Taking advantage of the fact that a nether portal only checks that you have been in A nether portal for the last 4 seconds, not whether you have been in THAT nether portal for the last 4 seconds. So the first nether portal he makes is only used to start that timer, he doesn’t even go through it lol.

Minecraft has been my special interest since I was 8 (so like 10 years now, wow !) and the fact you talk about how Minecraft works so those who don't play it can understand and also not sound judgmental is very soothing to me (I think it might be because usually if I don't understand something I get called stupid or made fun of like instantly). The ending with the music sync up is just brilliant. Thank you so much for this video.

    • @@Sceptonic if we try we'll probably find it, but a 12 eye portal seems unreasonable (and it shockes me that a 12 eye portal and ignoring neather fortress isn't faster). But the time saved per eye is 1/20th of a second, unless they find a 4 or more eye portal, that would mean 1 less duplication (I think, maybe they need to multiply another thing) EDIT: killing blazes is needed because of the end crystal craft, so you can't skip killing blazes

      @ikercalderon163@ikercalderon163 Жыл бұрын
    • @@ikercalderon163 You need an Eye of Ender for the End Crystal and skipping the dragon is much more crucial to this run. A filled portal would probably save less than a second.

      @Bismuth9@Bismuth9 Жыл бұрын
    • @@Bismuth9 I forgot that eye of ender! A 5 eye portal might save like half a second at best? 1 less blaze duplication and 0.25 seconds less to fill the portal. But probably there aren't seeds as good as this one with a 5 eye portal and structure differences would lose more time for sure

      @ikercalderon163@ikercalderon163 Жыл бұрын
    • @@ikercalderon163 does the duplication take time though? They all happen when pearls are in flight so he would just sit there twiddling his thumbs if he wasn't duping. So he would probably only be saving 12/20 of a second assuming Dylan was placing the eyes every available tick

  • When he showed the run the second time, there's just something about the ending and the music that makes me feel sort of a bittersweet ending feeling. It's weird and hard to explain. It's almost as if this was the run to end them all. The completely perfect and unbeatable record. I can just picture people spending countless hours trying to get this perfect run, and now someone finally does. But the final ender pearl throw almost signifies the end of an era which is minecraft speedrunning which gives me this bittersweet feeling. It's done. the ultimate run, achieved. I know this definitely isn't happening anytime soon, maybe not even at all, but I just get this weird feeling that I just thought I'd share. The music definitely adds to that feeling as well. Love the vid Bismuth

  • 13:06 note 7.5? normally, you can't open your inventory or use a crafting table or other object with a HUD while in the nether portal, but for some reason, the HUD from an object (not the inventory key) will show up for exactly 1 tick. luckily, inventories are no longer tied to the tickrate (since 1.14), so dylan can do all of this in that one tick. note 7.5.5(?): because the 4 second portal entering animation resets when reloading a world, duping in a nether portal doesn't save any time.

    • Yes but the tool also allowed him to savestate, essentially by creating backup saves that he could come back to, so he didn't do it in a single segment. But yes, he did have to "play" at really low tick rates, as opposed to using frame advance.
