Excellent tutorial, Thanks man!
Glad you liked it! 😁
Oh my God!! Dude, I've been working on a mix CD for the first anniversary with me and my girlfriend and your video is freaking awesome! I wish I had the time to redo what I've done already and use this guide. Instead, I used the back cover of another CD that had a white background and handwrote the tracklist and just used a photo for the front. The cover was too small, so I had to use scraps to fill in the blank spots 😢. Next time will be way better. You rock!
I mean, it sounds way cooler that way if you ask me! Actually, that way is how I started doing diy musical packaging. I got an old digipak to make my friend a mixtape, I collaged clippings on magazines on top of the existing case. Eventually I reverse engineer everything and that's how I got to where I am today. So, keep up the good work!
Thank you so much!! This looks quite difficult for a beginner but it is extremely helpful!
You can do it! I was a beginner too, and self-taught, so I believe you will get it in no time!

what kind of paper did you use for the booklet?
thanks you so much for this helpful information..
You are welcome!
omg you did it so well
Thank you! 😊
If you haven't yet, maybe you could put up a tutorial on how to transfer artwork from digipak/cardsleeve packed CDs to jewel cases. I scanned the back covers of some of those card sleeve CDs in my collection but am not too good at photo editing, though I have been using GIMP recently but nowhere near good with it yet.
THIS IS F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C ♥
Thank you so much!
Great video 🔥♥️
Amazing video! Thank you!
Glad you liked it!
oh god you're the same person i watched that made the same packaging but for cassettes 2 years ago, and now I'm learning on a cd lmao
As a CD collector, this is a very helpful video when you want to have physical copies of songs that haven't been officially released. One more question if you don't mind. What kind of printers do you use for that glossy paper, ink jets, or laser? Thanks
Biiiig thank you!! ❤🎉
Hey! Think you could make a tutorial for the slip cases? I’ve been thinking of making physical CD copies of my EPs and was thinking of bundling them together in a slip case 😊
One slip case tutorial coming tomorrow! And another version next week 😁
@@ACrafterinTraining What computer software are you using for this and can it be used for PC and Samsung devices?
@@y.t.d.7912 using adobe photoshop
THANK YOU SO MUCH 💙
You're so welcome! 😄
what type of paper do you use to print out your inserts?
this is so helpful! just struggling how to print double sided hahaha
You might have to do it manually, until you get it right. I messed up pages and ink until I got it right the first times 😅
Thank you SO much 😍
You're welcome 😊
What kind of paper did you use for all of this? I noticed the booklet and CD are shiny.
i believe its magazine paper
Or known as glossy paper, I think you need a specific printer though
In France its name « papier glacer » so that mean Frozen paper
where I live we call it text paper, it is really similar to magazine paper
100lb text paper
what are the dimensions of the booklet? When you insert the pages into PhotoShop, that's where i would like to know the dimensions of the pages! Thank you!
amazing
Thank you!
thank you so much man
Happy to help
This video saved my life
Glad I was able to help
I can't understand how does the print part work? How do i literaly print the first 2 pages 2 sided? thanks!
Thank you 🙏❤️
You are so welcome
Thanks informasion
OK I'm making all the albums I have on my playlist 😂❤
haha yes! That's awesome!
Good DIY ! On what paper did you print the booklet ? It was shiny
I love your videos. What paper do you use for printing booklets in Jewelcases?
My local printer center is able to print in magazine-type-paper which makes it look really shiny, while also being thin and malleable. If you are unable to get that kind of paper, you can try printing it with laser printer as the ink makes regular paper look shiny.
Where did you get the Noah Cyrus back cover? im trying to find where to get this typer of image but i cant find anything
thanks
I'm lost on how to print the pages of the booklet double sided. I have a double sided printer, just not sure what steps to do to print my page layers double sided.
Hey there, silly question here, but where do you purchase your jewel cases? I've been on the hunt for something a little more durable and those look like they fit the bill. Anyway, great tutorial!
I get mine online, amazon but back in the day, I used to buy used CDs and use the cases for my projects.
thank you so much
You're welcome!
Hey, thanks for the video! Can you tell me which type of paper and printer settings you've for both the booklet and the CD label? Thanks!
For the booklet and the back, I used text paper with a laser printer, it is similar to magazine paper. With the cd label I use premium semi glossy sticker paper. As for the printer, I actually go to a printer center to get my project printed for me. All I know is that they have a professional epson printer.
good video, thank you
you're welcome
You are amazing
Thank you!
does this work with other software like gimp? since I can't afford photoshop and I was just wondering :P
YOU LEGEND
Thanks !
just a question i have a clear case, and i want to do an inside design. do both versions of the back cover have to be the same size? or does the outer one have to be smaller? just wanted to make sure before i make a mistake
No, both the inside and outside should be the same size
could i just use canva?
Hey. I love you videos. I just wanna know what paper did you use for printing the CD inlays?
My local printer center is able to print in magazine-type-paper which makes it look really shiny, while also being thin and malleable. If you are unable to get that kind of paper, you can try printing it with laser printer as the ink makes regular paper look shiny.
Can you do using a canva?
This is great I’m so exited to make fake Britney cds
Glad you enjoyed it!
Do you know if theres any way to do this on a phone? I dont have a laptop or computer or anything to use for it😭
If I don’t have photoshop how can i use the template
Is it safe to use a glue stick on a blank cd when applying the label? It won't damage the cd or make it unreadable?
I've done it before and it does not affect the CD but it has to be craft glue, industrial glue MIGHT damage the CD.
Could you please do a video on how to make a box set for albums :)
Yes! Really want to make this tutorial!
just a quick question how do I get something to print on both the back and front side of the paper, as to be able to have artwork on every single side
to be honest, it depends on your printer. Some printers have the ability to do it manually, you'd just need to press the option to print on both sides. However, certain printers don't have that feature, so you'd have to manually adjust each page.
sadly everytime i try to print it out on the a4 sheet of paper it shrinks when i transfer it on the psd a4 template but then when i print it its so damn small..
You rock
Thank you!
what measurements i should use for the booklet in case i wanna print it from another app like word
its 12 cm x 24 cm
Hey, I have a question do you know any program alternatives from photoshop to do this, I don't have photoshop 😅
a programm called photopea, its online
Heyy, I really need help asap! How do you print the pages double sided?
When you are on the printer settings, theres always a double sided box that you can check and the printer will do that automatically.
do you have to print directly through photoshop? printed a png of the a4 size and it came out too small.
No, not really. I actually prefer save the file (the image in the A4 size) as a high resolution jpg, and then print it from the printing feature on my laptop.
Are you able to use a regular printer on that kind of paper?
Yes, you just need to buy it accordingly to the ink your printer use.
Does the booklet template fit for any jewel cases sizes no matter where I buy them from?
yes, it fits any jewel cases
did you use a certain printer to make the paper laminate and glossy?
I print on a local printer center, they have an epson printer. My local printer center is able to print in magazine-type-paper which makes it look really shiny, while also being thin and malleable. What kind of paper do you use for these? Regular paper isn't as shiny!

