  • Toyota is ALL in on mild Hybrids , rather than pure electric. They were very prescient to understand that 95% of car buyers don’t want 100% electric vehicles, due to their limitations.

    • A "mild" hybrid is typically referring to something like Honda's Integrated Motor Assist where the battery was merely an assist and not powerful enough to move the car by itself.

    • ​@@scott8919not even that. Mild hybrid is usually an electronic low voltage system usually used to run electronics like the radio or AC or something. Some systems can use it for a short power boost and can boost efficiency marginally. This is a full hybrid system. I think maybe he's saying it's not a plug in hybrid which it for sure is not. Maybe in a couple of years for that one. I think it's coming

  • I love that they integrated the screen into the dash unlike alot of manufacturers these days that throw it up onto the dash has if it was an afterthought.

  • 😊 My 2017 Pearl White xle camry I bought new now has 205k on it, runs and drives and looks like new still. Other THAN OIL CHANGES, 4 sets of tires , only front set of brake pads I put on last summer everything else is stock and untouched. It's amazing how it just keeps running smooth as silk. I prefer to drive this over my new 4 runner bulk of the time. Money well saved couldn't go wrong!!!!

  • Thank GOD someone is reviewing the XLE LE model! I'm so sick of everyone focusing on the XSE. People aren't looking to Camry for a sporty drive! You buy a Camry for a comfortable, reliable, affordable car to take you to work. It may sound like a negative term but it's not! Toyota Camry is an amazing "car as an appliance", and that is a GOOD thing!

    • Odd, EV's are more and more popular here in Europe. Not Tesla, so much where I live. Muzk is a fascist Putin supporter. Kia, Skoda, Audi, VW and the Leaf are very popular here in Prague. For America, Toyota understands Americans have very very cheap gasoline and half the country are magats, so won't bother with EV's for the US market.

  • Na, 8 gen body styling was much better. Once I found out in 2025 only option was a hybrid and no v6 I bought a 24 TRD model. Luckily my sales guy located one in 2 weeks and had it for me. In the color I wanted wind chill pearl.

  • I don't mind the hybrid versions but there should be ICE versions as well to keep pricing down. Hybrids generally cost more than gas-only versions. The Camry may lose its status as the top selling car in America because of this decision.

    • They cost more to buy and they cost a lot more to fix when, not if, there's a problem with the hybrid system. I'll be grabbing a '24 before I end up with some hybrid/cvt car.

  • Wow, Toyota was just talking about powertrain "choice" for consumers this year and now they have no choice at all on one of their high volume cars. It looks like they just want to prove their prediction about hybrids come true, and be able to say "see consumers only want hybrids".

    • It's an eCVT. Its a very simple setup that uses two electric motors to put power through a planetary gear set. More robust and reliable than a traditional belt CVT.

    • @@broeheemed32 full hybrids have rather large and expensive batteries as part of the hybrid system, and these degrade over time and need to be replaced.

    • Toyota camry batteries are good for usually 200k miles. Their brake pads last even longer. New batteries are usually only 2k and easy to install.

  • My 2020 Camry SE with 70k miles, still going strong, running like a top. No Hybrid BS, no “Start-Stop Buttons to annoy you. Just pure reliability, I’ll have this car for 500k miles with my Clock work 5000k Amsoil changes. 👍 and upkeep

    • @@elithegreat6463 I have no idea what button you are talking about in toyota hybrids, the engine will turn off when it needs/wants to. I own a rav hybrid, a lexus hybrid and a prius. Its how hybrids work, you cant even tell when the engine turns off or turns back on. All these cars will last as long as a pure gasoline car, probably even longer due the simplicity of the eCVT and efficient operating engine.

  • Good lukc finding one of these. Everyone laughed at toyota when they said EVs arent gonna work out. Now whos laughing?. I drive an ES300h and this car will out last eveything. Everyone just copies toyota, ford even licensed the toyota eCVT for the fusion cause they couldn't compete.

    • @@matt4398 I agree. I've driven that same powertrain in a Lexus ES350 & it had too much power going to the front wheels & never put the power down nearly as good as my RWD 2016 Lexus GS350 F-Sport for example.

  • The fact Toyota is calling this Camry the "9th Generation" is a total joke when it's literally the same car as the current Camry with just heavily modified front and rear ends. There has never, in the history of the Camry nameplate, a generation that there wasn't a completely new body, greenhouse, and interior until now. Even Honda was able to produce a totally new Accord, but Toyota to charge current prices for decades old technology hiding underneath. Just like the dated Lexuse IS. The Japanese car companies have been really lagging behind the rest of the worlds in terms of innovation, fresh new product and a variety of models to choose from.
