    • New englander homer and Pats fan here… I’m worried about this pick. He’s missing 10-15 yard throws against air!!?? 😓👎👎. Something is missing with this guy. You can’t draft this QB with WR1 & WR2 still on the board. We should’ve drafted Malik Nabers… Drake Maye is a project. I’d rather invest that time in a QB further down the draft board than miss out on guaranteed playmakers. Give me Joe Milton in the 3rd or 4th Rd instead.

Drake Maye 24 passing tds, 3600 yds, 9 ints, 9 rushing tds 76 qbr in the ACC. So your comparing pro days? While the actual game stats are in favor of Daniel's. One of the lowest accuracy’s last year ( ranked 59th in QBs with over 100 throws) and 56% accuracy against ranked teams. He’s also the ONLY QB in the DRAFT CLASS to decrease in QBR and completion %, yet increase in INTs every year he’s played. Not worth a Day 1 pick but I’m no scout, they can draft this bust.

  • What got me was how after the last two seasons he was the consensus 2nd QB off the board, possibly first. Now, nothing has changed, he’s dropped to third or maybe fourth. It was accepted that UNC had a difficult season, there was little depth at WR and the OL play wasn’t great and this affected Maye output. That’s on the coaches and recruiting but Maye is the one that is getting hurt by that. He is a talented kid, he has all the tools and you could see he wanted to work on the missed throws. But equally no QB in the NFL is perfect every game and hits every throw, so he shouldn’t have to be at the pro day either.

  • His arm is live. Gets the ball out on intermediate routes with some pop. I don’t like his deep throw style because they look like moonballs. Some of his misses were pretty wild though, and it seemed like mechanical issues that cause some variance in delivery. So he might throw five out routes to the same location, and each throw is a yard away from the other.

    @Narikvp@NarikvpАй бұрын
  • I've done a little scouting. I played some ball and even coached some ball and taught a couple of good QBs how to throw. Everyone thinks they know how to throw and worse thinks they know how everyone SHOULD throw. Different bodies different motions. No two are the same. All you can do is improve on whatever talent they already have. Refine their skills so to speak. But by the time you get to the Pros your Motion should be set in stone. Sure they can work on your footwork, but they ain't messing with your motion unless you've got a hitch ala Tim Tebow or a big wind-up like Brian Leftwich. Mainly all of that should be worked out already. But your release? That ain't being taught at this point. If you've got a slow motion and a slow release you're a back up at best. You're going to get picked a lot, sacked a lot, benched a lot.... And Retired early.

He doesn't have as exaggerated of a throwing motion, but he could definitely benefit from an O-Line that can give him an extra half second to account for his wind-up. • Some of this man’s passes were into the stratosphere… that is an issue and when he’s off he’s OFF… however he’s 21yo and has a lot of room to grow. I’d hate to see him play immediately but he’s legit top 3-5 QB potential if he hits. And that’s what makes it hard to pass. Cold nasty Weather won’t limit him either.
