this is exactly what i wanted to see after i saw your first review of the hs80s. Awesome content Techne!!
The HS80 has the cleanest sounding mic I’ve heard on any headset just Imagine the hs80 with the XTs aesthetic, build, and features at the $150-200 price point. 🤯
100% agree. I love the clean, natural sound of the hs80 mic. I can add noise gate and eq if I want, but it's nice to start with a neutral and natural sound. Baffles me that people think the virtuoso's mic sounds better.
mic on the old virtuoso actually far better than the SE and XT variant, if not the same with HS80, trust me.
Am I going crazy with all this research into premium gaming headsets or does the XT’s sound ever so slightly sound more like a pilot style type sound when compared to the HS80? Had I never of heard what the HS80’s sounded like I probably would never have thought that about the XT. But when they are directly compared I can’t help but think the 80’s are just that bit better. This is so frustrating because the XT’s have all the features I want 😢
@@James-fv1cm Go with whats comfortable, if you have big ears than you may not like the hs80. I've heard the XT can have a tight squeeze for those that have bigger heads. Personally the HS80s are some of the most comfy headphones I've ever worn, the XTs padding wasn't the best and it felt like the pleather was going to break apart.
@@cylerner hi mate, I went for the XT’s with new ear cups from wicked 😀
I have been stuck on this decision for a while and this video helped ALOT, covered all the points i wanted and beyond, getting the hs80!
currently rocking the hs60 haptic, torn between these 2 for my next upgrade, thanks for making this easy. will go for the hs80!
Thanks for the review! Love how HS80 mic sounds, so clean and natural voice!!👏🏻👏🏻 I have got decided 👍🏻
Hope they make a premium version of the HS80 with Bluetooth and an amp. Dream headphones.
Yep, the HS80's mic is so godlike!
Great review! Wow where have this man been? How did I not see this channel sooner?! C’mon KZhead! Recommend some more channels like THIS!
Don't need fancy metal features just want great sound and mic! Nice review thanks!
You should be able to lower the volume of the voice prompts by turning down iCUE in windows volume mixer. That's what I do for my Corsair Void Elite wireless and it works like a charm. It works for both the voice prompts and the beep prompts, depending on what you have it set to, and you can even just mute it completely if you want.
The best thing about the virtuoso is the connectivity features. I got it because I can easily listen to 2 sources at the same time. The sound quality is not the greatest but is still not bad. If they would make a headset with the design of the hs80 or the void, with the multi connection features of the virtuoso xt and bump the sounfmd quality up just a bit they would have an absolute winner!
Man... What a wonderful description of the difference in the sound depending on the material of the cushions...
wow, I was waiting for you to switch to the HS80 mic and when you switched to the virtuoso I realized we were hearing the HS80 all along. amazing mic quality!
I got the Corsair Virtuoso XT and the Roccat Kone Pro Air based on your recommendations. No regrets... I love the combo here. Thanks a lot for your videos. More power to your channel.
How is virtuoso for comfort? I heard the clamping force is too high
@@taimooraleem From what i heard is that the virtuoso and virtoso se (not sure, the 2nd one i believe) have a high clamping force and are uncomfortable, from the xe i heard that they improved it and that they arent clamping anymore
@@Siimon0803 I ended up buying Logitech G935 lol. Thanks tho
Aloha from Hawaii! I was LITERALLY about to buy the XTs but much Mahalos for the HS80s review. I know exactly what I'm gonna get now
Ty for this, returning my XTs tomorrow for the sole reason of the way it feels "sitting" on my head, which I thought was an excellent description on your part. Came from steel series and that headband is what i want. Will be buying the HS80s instead, your review is what I needed.
Should i get the hs80 or steelseries artics 9?
Exactly, my virtuosos just dont feel the same coming from the arctis. It feels super premium and all but they give me head pain after long gaming sessions.
Wanted to follow up and say this was 100% the right call, and your review helped me. HS80s are friggin great and i dont "need" the bluetooth.
