Minecraft speedrun logic : A new world record was broken also not even two minutes later a new world record by the same person was beaten with over 1 Minute less than his last speedrun.

I was lost at enderman towers guess I’m too not caught up on strats
I was so sure that this was going to be a joke category for the infinity snapshot. But as the video progressed I realized it couldn't be the case. This is really impressive and genuinely a major change in strategy.
I won the Wii U tutorial world in MC by trading for Eyes of Ender, so villager trading isn't new to me, and nor is its importance.
Fun fact: this video lasts exactly like the Real Time of the speedrun

Nieuh also just got another 19:41 and a 15:37 end enter a few days back (with 2+ mins for stronghold nav!) So this really shows the possible potential with trading strats. Before with enderman towers, people were pace locked so rather than it being how well the whole run is, its just how well and lucky it is after 10ish mins
with a portal with say 3 or 4 eyes maybe time taken getting books would be skimmed
i remember hearing about double instant travel (portal travel)when eliotex first made a vid on it. i thought it would instantly become meta and would completely revolutionise the category...it took a while...but im glad it finally happened :D
Its amazing how much room there is for improvement e.g. getting the beds, gold tool for bookcases and nieuh had 2 extra stacks of spare books at the end of the trading

regardless of creative or survival I rarely find myself trying to get to/beat the dragon, but rather, I just get lost in improving my base and my builds lol

A major reset factor in 1.8 trading is if the librarian restocks enough times to trade all the book for enough emeralds if he villager refuses to restock you must trade with him on a trade that hasn’t been used yet, such as bookshelf, glass etc and each first use of a trade guarantees a restock. Given how many trades are needed it is quite likely that you will need to spend some emerald to get the villager to restock at least once and if you get unlucky enough and run out of new trades or have to use enough emeralds to the point you can’t afford enough eyes anymore, it’s a reset. (This can also happen with eyes on the cleric but since it’s only maybe 2-3 trade cycles on him it’s much less likely) Fairly likely he can enter on good pace? Yes. But no where close to a guarantee.

I've never seen a speedrun with an enderman tower, back when i was watching speedruns people just ran around looking for endermen, I feel really old lmao.

i think its technically not a glitch because the devs just forgot to change the code when sprinting was added so it is basically a game mechanic

cause they are not major glitches and if u see a run where glitches are allowed u would see that entity punching and portal traver are not anything close to what count as major glitches in glitched runs

Why is a glitch (hunger) allowed in RSG (Random Seed GLITCHLESS)?
1. it's very easy to have happen by accident, making moderating it and avoiding doing it really hard. 2. it doesn't really change how the run is played at all, it just makes it more consistent which i think everyone would view as a good thing.

The specific hunger strat I know is not easily able to be moderated (how many times have you punched an entity then started sprinting in mc? I'm sure it happens a lot, and it would unnecessarily invalidate many runs). The portal travel I am not sure on whether it is truly a glitch or an exploit (the difference of which is sometimes hard to define) it could just be intended behavior being used in a weird way (which falls into the category of exploit, not glitch)
yeah the entity punching strat is probably a glitch, but because it happens whenever you hit an entity and you have no control over it happening (you can't exactly just avoid hitting all entities) it's unenforceable and therefore allowed. The portal's are an exploit, not a glitch, in the fact that they are working fully as intended. I don't quite have enough of a way with words to be able to explain the whole process of the portal's, but just think of it as a more complicated pearl hang, using portal connection stuff and unloading/reloading the portals

The definition of "glitch" is arbitrary, and ultimately up to the community. In this case the community has decided that entity punching is allowed because it's impossible to moderate and would be really stupid to ban. The portal removal trick is arguably a glitch, but it's tick perfect and really difficult to time properly. When you kill a portal with TNT on the same tick that you go through the portal, going through the portal is prioritized over the portal being killed. Portal travel uses intended mechanics in an unintended way, whether that counts as an exploit or a glitch is up to you.

@@mika_mdf this run was an exception because nieuh happened to dig into the library before routing the stronghold to find the portal room. this doesn't usually happen; runners will find the portal room, assess the number of eyes, then make their decision. in this run it would've been a time loss to route the stronghold solely to try to save the effort of mining a few more bookshelves.

@@mika_mdf eyes of ender in 1.8 and previous route directly to the portal room, not the entrance like in later versions. there's not much routing involved, just a straight dig into the portal room, and *then* they would route to find a library. this run is an exception because he dug right into a library straight away, meaning he knew where the portal room was (lower in the same chunk) and a library, so it was a timesave to just do all the books first rather than go down and back up, and saved the time other runs would have to spend trying to find a library
