle and watch what he does, it'll be fine" > the thing Kyle does is terrifying "oh no"
Hahaha
Thanks for being a Sno Go ambassador. Tried it in Utah and am waiting for my bike order to arrive. Even as a skiing dinosaur it was fun to ride something new and giggle the whole time just like April. 🌞
Awesome, it’s always fun to mix things up every now and then!
I live in Australia and we don’t have much snow anywhere, as a mtber I wish I could try this and have as much fun as you guys did today
I love watching you guys. You guys are the cutest and the coolest couple !!
Thank you!
Learning to snowboard at 45 sucked, but I'm loving it at 52. We finally got some decent snow in our area last week and I've been able to ditch the bike for the board. Nice to see you two in my other playground, enjoy!
You must have great knees still.
@@smallfaucet Lol. I get occasional knee issues, going back to when I dislocated one on a dance floor two decades ago while under the influence. That's why I took up snowboarding instead of skiing: To me a ski looks like a perfect lever for twisting your leg clean off, like winding up a rubber band propeller on a kid's balsa wood glider. Two feet, same board, way safer...
Great video, I’d love to try this
At 6:11 is low side. Its when you just tip over, toward the inside of the turn ... High side is when the bike stops... And your momentum yeets you across and over the bike, toward the outside if the turn.
Looks fun
Oh my gosh not this 😂 as a snowboarder I was incredibly sceptical.. but I've given them a closer look and yes: they look very safe thanks to the big contact patch, perfect for beginners or a funny day on the slope!
Heck yeah.
Saw one yesterday and I really wanna try it
Love that you guys put PNW grips on! 😂
Of course!
April is a winner!
Yay! More Snogo content! That thing looks like a ton of fun. Where and when can I sign up for a K&A Winter Snogo Camp to give it a try with the same level of expert instruction? 😉
Haha
That's a fun idea!
These snow bikes look amazing - we don't see them in Europe (yet) but hopefully they'll catch on. Also great to see that "regular" skiers are accepting them positively on the slopes, unlike skiboarding (my discipline) where people don't take us seriously although I am having way more fun on these than I ever did skiing...
From my experience, the reason snowboarding hasn't been more accepted is mostly the poor etiquette displayed by many boarders. Mostly by those who don't learn to carve and too often bail down the hill cutting inside the turning arc of skiers.
@@glennwebb631 from my experience it’s because skiers are salty, self entitled assholes that think it’s ok to push to the front in lift queues
They rent them out in sierra nevada in Spain :)
Kyle you're a really good instructor MTB camps for kids/families would be something right up your and April's street I think. Hope your health is improving. Nice wholesome fun video, thanks to both of you. Cheers
Thank you, glad you enjoy our videos!
I have been skiing a few times and a Snogo looks like it would be a blast to try.
It’s a great intro to snow sports!
Skiers hated snowboarders in the early days. I remember getting a lot of hate from skiers for being a snowboarder. The snowboarders tended to be rebellious trouble-making teenagers and the skiers tended to be the old fogeys who resist change. The skiers also saw a lot of beginners who were just side-sliding, and scraping away the soft top layer exposing the ice below. It also didn't help that a lot of people were trying snowboarding for the first time and flying down the hill out of control. I fell on my snowboarder one time and crashed into two skiers who were just standing there. When I would sit and rest on the hill, skiers like to spray me with snow as they passed then yell something like "Nothing personal!" Ski resorts would have elections where you'd vote to see if they should continue to allow snowboarders.
I love bogus I’m up there every year we rented sno go’s last year there and it was the best time ever!
Glad to hear!
They look fun!! But I miss snowboarding been so long.
Man that looks like fun.
Sweet! One of my local ski resorts has rentals... going to be heading up there soon!!!!
Awesome!
Her little squeals were too cute. My buddy and I did a sno go experience a couple times last season. I'm hooked. Except they still aren't allowed on some of the mtns here in Co. Maybe next season.
Haha Awesome, glad to hear you’ve tried them before too!
Hi Guys! Please also try out a type II Skibike! (The dude in the video incorrectly referred to it as a monoski). The movements on the snow will be similar, and because it's a full-suspension bike, much of what you already teach us to do will be easily transferable!
Got to try out a mono-ski bike now! The Loam Ranger has a few videos using Tngnt ski bikes.
Awww that looks likes much FUN! I live in Meridian :)
Yay for for skibiking! Never tried a stand-up 3 planker, but I just built my 2nd custom ski bike for my wife. Video is in the works. Oh and my wife's bike is built around my old DJer....a 2009 Jamis Porker 😂🥳 My wife is now a ski biker too!! I'm 10yrs in on a custom built 2006 Kona SKInky and although I didn't go much at first, the last few seasons I've been leveling up every time I go! And I go to a small resort in Wyoming coz it's quiet and I can razz the place three times over without endangering children 🤗🍻😂😂
I tore my ACL MCL on my right knee last year. I haven't been able to ski, I would love to have one of these
It would be a great way to come back from injury, our bodies don’t feel like they hurt a ton after.
