Student training aid on how to make an SWA cable gland off. Includes a full demonstration on how to fit a SWA gland to SWA cable. This is a step by step guide on how to strip SWA (steel wire amour) cable and correctly fit the gland. We demonstrate each stage of the process as well as the tools required to make off and gland this SWA cable. This demonstration includes using an armour slice and not a traditional hacksaw.

  • Great explanation for learners. But the armourslice is self adjusting so no need to tighten as you go. Another tip for stopping fish hooking of the armour. Wiggle side to side rather than back and forth. Now do a real world install. 4deg outside and pissing it down. 😂 Then move with the times and use a Storm Gland. 😇

  • The Ck slice is Spring loaded and adjusts into the work so there's no need to tighten as you go. I have to admit to preferring flat bladed tools spanners or knipex pliers wrench perhaps a better practice
