I owned N39MG (1979 M20K turbo 231) from 1995 till 2010. We put 2000 hours on it. Here are some things we learned: - always full rich in the climb, fuel is the cheapest thing you’ll put in it - flew it at 65% power, leaned to about 1550 degrees on the turbo inlet temp, never lean of peak. We got over 2000 hours on our factory REMAN. - managed the fuel burn, take off on left tank, after 1 hour switch to right tank, 1 hour on right then back to left tank, burn down to low fuel light comes on at 8 gallons, burn 20 minutes more on left then switch to right for remainder of flight. - we started the turbo cool down in the pattern. We kept the prop speed low until we retarded the throttle. If you spin up the engine while taxing you need to restart the cool down clock. The turbo Mooney is a great with lots of speed and room to stretch out. We routinely made non-stop trips from Danbury CT to Jacksonville FL in 5 hours burning 55 gallons. Enjoy it. Regards, John
what was cruise speed when burning 11 gallons/hour?

Hey Josh I just wanted to let you know that you change lives. I never REALLY knew I wanted to fly until I started watching your videos a few years back. I am 9 hours in to getting my ppl and I honestly couldn't be more excited to get those 1500 hours to fly commercial. I've never really been this happy in my life and I can't help but give you a lot of the credit. Thanks again man, you do fantastic work.:)
I also got accepted into embry riddle in Prescott az for this fall :)
Keep pressing on Inversiondude! I just passed my private check-ride and this channel is a big part of why I started flying in the first place.
Must be nice
Thanks so much for the support! Don’t stop pushing for your goals.
What a nice compliment to Josh . I wish you the best learning to fly & getting your PPL . Keep up the good work . Hope you succeed in getting 1500 hours to fly commercial .
Josh, I'm really enjoying your new take on humor and that a good thing! Keep up the humor.
Your video's are getting way better: great story telling: videography, narration, editing, and, best of all, self portrayal...plus, I'm thinking, "this guy is a pretty great instructor!"
ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS! An owner of several Mooneys, soloed in a Mooney in 9 hours..have all the ratings, but a true MOONIAC! GOOD FOR HIM, EXCELLENT DECISION! 😁🤗😍😎
Really liked your response to the icing and your alternate changes. Great job
Great to see a new MOONEY owner!!!!!!! Get him on Mooney Space!
I like these road ( air ) trips, keep them coming
Wow, from a 172 to a turbo Mooney! Man, he's living the dream!! Thanks again for a superb video.

This is my favorite of all time and I have watched since the beginning. This one has personality and that is what keeps me coming back. Thanks for sharing.

That is a beautiful plane. Thank you for sharing. Very well done video!👏👏👏👏👏👏
Just wow. The visuals, quality of editing and the look and feel of videos is brilliant. Thank you for sharing.
Outstanding!
I would love to see more series on this channel. They are very well done, and I was hooked on the Coast to Coast series.
Fantastic video. Thank you for sharing.
Again, excellent. Video and all. You are an excellent instructor. Some instructors sound arrogant and like they are superior to the student. Your voice and pace makes the student feel at ease and not rushed. Whatever you do you'll be a success. With your talent and attitude. Looking forward to your next video.
Safe flying, and looking forward to the adventures!
Nice work Josh, I enjoy your story telling style on these road trips. I have just watched some of your earlier postings again and the difference in quality, style and content is like night and day. Well done. Looking forward to the avionics upgrade episode!
I enjoy your videos especially the coast to coast series there were some cool shots in that which i wish to see for my self one day when im old enough
Great video! Well done! Looking forward the next leg!
Really enjoyable. Congratulations on the new wings. Good job on your first flight in your new plane bro. Always like your videos Josh. Fly on.
Also, yay, learned something! When I got my constant speed prop endorsement, I was only taught to cycle the prop three times (if it was cold enough to warrant making sure the oil was flowing) and watch the drop in RPM. Going to add the "check oil leak" - "check RPM" - "check slight OP drop" to my personal procedures :) (In EASA world, a complex aircraft is something different, and we have separate endorsements for things such as a constant speed prop, glass cockpit, retractable landing gear, (turbo) charged engine etc.)
Beautiful Mooney!
Great flight guys you will love the moony great cross country machine.
Fun video, fantastic plane, and great first landing! Love it.
Good ride. Sweet lookin' Mooney.
Love your videos and your multiple camera angles keep up the great work.
I'm loving these vids. I fly the mooney on a home simulator and these vids help me do it properly. It's great
Great videos Josh! You have me inspired to get my PPL. I am hopeful to start this summer / fall. Keep the awesome videos coming.
Beautiful plane! Nice job!
Wonderful video! It’s nice to see the lighter side of things, but also keeping things serious too. What a beautiful Mooney! Gorgeous!

