gonna do this with my star wars despecialized blu rays
Dude! That's why I'm here! haha
@@HORSESNDOGS9 same!
I would love to do this for some of my DVDs and blu rays in my collection. I'll make one for my Friday the 13th collection (all 12 movies, plus the Crystal Lake Memories documentary and the Killer Extras bonus disc from 2004) and most of all, for my copy of the Star Wars despecialized editions (akin to the Definitive Collection Laserdisc box set; only small enough to fit 3 clear Scavano blu ray cases). This video is very helpful and I can't thank you guys enough for inspiration.
this is genius..never imagine it would be this easy, great idea on that sticker btw
This is great! I want one for my Holic manga because the covers are black with gorgeous artwork and I’m trying to prevent color fading, but I’m probably going to be making this for every single collectibles I own. Thanks for sharing!
I have a collection of anxieties. Will process work for them? Nice video, and very well explained.
Wow that’s a wonderful idea, but can you suggest something for more than 100 boxes, like I have to deliver my t shirts and I need a good quantity so right now managing it from bluebirdpackaging.com custom boxes company. But would like to know more about it
It looks great! Very nice job!
Oooh great idea!
Can you make a tutorial on how to print/make VHS boxes?
From others I've seen, especially the slip sleeve cases you will need a large format printer that allows 100gm paper. You could piece them together kinda like he is doing but not sure how good it would look.
You are amazing. Thank you times a million!
Awesome idea
Great idea !!!!!!!!!!
Damn, this is awesome!
The best thank you for sharing ❤️❤️
That is a cool idea! Nice job! :-)
Cool! Im gonna make one for series 1 of "friends"!
I made a large on for my Seinfeld collection... wasn't a work of art but I had a lot of fun in the process.
Sweet! Im looking to do this for my Season 1 collection of Sword Art Online. Im gonna use some glossy sticky paper to print off this neat design art used for the US limited editions. That way it can match my Season 2 Collectors Edition!
do you happen to have any pictures of the final product? Im going to make some box sets for my anime that didn't have a limited edition. Was it hard? any tips?
@@tommydoughty9681 unfortunetely it didn't turn out so well due to various things. I do aim to try again though eventually just havent been able to get around to it. Tips would be if you get something printed, probably best go to a professional printer. As for the box itself, I'm still looking into options for that.
Epic!
If you are going to make a box set wouldn't it be better to use archival safe materials to preserve the longevity of your magazines or books. I know when I was a picture framer at Michael's Arts & Crafts we had to use archival safe tape, and acid free materials. Cardboard from old books presents a problem for longevity because they still break down over time due to acid in the papers, and can yellow your collections of nice Make: magazines. Just curious. Good video though.
What sort of material would you recommend instead of cardboard?
0:23 - A Series Of Unfortunate Events :) (Desventuras em Serie)
i like my filns
I need to do this for vinyl records. I own a lot of box sets but there are many bands who have many albums but no box sets and I’d love to house them all in a custom made box but I think it’s gonna be harder due to the 12x12 size and most printers are like 9x14 or whatnot and I need to make a color copy or else it’s gonna look awful.
Is there a way to protect them? I got a box set cover that is peeling and want to keep as close to new
wow, very nice
Like, thanks man.
I used a similar technique to make a book prop of my latest short film 'Just There' on my film channel Gravitate Productions.
How do you match the the size of the box for the cover art?
Clever!
would a box cutter work to trace and cut the shape of the item being placed into the box set?
How do you scale something to the size you need, and not pixels?
I'm looking to do this for half of my Berserk Manga collection, only issue is, I don't know if this same strategy would apply to that. Seeing as how it would need to house at least 15-20 in each of the sets and hold at least 5-8lbs. I could always try and see what happens...
6 years later I'm here for the same reason. I'm planning on splitting then into smaller boxes of maybe 5 which art of something relevant from something in those specific mangas. It'll be more effort but look cool
MARACUYAAAAAA!!!!
I'll be doing this for my Twilight Zone collection
vou fazer também :)
What thickness of board do you recommend?
Wow that is really nice collection of Unfortunate Events!
Thanks making this homemade manga
gonna do this for all of my 23 john carpenter blu rays
Sticker paper?
Does anyone know where I can a template for a blu-ray box set that holds 6 cases?
Would this work with spray painting?
A grabbed my book to place in the box I made. But it had pieces cut out of it! D:
How to have a gloss finish over the sticker paper?
Buy glossy sticker paper
how to protect the ink from smudging al over the place?
After it dries, you can use a lamination sticker.
I’m doing this for my comic collection
But how do you know how to do spine of box?
First!!!!! Great video BTW
I would like these for my bibles!
Я таким же путем в детстве делал обложки для видеокассет
wow
This is awesome but I need 50! Is there a company?
Not sure how I feel about using a book just to get 50 cents of cardboard.
GeorgeGraves I feel really bad about that - don't destroy books just to salvage cardboard!
Janusz Sowa what about using them to start a fire?
GeorgeGraves its not cardboard like the guy says. It's chipboard and it's not exactly super cheap. I agree though, unless the book was already damaged but somehow the cover was fine...
***** If it's the Koran, that's fine.
ardvarkkkkk1 Seriously; not cool. Don't go flippantly offending people if you give a crap about anybody.
I could do this for my Star Wars Bluray/DVD collection.
I'm doing the same thing. I'm doing it for my steelbook collection.
Same I'm taking all of the vhs releases and converting them to bluray then wanna make cases for the trilogies based off the cases the tapes came in
I got how to make a DVD how to make a box and how to make a Blu-ray cover I'm going to have my own movie on DVD and Blu-ray
Second
Did anyone else do this for a box set for manga like Tokyo ghoul cos they couldn’t find the actual boxset
Make a five DVD wided custom box please
NEVER use masking tape for a project that you want to last for a long period of time. The adhesive is not strong and the tape will dry up and peel after only a few years.
Suggestions for a better alternative?
Hot glue, rubber cement, and super glue work well
we are for death :))
I could use this for my Mark Wahlberg movie collection but the problem is I have a lot of them and the box would be huge. I'd maybe put four movies in each box b/c I already have an aliens box set.
coondogtheman1234 A better solution for a Mark Wahlberg box set would be to use a trashcan. Simply arrange all of the movies in the trashcan so that they all fit, then walk away.
malachi1616 Hater.
Did anyone else read 'custom sex bot' at first glance?
Aaron Higgins our minds are dirty
Aaron Higgins What's weird is that I read your comment as 'custom box set' and couldn't figure out what you meant.
Yes 😄
No...
people really need a video for this?