@@AprilRideMTB how much are they $
So definitely less arm-steer seems to be key. Would love to try that.
Yup, it's simply more lean or tilt of the bars, versus steering and the bike does the rest!
Looks fun. I snowboard but still want to try it
Yeah I snowboard too and thought it looked fun when Kyle was doing it! It has been a good option for groomer days!
hey! you got to put a bell on it!
It's frightening to think if the SnoGo were to fall off the lift onto somebody below.
Add some brakes to those toys and then we are talking :)! Great to see you guys having fun and looking healthy.
SnoGo/ski bike Angel Fire Invasion! Jan.20th!!! come on out!
I get that you two are really into bikes, as am I, but why not just ski? Skiing is amazing. So glad I grew up when I did, we didn't think that we would be able to do anything right away. Everything has a learning process. I learned how to swim, sail, ski, fly, bike as a young man, and then got into windsurfing in my 50s. It's much more satisfying when there is a challenge. However, it did look like April was having fun.
It’s a great entry into snow sports, especially as an adult like Kyle who wasn’t fortunate enough to get the opportunity to when he was a kid. It is also great for people that are maybe coming back from injuries or have permanent ones that keep them from skiing/boarding, it is easier on the body. Then there are people that maybe prefer this anyways or as an option.
Returning from a major ski crash 12 months ago, this is a great way to still get out there while trying to fully recover. It's a great tool for anyone enjoy the hill, newcomers and experts alike.
I saw this When I was station in Japan. The man with disabilities using it and I thought it was very cool. That was back in early 2000, I'm sure the tech is much more define.
Yes snogos came out in the 2016 season. best geometry and linkage of any ski bike design so they are great for adaptive users also.
Cool
This looks SO FUN! Did you rent the snow go at the ski resort?
We own them, but you can check out this map to find who rents, sells and what mountains allow them sno-go.us/pages/locations
Modern version of classic skibob.
Man I really want to ride this thing. It looks like so much fun but unfortunately you don’t really have snow in Germany. If you want to go skiing or something else, then you need to go south. So the region around Austria and the Alps.
I wonder if this would help me learn to manual? I skied Bogus back in 1997. I loved that place. Are either of you skiers? Or just boarders? I ask, because the mechanics look like skiing with proper hand up and out positioning. So many skiers let their hands open up and fall back turning their shoulders. When I watch the current generation or downhill mtn bikers change direction, it looks like this same motion. Even at 50+ I could see giving this a try. :) Thanks for sharing.
Not sure how much it would help with manuals, but I feel like it helps with cornering. I (April) snowboard and Kyle doesn’t have much snow experience. I have a skied a few times and the movements are way more similar to skis.
I dont know if you'd be willing, but I'd love to go ski biking with you guys! I live in the local area.
Seems like a claw device to brake would make stopping easier. Either hand or foot activated.
Beautiful 🔄⭕🔄Kyle
She's a good athlete.
Thank you!
Don’t care much about this sport but I think people come here to watch the love anyways 🤗
Modern day version of a snow bike that has been around for many decades.
What kinda shoes y’all wearing? Like snowboard boots? Got a trip in March would love to try this thanks!
yep ! snowboard boots.
Yes we are wearing snowboard boots.
Looks like fun. Guess they don't let you take your bike on the lift?
wow, feel if you install a seat on this, we have a Harley on snow hill.
Now I have to get one, unfortunately, it won't be until next year
At least you have something to look forward to!
😁
I've always heard a full face in the snow is no bueno. If that chin piece dives into the snow with your body attached during a fall you're going to have a horrific neck injury
Wow!!! Did bogus pave the parking lot?? Or was it just melted parking lot. From the lift it looked black. Never done this ski bike. Does anyone rent them???
Yeah, this summer they paved it all the way to the frontier lodge! I know Korenorth rents them. -April
@@AprilRideMTB that’s awesome!!! Looks like the non profit business model is doing well for boise. Does more north carry niner or do u get those at that place on hill road near bogus basin road ( can’t remember that name ). Thx
So if you lose it off the lift, is that leash going to pull you off the lift too?
Do you think the front fork actually worked?
where is the safety strap/brake arm preventing this thing from hitting someone down-slope?
Those are interesting, do they work off groomed runs? Powder? Cool video!
Yes they can do both. You can change the skis to powder or thinner for groomed runs. We just leave the powder ones on unless the conditions are very bad.