Thanks for sharing ! SALUDOS!
Fantastic job. 27 minutes and 40 seconds just flew by. Beautiful plane as well. Travel safe!
Congrats on the new airplane! Mooney is a sweet ride. I had a 66 M20E before my Skylane. Excellent video on icing and alternative destination. Thinking ahead of airplane and conditions.👍
Great video Josh. I love your instruction demeanor and new video format. Keep up the great work as instructor and videographer/storyteller. Can't wait for part 2. You help so many, including me, to be persistent on the path to the PPL.
Really enjoyed
Keep going!! France is supporting you !!
Cool de voir des frenchies ici :)

Josh, your videos are a treat!
Absolutely beautiful mooney!!! What a great choice for a second airplane. Congratulations!! The flight from Delaware was amazing, until the rhime ice. Excellent ADM, along with being calm. Really enjoying your videos, keep them coming. Fly safe!!

Amazing video Josh enjoying that sweet stash. lol
Great instructor Josh.
Nice to see you in my hometown of Baltimore! Hope you enjoyed it and the snow for the short time you were there!
Great video again!!!
Dude... love this channel. This channel inspired me to go and start my PPL. After 10 years of stalling. Keep it up man. Hope to get it all finished by 2020.
any update?
Really cool to see you using your C.F.I. and videoing it along the way. I'm not sure what the market looks like for this kind of training, but you are the perfect fit for it! Thanks for the awesome production value as well!
Oh yeah! Even in 360p that video was amazing! Keep it up and I can't wait for part two!
Another great video and thumbs up Mr Instructor!
Love the video, great instruction! When I do the gear check, what helps really stick it into new retract pilots. I use “career check call out” again at short final after my landing checklist was done already. Makes them laugh but makes it stick
Nice to get back to basics. Refreshing in different plane too. Congrats Ronaldo on the purchase!
Your growth as a pilot has been amazing to watch. Your personality is really starting to shine through in these vids. keep up the great work.
Awesome instruction!!!
Thanks Josh ! Your work - documenting, humor, flying with attention to safety and detail is all so well done and fun and important. Get back to work ! ..... make some more.
Great job and great plane!!!!!
Watching this for the first time, and as you were filming the ramp scene in Dover, I saw my first airplane on the ramp. N10937 was the plane that I owned and learned to fly in. A great memory. Thanks
Welcome to my area of the country. Nice video, can’t wait until part 2.
Really enjoyed this.
Moving up in the world, Arnaldo!
Hell yeah! fun times all around guys!
Josh. Is a wonderful instructor.
Josh, this video was great. Keep up the natural humor, ahaha. Really enjoyed this video. Ground and sky shots are amazing.
Here in the Catskills we'd call that a heavy frost :) Those Margaritas though, wow!
Mate, these newer vids are great! I'm a big fan. As a regional pilot who tries to downsize as often as possible, I'm picking up some of your methods and applying them to my recreational flying. Thanks for passing on some great advice to the rest of us. Cheers, Pat.
Nice airplane and the GTN750 is an amazing bit of kit.
Congrats on the new plane! Looks great and I'm sure flies the same!
Josh, you two guys are doing it up--its great to watch an instructor mentor his student, great job, and one very good looking airplane, congrats. One his way home to Florida, he may have flown over or very near my home base, KOPL.
Another great video, as usual 😉
Great video guys , well done . keep it up , good luck with the mooney .
Really cool! As the English is not my first language sometimes is hard to me understand some words but always I learn and practice something with your videos. Thank you guys!
GREAT VIDEO! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
Another great video....... Great new plane!