@@blum2984 They're both good, HS80 is inspired from SteelSeries, but Arctis 9 has BT but is $50 more. If you don't care for it, then get the HS80 (with the better mic)
7 months after getting the HS80's what can I say they sound amazing so much so I would put them up against Sennheiser and EPOS headphones in terms of sound qulity but in terms of comfort I would have to give them 1 out of 5 stars, I do have are larger then normal head and I feel that's why I find these headphones so uncomfortable the lack of adjustment I'm normally used to with other headphones work great for me but since I do have a large head the bungee system doesn't work for me so that's something to consider if you are looking at getting these and you do have are large head hope this helps anyone thats looking into getting these headphones.
Great comparison review brother. 😎👍🤙
good review, i got the hs80s as a replacement for the hyperx cloud s alphas and it is a night and day difference. comfort, sound, quality, ease of use, microphone, its all very good.
I´m happy to read just this since I currently have the HyperX and I´m going today to buy HS80....looking forward to the diffrence! :)
@@Womtek1 so did you liked it?
This is exactly what I wanted to see!
As a virtuoso user, I vote for HS80 even if I never got a chance to try them. Virtuoso are squeezing my head and ears like nut cracker and at the same time putting so much pressure on top my head. They really look good though…when they are sitting on the headphone stand.
I have the hs80 and it is really is that comfortable. You can easily wear it for 6 hours straight without the need to adjust the headset on your head. The best thing is that i got for less than 90 bucks on black friday
Do you have the normal virtuoso's or the xt?
Do you have the SE or XT?
Seriously I 100% agree with this, they looked so good but wearing them was torture and mine broke because of the pressure on the joint connected to the headband. Glad they changed the design to a wider and more solid joints.
I think you are talking about the SE
THANK YOU FOR USING SIEGE AS A REFERENCE, as the primary game i play and what i base the sounds from a headset off of ive been on the ropes for weather i should upgrade my hs70 pro surround to the hs80
i just bought hs80 bcos your video haha, thank you its really nice
Managed to order a used Virtuoso in excellent condition from Amazon in Italy for 125 Euro and will receive it this Tuesday. I'm looking forward to it
Good to know that they sound more or less the same. I returned my Virtuoso because I thought they sounded terrible in addition to being extremely uncomfortable.
Ear cups on the virtuoso are not hard to replace. I actually ordered some from ebay for like $8 to replace the default ones when I first bought the headset. The new ones have more depth and better breathability.
hey mate can you link me where you can get new earpads
We NEED a comparing to the Corsair HS80 vs g pro wireless✔
I've had the Virtuoso RGB SE and my head starts to hurt after 30mins of having them on. Currently looking at bying the HS80 instead. Great review, just felt like giving my input after using the Virtuoso for a year now.
Thanks for this bud🤝
Really Solid Review, I Wish The XT had the mic of the HS80 tho or if the hs80 had bluetooth, i ordered the xt because i gotta have that bluetooth
A HS80 with bluetooth would be amazing! They already have the HS70 Bluetooth, so an upgrade to that model to the current line up would be fantastic as well, for example having the same exact HS65 surround headset but with bluetooth, that would be an immediate purchase for me right now. I would use them for gaming via cable and for work calls I would use the bluetooth. Make it happen Corsair please 😍😍
The HS80 is wireless. Did you see a wire in the video while he was doing the Mic-test?
@@leftichr.4031 it doesn’t have Bluetooth, only the 2.4 GHz dongle. Didn’t you see the specs or did I mention that they were not wireless?
@@leoneldb60 but they have wired and wireless option right?
Keep it up man ! Been holding off on getting a wireless headset as I couldn’t make my mind up on steel series or astros .. then all of a sudden these drop and it looks like steel series & astros had a baby !
Which one did you get??
@@LoLo-vh2hn I ordered the HS80 got them yesterday and they are amazing! I’m still new to EQ settings so I’m playing around with that but overall they are super comfortable, everyone says I’m really clear on chat and battery life has been good but I do have rgb off
@@tellis17 thanks man I’m really on the fence about grabbing the steel series pro or these?? I need a good mic and sound for competitive play and streaming
@@LoLo-vh2hn I went to best buy and tried on the steel series never actually owned them and both are very comfortable. But Seeing the mic reviews I was not impressed with steel series mic and when I heard the HS80 I was pretty much sold. So far everyone I talk with says I sound great , so I’m definitely happy with them 👌🏻👍🏻
Update after month use absolutely love this headset !
