The Biggest Breakthrough in Minecraft Speedrunning History | One Shot SSG World Record Analysis

One Shot is a crazy new strategy in Minecraft speedrunning that allows the player to kill the ender dragon with just one arrow shot. This has led to by far the fastest runs in Minecraft speedrunning history. Since oneshot was discovered, there have been 5 new SSG world records, bringing the record from 1:47 to 1:04. In this video, I break down the history of the oneshot strategy, as well as those world records. Please like and subscribe if you enjoy!

This is not the story of a Minecraft player who possibly cheated to get a faked Minecraft speedrun world record, and not the story of their friend who also did not cheat to get a faked Minecraft speedrun world record. Fake Minecraft speedruns are insane, almost as insane as this description! If you want to see a fake cheated Minecraft 1.16 world record speedrun, this is not the video for you!

We showed how it could be used to one shot most things after 1.14. Though it was a few hits to kill the dragon. Not sure why the speed running community only started using server momentum recently. • You'd also have to optimize it for 1.16 somehow, since nobody's playing 1.12 for fastest RSG world record no matter how fast the end fight is. It'd be very cool if it turns out to be possible and also be faster than what already exists for the version. But I can't see a world where it converts a 7:45 into a sub 7. 7:30 maybe. Remember that less than half of the savings on the SSG WR vs the 1.16 route is from the end fight. Most of the time save is from being able to make use of 1.12's spawn displacement in a full run. The seed had been used before to enter end within seconds, as shown in the video, but before one-shot there was no way to kill the dragon once you were there.

  • crazy how someone finally did this. known for years that arrow damage was uncapped and dependent on velocity and that the dragon can greatly increase the players (and thus an arrow's) momentum after messing around with an elytra during a dragon fight countless times. but I never thought it was mechanically feaseable, absolutely insane the lengths people go to make it work super impressive stuff and it's not even a glitch, just clever use of game mechanics
