I've Wanted To Clear This Line For 2 Years! - Progression Session At The Boise Bike Park
Kyle helped me work through the last two features on the blue line at the Boise bike park (Idaho). This line has been a big goal for me since the park opened at the end of 2019. The wood lips are what scared me the most on this line, but I able able to knock them off on my own. Then I surprisingly got stuck at the last wall ride. Which is what we focus on in this video. I am so thankful for Kyle helping me through it, because it ended up being the most difficult feature for me on this line! It is fun to see how Kyle coaches me through this and the process of me overcoming the fears to finally get through the line!

I hope you guys like this progression session, I am so happy to finally make some progress at this park. I got stuck on the green line for what felt like too long and I was losing my motivation, I am so happy I got to step it up and unlock a new line for more fun here!
congratulations April! more in store in the future!
🙌🙌🙌
Nice video showing progression on getting all aspects. What schwalbe tires are on the bike?
Kyle, I appreciate your teaching methods that step by step, helped to build up April's confidence. April, you're gut-tie and tenacious. Kudos for conquering the two challenges. This lesson was fun to watch, much like piecing together a puzzle.
Nice work!!! That’s an intimidating run 😮
Wow! I'm impressed with April's advancement and Kyle's ability to ride and teach. Someday I hope to get as good as April.
Thank you! In April I remember saying the same thing when we went to the Riveter and I wanted to get the fun black line in the covered area. kzhead.info/sun/f9qKmKurgmdvZ4E/bejne.html
April has gone from "maybe she will ride well someday" to "maybe I'll be able to ride like her someday". Good job!
Zero people at the park = bonus. Great facility with time to session, incredible natural talent on 2 wheels, pro coach who is dedicated and patient, and just happens to be one of the most skilled bike handlers of the day. Love to see the success.
well said!!
Good job to you both! I caught myself cheering for April while watching this.
haha that's awesome!
We all did!
Those edits with side by side comparison of your two Attempts and Aprils attempts. Are really well thought out. And well put together.
April's progression series is the single most inspiring MTB content on youtube
Aww thank you!
I can't even bunny hop, so I'm awed by April's progress. Kyle, though, makes everything look easy - like when he went to Berm Peak and rode the features in reverse.
I totally screamed yes! When you got the wall ride and scared my dogs lol! This was an awesome video. So relatable I can feel my fears when you’re talking about being scared. So rad you got through it, congratulations!
Haha thank you!
Nice!! Watching her progress on that feature is really cool. Kyle is SO good at breaking it down and pointing out what is happening and what you want to happen. Great coaching. That coaching ability is what really hooked me on this channel. April did fantastic on that wall. I love her helmet. Great video you two!!! I feel like things are getting back to where they should be…big sigh of relief and satisfaction!!!! I hope you two have a great rest of the weekend. ❤
Thanks Todd, we are glad to get back to more videos like this!
You guys are the best. You take daunting (or seemingly daunting) elements, break them down so they're more simple, resulting in success. I find myself cheering for April when she succeeds.
Once again, hats off to both April and Kyle. Sooo realistic on how many riders get stuck in their head (me included). Side by side graphics and arrows are really helpful. Can’t stop rooting for April and Kyle’s instruction and patience are superb!
Thank you Steven!
Been waiting to see this video! It was so cool to see you guys filming this video in person, watching April’s progression has been so cool to see! Keep up these awesome videos!!!
Thanks Ryan! You show up in the background for a second. I had filmed one clip of you hitting the wall and had it in the video, but it eventually got trimmed out when we were making the video shorter. We had to cut about 5 min out!
@@AprilRideMTB no problem! The video was about April’s progression so it’s totally fine. I loved the part where the video was side by side and one was Kyle looking up on the wall and one was kyle looking down, it really painted a good picture of how much where you look changes where you go!
This is so awesome. You can tell this all real. Something we all go through when trying something new. The coaching is great, the overcoming "fear" is great. Love it. Thank you!
Congrats!
Thank you!
It’s been fun to watch April’s improvement and work through any fears she encounters. Shes becoming a very good rider! Nice to have a great coach that knows what he’s talking about…
Thank you!
Great going April! And yeah, Kyle always makes everything look easy. lol It’s his superpower. Much love to you both! :)
haha thanks!
Almost broke into some tears. The way you coach her and your patience and love you have for each other...keep it up guys you're amazing
Awww thank you!
That is too cool to actually see the progression as you get better and better each time. April you are awesome. Kyle, you were born to be a teacher. You explain things so well and you motivate in a way that's not off putting but inspirational. Both of you show so much patience. Great video
"Where you're looking is where you're gonna go" is prophetic, Kyle. Congrats April, you're such an inspiration.
Always true!
Great job, April! Can't wait for summer start coaching again. Kyle has become my favorite coach mentor!
Thank you!
Again, some great tutoring. Kyle you did it again. And April proves that a good teacher is not enough, a good student is just as important. Now I hope people appreciate you, not just for the MTB stuff, but for a good teacher and a goot student can achieve great results. Go on 👏
I can absolutely relate to April’s wallride stress. I like jumping but when I see something like this I am suddenly freaked out. But it is getting better by my practice.
Don’t underestimate your skill level April. You have plenty there. Good work on that whole line. Well done Kyle on keeping the positive / constructive feedback (you always do anyway ) and both of you having the patience to commit the time to the whole process 🤙🏼
Thank you!
Lucky number 13! I got chills when she nailed it!
Amazing! I feel happy for you. I also see how important it is to not only “look ahead” but, to “look where you want to go.”
awesome progression!

Awesome progression! Congrats April!
Awesome progress, Amber! Congrats!
Nice work and great coaching! Always great to see the huge smile of success
this is awesome to see April out conquering some of her fears and transitioning through the course!! Kyle you look great hope there are absolutely zero lingering effects from the VAX that you got a while back Just a thought and doesn’t seem like it would bother anyone with higher ramp riding skills, why not just fill in the landing area with dirt to make it smooth and not have that rear wheel bump launch potential?? I understand the entrance having a little gap prior to hitting the wall but anyone that’s up higher on the wall will already jump and land past that gap transition on the other side so instead of having it be potentially dangerous and bucking somebody(begginer-ish) as they’re leaving the wall on a lower angle it would just be safe all the way through it’s not gonna bother anybody with speed on a higher side of the ramp because they’re going to be well beyond that transition point so it’s not even necessary and would be safer for those that are hesitant as April is in the beginning hope that makes sense but the transition gap on the opposite side is totally unnecessary and would not be missed by anybody like Kyle‘s ability because they’re already passed that area as they leave the ramp from a height standpoint just my .02 looking great April, congrats 💪🏼💪🏼👏🏼👏🏼🌟
Impressive! Nice job! 🙌🙌🙌
great to see you out!!!!
