He probably actually was being neglected but my personal headcanon was that he wasn’t being neglected at all and just like sometimes in real life, social services was corrupt and called in by people like Circe so they could get to Nervous themselves

My theory for the the "Doe family" is that they could be cannibals. They changed name and moved into a place known for supernatural and odd people. The mom tries to give interviewer tea with a possible sedative in it, judging by how she was so insistent on him drinking it, (possibly to eat them) Mother doesn't know how to cook, but son is great at it (maybe the mother sedates the victims for the son to cook and eat) There was a basement, but it is no longer there anymore, maybe implying that is where they would "prepare" the bodies for whatever they were doing, but they had to get rid of the evidence by destroying the basement due to suspicious caused by them being too "perfect" of a family to the public in a place known for people being odd and different. Joseph angrily walking out could signify he is getting angry at the interviewer denying the drink constantly because he wants to eat them and that could also explain why the mom is getting nervous. I say this as a fan of horror movies and for some reason this family and that scenario reminds me of one, but I can't place the name.

Ive just realized- I have ADHD and struggle A LOT with executive dysfunction. A great analogy would be that I feel like a sim with low autonomy that my simmer has forgotten about. I sit around waving at the camera saying my environment is too dirty, but theres no one there to initiate the task.

The magic outlawing thing is very interesting. So basically, in the Sims 1 all magic is contained into a single neighbourhood, you do not get magic anywhere else. In the Sims 2, there are no open magic places, all supernatural life forms exist as eastereggs, or secrets that are not advertised and you have to run into them as you play. In the Sims 3 however, magical creatures, witches etc live among society and are plentiful everywhere. This is where the Magic Ban theory came from. Basically, the theory is that at some point between the Sims 3 and the Sims 1, magic creatures all started getting pushed into ghettos, then being fully outlawed and sent into hiding in the time between the Sims 1 and the Sims 2. Then the few witches and vampires that still exist are almost like rebels. There is not much else to this theory, as there's no strict lore text around this, but it is a way of explaining why occults are so plentiful in the Sims 3, but basically disappear by the time of the Sims 2.
Plus the Sims 4 (while mostly never helpful to the lore) does suggest infighting between the magical groups, perhaps that all occurred while pushed away in the previous games?

A common tactic for cults is to break your self esteem down and make you feel like you depend on the cult to be happy (even if the cult is actively making it worse) It’s a complicated subject, but I would say no- people in cults are generally not happy, even if they convince themselves that what they are going through is normal. When we get to the Sims 1, suddenly there's laws against magicking in public that were not in place at that time, but those laws are lifted by the time Sims 2 rolls around. Similarly, there are themes of bigotry against paranormal Sims in TS2 (particularly on the part of the Grunts vs. the Smiths and against the Calientes who are IMMEDIATELY suspected once something happens to Bella), which may indicate that the anti-supernatural attitude that produced the anti-magic laws is still prevalent.
It's basically a non-controversiial racism allegory. The baseline plot of the military career in the games (both basegame and console spinoffs) alludes to fighting aliens. The Grunt vs Smiths thing is basiically a "these damn illegal ALIENS" joke

Isn't there a theory that Lolita was Alexander Goth's wife? There are hints that he went back in time to prevent Bella's disappearance and there is a book that can be bought named something like "A Murder in Pleasantview." which shows as written by Alexander. This could also explain why the Sims 4 is a completely separate timeline. Him saving Bella caused a ripple effect that changed the lives of other sims.

the FEAR that sims 2 for DS struck in my heart.... oh my god. I was so guilty of time travelling in the game bc i was impatient and sometimes the game would be able to tell and be like what did you do!!! you messed with the timeline!!! and aliens would be EVERYWHERE and the MUSIC. and they would GET YOU. it was my first experience of existential dread, i was like 9 crying about causing a fake alien invasion my god. i had to mute it and cover my screen to get through it. but wow i want to play it again now. the alien autopsies, finding gold omg so many memories
This game traumatised me I swear. Even playing it as an adult it’s got such a terrifying atmosphere. The music, the vibes… you’re constantly on edge playing it. Definitely not suitable for kids lol.😅

This is the longest video I have watched where I didn't need to do something else while watching it. I loved watching it, I had so much fun and it was nice to poke at these childhood memories of these families that I enjoyed playing with.
I love Iceberg videos, and one common theme i've noticed is that people stop really editing or lose interest as the video goes on because of how tedious icebergs are but this was definitely not the case with you. I loved every minute of this and it really shows just how much care and effort you put into it.

The parallel universe is an official Sims 4 story, as far as I know, as it's not really connected to previous games. But Mortimer's dream is a great theory, except why would he dream of Don banging a milf 😂

To contribute to the piece about Alexander’s “Murder in Pleasantview” - some believe that the Bella who appeared in Strangetown and then Lunar Lakes is not actually the same Bella Goth, but rather a clone implanted with some of her memories. There is evidence in the Sims to support that clones could exist. This may explain why Alexander appears convinced that his mother was murdered, not just abducted.