I’m tempted to go to the HS80 wireless because of its microphone alone. It sounds better than the Arctis Nova Pros since SteelSeries tends to sound more nasily. Just hope the sound is good on console
I had the HS80 until recently and I was really impressed by the sound, microphone and, above all, the wearing comfort. But....the battery life made me buy another wireless headset. My HS80 lasted a maximum of half a day (8 hours). And with the RGB lighting switched off. I was so annoyed that at some point I always left the charging cable connected. I then switched from Windows 10 to 11 and guess what In Windows 11 it totaly didnt work for me at all. I had done everything to get this thing to work but no chance. Now I own the Steelseries Arctis Nova Pro and am super happy with it. Top sound, microphone with sonar also set well and the battery life is a dream!
yo bro i have nova pro but think to try hs80.. in bass sound and clear soundstage which one is better?
It would be cool if you compared this headset with some of the hyperX line. HyperX cloud flight s, or the cloud 2. Thanks!
Great review loving the virtuosos.but now I want the hs80 also probably will buy them later. The wife my kill me for buying another headset 😂
Just an update, but I bought both and you are accurate that the HS80 is more comfortable. The XT didn't seal around my ears as well, and it also felt like it was sitting on my head. Man, I really hope Corsair updates the HS80 to be their next flagship design. I wouldn't mind a better positional mic, and of course bluetooth would be awesome.
I thought hs80 was Bluetooth
@@jcap8391 no. just wireless via dongle
@@stelonous Any other downsides?
@@jcap8391 sometimes if I have a game on and a YT video it can get a touch staticy. That's about it. The mic could have a better arm but it works and the mic itself is really good.
What would you prefer ?
Definitely hs80 are one of the best headset going around s hands down !!!!
Nice video. Does the HS offer high bit rate with USB mode and Dolby Atmos like the Virtuoso?
Thanks for your info. Which would you recommend for the Xbox Series X? Currently looking at the Corsair Virtuoso XT, JBL Quantum One and Hyper X Cloud Orbit S
I'm getting the HS80 cause it's cheaper than the Virtuoso in my country. Thank you!
Kindly review some budget IEM's that can be used for gaming ....considering the Blon-03
Just as a tip: If the voice prompts are to loud you can turn down the volume in the windows soud mixer :)
Thank God for that. I dont want my headphones talking to me.
Best channel for gaming headsets reviews.
thank you so much
Thks for your video. For you the best it's hs80 or virtuoso se ? I need headset for work. Best regards from Belgium
dude i have these HS80 this long and ddint know how to adjust them your the man .....
Few notes from me on the HS80. Take wired. Sounds quite a lot better. Use the USB dongle. Makes massive difference. And... If you've got a even SLIGHTLY bigger than medium head. It won't fit at all. Made for tiny heads.
I gotta know man...where do you stand now on the xt vs the SS pro wireless? I know you have boxed them a couple times..have they come back out or is this new XT still winning out?
I just now right this second bought the hs80 and will arrive in the next couple of hours 😊
Was pleased with your previous virtuoso review, but now i think its time to sell my hs70 and get hs80. Excellent work. Greetings from Argentina.
did you adjust eq in this review or is it standard
Great review~
awesome, keep it up!
Great vid as always. Circle air cushion are not comfortable for hours of usage ( I have them on ~5 hours a day) had to return the virtuoso xt because of it. amazing build quality and the bluetooth is awesome but cant keep them on, hurts my ears. Going back to my hyperx cloud revolver s. Can you review the 'new' hyper x cloud revolver (2021) vs the cloud revolver s (2017) vs the hs80. I know they are not wireless but sound quality and comfort are key
Only thing stopping me from purchasing anything corsair for ps4/ps5 is lack of eq console support, especially considering how much everyone says the sound improves on these when u dabble on those eqs
You know Techne, you could let Bluetooth go as a requirement since your Apple Watch will notify you of a call right?
Alright what about in fps games like cod or battlefield multiplayer, can we feel difference foot sounds if compare these headsets: Virtuoso SE, HS80, Arctis Pro Wireless, Arctis 9 ? Thanks...