If I drawing in Illustrator and then bring it to your .psd file, should I set the document color in CMYK or RGB? Thank you.
RBG, it would have the true color, in my experience.
how did you place the second page? does it just go on top of the first layer you did?
yes, and save the files separate
what type of paper should I print it on? regular paper makes it look fake and not shiny!
A4 glossy paper
And yet you did say something on the intro😁👌🏼
That was the idea 😅
Hey what measurements should I use for the inside tray
15 cm width x 11.7 cm height
in case of using normal paper in the cd label, is there any problem when reproducing it?
I've used this method before and I have had no troubles with the label giving me issues. I had one project where the label came off but it was due to the type of glue I used. As long as you use a good quality glue, it should work with no issues.
hi I would like to ask what kind of paper you are using?thanks

I recently purchased Pink Floyd’s 1979 Classic Album on CD but it’s the Remastered Double CD Album. But it didn’t come in a Classic Jewel Case but it came in a CHEAP Cardboard Trifold Sleeve. The CD’s keep falling out of the sleeves. So My question is : How can I make both the Front Album Cover using the Original Album cover, side, and Back Cover where the songs are listed so I can then install that into a Jewel Case???
I'd suggest scanning the original packaging and using it to create the new pieces. I actually have done this multiple times.
If you got this figured out, please let me know! I use GIMP instead of Photoshop, but am trying to accomplish the same with Pink Floyd's recent 2016 CD reissues--they all come in those terrible card sleeves.
can you please tell me what paper are you using? thanks
It's called "Semi-Gloss Bond Paper"
do you use a special paper or just normal?
Yes, I use Gloss Text paper, it is similar to the ones used in magazines
is it supposed to automatically print front and back, because mine didn't even though I clicked two sided printing
no, you have to configure it to print on both sides
i have a question, when i print the back cover, it comes out way smaller then it is supposed to. would you know why?
It might have to do with either the type of file you decided to save it, it usually happens when you save it as png or the printing settings need to be adjusted to "print in real size"
I’m completely without skills to make a cd sleeve for a jewel case. Was wondering if you could do. I only need 15. Let me know. JC
What version should i use for Photoshop
I used CS6 for the longest of time and it was my favorite version. If I could go back to it, I would haha At the moment I use CC2019, and it still works great
One thing more, How did you get your Bar Code.
I just got a random bar code from google
may i ask what type of paper was used for the booklet?
