Six Months After

A bicycle ride through the streets of Beit Lahia in north Gaza shows the extent of damage caused to buildings and roads during Israel’s military offensive in the Palestinian enclave.
People were seen walking along the ruined streets and piles of rubble, carrying some belongings, while others rode bicycles past destroyed houses and buildings.
Israel launched its war in Gaza after fighters from the Hamas militant group that runs the enclave burst across the border fence on October 7, killing 1,200 people and capturing more than 250 hostages, by Israeli tallies.
Israel retaliated with an air and ground offensive that has killed over 34,000 Palestinians according to local health authorities and reduced much of Gaza to rubble and wastelands.