Take the hs80 build and add the better quality/features of the xt and you have the best in the market hands down nothing else would compete. They need to make that happen.
xt is a novelty all round headset while the hs80 is gaming strictly and also tries to compete at its price point, which it seems to be doing quite well
Hi can you please compare this new one hs80 with Corsair void elite rgb wireless also
Hey! Can you do a direct comparison with Logitech G733? they have very similar price
There’s reports that the battery life of the HS80 is about 8-hours, and not the advertised 20. Also, reports say it takes 3-hours to charge. The mic, although clear and natural sounding is very flimsy. Reports of people saying the EQ presets are awful minus Pure Direct, which is recommended you leave it on.
Really wish the HS80 had a detachable microphone. The HS70 Pro has one, why can't the "successor" do it too? Seems like an oversight
Hi. I just want to ask where I can buy a replacement earcups for the HS80? The cloth cover on mine is starting to peel off 🙁.
are we able to bend the mic on the HS80 to position it nearer to the mouth or will that break it?
I already ordered and paid for a pair of HS80s based on another of your comparison videos, but now I wish I'd bought the Virtuosos, which I didnt know existed. Why would they sell headphones that people around you can hear? If I wanted that I would pump the stereo. Can I get different muff attachments for my HS80s?
I order the beyerdynamic MMX 150. And now looking at the Virtuoso I'm not sure about my purchase. I'm still waiting for fir them to arrive I'm not sure what to do.
i bought 2 of virtuoso rgb se (black metal) and 1 hs80 wireless (black). i love both of it but somehow the hs80 after install icue/corsair driver, it reduce the mic volume volume to -6 db, so i had to tweak with 3rd app, EqualizerAPO. By change the value Preamp: from -6 dB to 11 now its louder and better. i tried already with icue mic boost +10 dB but result is still same, which is slow/low mic.
Hey ! I have headphones now Asus Rog Delta, but I want to try the wireless version of the corsair hs80, please tell me, if you compare in sound quality, which headphones are better? i ordered a corsair but i'm afraid i'm going to scatter in sound quality after the Asus Rog Delta?
10:22 I thought you were introducing the mic, not using it ... With my soundbar I didn't hear a difference between your mic and the HS80 mic
could you please do a razer barracuda vs the hs80 plsss
I tested both of them and for pure gaming te hs 80 tackes the win. The virtuoso are good if you want a multifunctional headset, for pc and phone or waht ever you are going use with them.
Review more studio headphones?
The EQ settings you set on PC using the app will not apply when you're going to use it on PS5
hs80 mic will also light red and give a feedback tone if you are out of range.
I absolutely love my Virtuoso SE, but I'm a little bit annoyed that you can only take off the mic and not collapse it, and it also makes my ears sweat and feels heavy after using it for hours. I might consider switching to this new one, all I need to know is if the dongle also allows you to connect a mouse at the same time?
No. As far as I know. corsair doesn't have any unifying tech.
How do I use 2 Corsair HS80s on the same computer for podcasts and live streaming with 2 people?
Maybe you can help me out..I took back the virtuoso because when I downloaded the cue software,,I could not hear anything,,what could have gone wrong???.. thank you in advance
HS80 all day long, been using logi pro wireless, blackshark v2, jbl quantum, audeze penrose and 3 steelseries and HS80 is my favorite
I bought the HS80 for 99 € Besides some problems on discord when I plug the usb-c in/out I like those so far . I'm really enjoying them with the EQ boost when playing R6 Siege but battery seems to run low quick after a couple rounds with my boys
Hey @techne, I have same comfort issues as you do with pressure on the sides and top of the head with glasses. Which one would you recommend? - I need good mic for discord - chat/game balance would be good because discord and raiding - sound is also important - comfort above all. - wireless preferred due to glasses and mic but can use wired if need be so not a deal breaker - BT not important at all - PC gaming only I’ve tried following and returned: - blackshark V2 (comfort was ok, ear pads felt a bit warm after use, and had to readjust everytime I put it on, which is annoying) - pro x: too much pressure on the sides - hyper x: again comfort is not the best - roccat syn pro air: was really good sound and mic. But same feeling as you that the ear cups kept itching/scratching a bit and it was annoying enough to return it - kraken tournaments sound wasn’t that exciting tbh Should o try HS80?
