  • Oh, I quite like the one at 10:25, because oftentimes I tell myself "I'll build a starter house here, and then come up with a mega base somewhere else," but frequently run out of steam before I get to the mega base. This particular build, however, is very modular/expands with you, and could easily become the mega base. Might need to do that the next time I don't have a theme in mind.

    @OmegaDoesThings@OmegaDoesThings3 ай бұрын
  • Most of these, you can tell from the videos, are made in Creative with some sort of world editor (at some points, like at 10:04, you can actually see the builder move a section of a building, or copy/paste it). Different environment and goal set entirely; don't sell yourself short by comparing the results. :)

  • it would be sort of cool to see a series where jimmy learns to build like a Proper Minecraft Builder with an earnest effort. maybe starting with some of following those simple tutorials, then trying to build something in a similar style/block palette that isn't identical, then thinking about shape and colour and slowly developing. ive loves seeing jimmy slowly become a little bit more confident at building, but having guests on to help with different stages of building (shape, colour, texture, detail, scale, etc) could be a cool way to see how it develops

  • One thing that everyone seems to forget when watching these timelapse "easy builds" is that IT'S A TIMELAPSE, the whole process is sped up, most of the builds likely took weeks to build if not longer, with clearing out space and gathering materials and everything else, when all the gathering of materials is cut out, so all you see is a insanely fast clearing of the build area, the teraforming of said area, and the build going in, all being shoved into a handfull of minutes at most of course it's going to be a "sensational" video. The thing is with timelapses it makes it look exceptionally fast smooth and easy to acomplish. When you actually play you KNOW it's not really that fast easy or smooth. There's times where you'll mess up on a count in the build somewhere which gets cut out of the timelapse. There's gathering everything you need, traveling, repairing tools, fighting mobs, and possibly even ending up loosing everything if a fight goes bad or if you fall too far ect. All of that also gets cut out of timelapse videos. The way i look at these build videos is with all of that in mind. That there's been possibly a month's worth of work if not more that is NOT shown in them to get the result that is seen, we're only shown the best parts edited together with none of the rest involved. Also most of these are done in creative, more than likely sense even in the timelapse you NEVER see the light change for the time of day, getting darker for sun down and sun up, it's always noon in most of them. So they've either set their game mode to ALWAYS be day which is available with commands enabled even in survival worlds id they aren't in creative, OR they are in creative where they have access to all those codes anyway. It's still a lot of work that gets cut out either way, but that's how i look at it. I may be wrong, if so then i admit it and apologize, it's simply my view point with the information that i have available to me. I admire the work that goes into it in any case, they are pretty builds....but i have to disagree with the "easy" or "beginner" tags that a lot of people put on them, as unless you jump into the deep end with building out of the gate like i did (which most people don't because they don't know the blocks and how to get them well enough) that is NOT what a beginner will build...they may WANT to sure...but they don't have the knowledge to be able to unless they poke and prod at the game for a long time and figure out what's what.

  • the trick to build like what they do in the major builds is world edit for terraforming but otherwise the actual building takes a lot of time and practice its a skill that you develop over time, you cant just expect to be able to play Mozart 2nd symphony on the first try, same can be said for building, a trick that can help learning how to build is to start with small projects that can be easily done and gradually increase in difficulty as you go on, most of the time what makes a build pop out is the small details that you add on top of the build like pillars, paths, ageing ware and tear, leaves etc...., just remember to go at it one step at a time and you'll become better at building before along the way.

  • Can we just like- "Jimmy probably spend more time planning than he does building. That has more value." Just to make him feel better-

  • Jimmy, I literally build what feels right. I mod until I'm happy and if I'm never happy I keep destroying or blowing it up until I am.

  • I have made the "expert" level circle base in survival, but it's taken over 2 and a half years and I'm still working on the interior!

  • they are like "you can do this too!" as you watch entire buildings lift a few blocks, revealing the fact they are using world edit.. which means even THEY can't do this in vanilla very easy.
