That was some huge hitting from Paula in the first set, but she's also very consistent, and can get a lot of balls back. It's a great combination.

Badosa reminds me of Sharapova in so many ways...it's crazy. Quieter of course, but similar aggression (Maria more aggressive), the EXACT same service motion and stance on FH and especially the cross court BH. Oh, and the face a well. Glad she took out Kerber 😊
Sharapova is cold, Badosa is sweet
Similar aggression is a stretch. Sharapova was way more aggressive, Badosa CAN hit hard but she has a more defensive mindset. Sharapova would never let Kerber dictate this much. It's not a bad thing though, having these defensive qualities as well makes it very tricky to play against her

Yeah, my thoughts as well...I'd say that Paula's got more variety in her game while Maria had a more offensive mindset. Paula comes across as warmer and more approachable while Maria has definitely been the more precocious achiever...Paula is young though, a whole career is still ahead of her. Exciting times!!

People saying that Kerber played badly are underestimating how well Badosa is playing. Paula has been outstanding all tournament, and if she stays focused I see her winning the trophy.

Paula has incredible defense for a very offensive player. Hits such heavy balls with so many first serves in. She’s a future superstar. Don’t forget too how young she is. She’s only 23

Could have gone either way if Angie kept fighting, but I'm so happy she's getting her form back.
Badosa has a game that can be very successful and has potential to get even better. She has compact strokes and is efficient in the way she plays. I hope she finds the consistency that seems to elude most of the other top women in the wta.
Badosa's done well adapting to the 2 most different players out there: Kerber and Jabeur.

I don't know what else does it take for Angie to win it all. I mean she is doing all the right things this year but still falling short on numerous occasions. The only good thing is that she lost to Paula, another favorite player of mine.
Ugh. They showed the same point 3 times, twice in slow motion. In the same time they could have showed us 3 more points.

For a defensive player, Kerber really doesn’t do well on slower surfaces. Probably because she prefers flat shots
Yes, her game is comparable to Lleyton Hewitt's, another defensive player much more comfortable on fast surfaces.

She’s fine. She just made too many errors by being overly aggressive and trying to take the ball extra early.
@@moviefan4life166 That was not the problem, but the unforced errors in the wrong moment. Last game first set and the last two games 2nd set. The aggressive play made her win three games in a row to get back to 5:5.

Lol she was down 5-2 double match point and got to 5-5. That's not fighting like in the past?
What surprised me was how many really close errors Angie made. She played very aggressively and missed the sidelines by inches a number of times and she hit the tape of the net easily 8 times or more. She looked like she wanted to rip winners, but I think in this match, she should have been more patient and waited for better opportunity balls. Badosa deserved to win. She played solid A- tennis and Kerber was more like B- I think the conditions were slow and cool at night and the court is playing so slow that Angie was determined to go for it. If she used her legs, I think it would have been 50/50 match.

Angelique Kerber is not a woman of little physical, that is, she has a somewhat robust structure, but her serves have no strength and little placement, even her drive is not deep or strong.