Virtuoso has more flexibility and better build quality
I brought the Corsairs virtuoso xt because I watched your videos, and the headset sounds amazing, but I use it with my Xbox series x and it doesn’t have audio via usb wich is sad because I can’t play with the sound, when I use it with the laptop and I changed the sound a bit, it sounds like a totally different headset a much more better sound.
Does anyone have a problem with the HS80 mic? I like having sidetone so I can hear myself talk, but switching from the Void Pro to the HS80 I CANNOT hear any sidetone, even maxing it out..
Just bought the Virtuoso today after using the HS80 wireless for 6 months now.. I’m seeing if it has better audio or not. The HS80 has a fantastic mic! Amazing for streaming too. I hope the Virtuoso is better sound quality wise…
Hey bud! Just checking if which do you think is better after using both?
@@alaricjedi hands down the HS80 are better.
@@Smokegodbrodie great to hear! Im looking to getting the HS80 tomorrow too. I appreciate the response. Thank you!
Hey, I've been using the Virtuoso SE for 2 years and I actually want to switch to the HS80 wireless because it seems much more comfortable, but do you know if the HS80 can be put away it the Virtuoso storage pouch ? It would be very nice to carry it
if i could remote the mic as well it would have been an instant buy for me
Love the video just like usual but I want the funny sub-sections back, please. :) Thanks. Love the detailed comparision.
Sub sections?
Great vid! would love to see them compared to the black shark v2 pro since they are in the same price range more or less. Both look comfy and THX Spatial Audio vs Dolby
I would love the black shark v2 but razors track record is holding me back.
@@johnnylong2049 One of the greatest headset i have mic is great sound quality is amazing in games but for music its not great
Bought the v2 pro wireless, returned it real quick, mic sounded borderline walkie talkie, the frequency could only go up like half the amount the virtuoso could. Which is sad because the blackshark felt so much nicer to wear and provided so much better sound
is there a button to mute mic on the hs80 instead of moving the mic up and down?
Flip up mute mic is a huge seller for me. Logitech mostly has it, so been stuck with them and that stupid gHub. I love Corsair, my keyboard is a K70 - best ever! So eyeing that HS80 now :P
I like the shape of the void, but the sound of the virtioso. yes I know the void is not in here, but those are my two favorites from corsair.
does RGB work while using bluetooth? can it be controlled or is it static white or with pallet of colors or what was previously set up by iCUE on PC?
can anyone help me with choose. Im choosing with Corsair HS80, Corsair Virtuoso and sony wh-1000xm4 but to sony i read that i need to buy ldac transmitter
If the HS80 gets bluetooth it would be a beast
Yes 😅
HS80 looks better imo, but that non-detachable mic is the deal breaker for me.
Pls tell me youre going to compare this with audeze penrose...
oh my god,,, this video makes me subscribed,,,, really need this comparison,,, then my choice is : HS80
This is such a hard choice. I think HS80 slightly edges virtuoso. Some of the things come down to preference. But if they basically sound the same, and the mic sounds better on HS80 & hs80 is more comfortable, the only downside is the lack of Bluetooth connection. Which you can actually rig up a solution for that. Buy a Bluetooth aux adapter and zip tie it to the head strap or something. So your phone wirelessly connects to the Bluetooth receiver which then plugs into the headset via aux cable. You’ll potentially experience a slight audio delay more so than you might with a dedicated Bluetooth receiver built in, but for music & phone calls that doesn’t affect anything. Just videos and mobile gaming maybe
why couldn't Corsair go back to that mic they had on the original Virtuoso (non-SE)? That was the best mic of all three.
If i buy virtuoso xt do the ear caps from the hs80 fit on xt so yeah gonna buy xt and get the hs80 earphone caps
Would you recommend the Cloud 2 wireless version over the virtuoso xt or would the hs80 be better alternative to compare against the cloud 2 wireless - > if so what would you recommend taking everything into account from here. Im looking to upgrade from my wired cloud 2 headphones to wireless
I would go XT, but the hs80 is amazing at its price point
The Virtuoso gave me a horrible head pinch right at the top of my scalp after about 30 minutes. Hope the HS80’s sit much better. Sound and mike on Virtuoso was exceptional!
