LYRICS:
War and Peace (zhàn zhēng yǔ hé píng)
Original Language: Chinese
Who first believed whom?
Who first embraced whom?
Contempt splits apart a million strands of hope and faith
Thus is the reason love remains such a distance away
Ah, war and peace
Ah, hatred and mercy
How much sorrow can a heart bear
How might solace be brought to humanity?
On the two sides of the celestial scale
In between ice and fire
Good and evil constantly at war with the world
The final answer is within a single moment
Ah, war and peace
Ah, misunderstanding and comprehension
Tears crystalize into fossils in time
Who still remembers the intricacies of love and hate
(x2)
How much sorrow can a heart bear
How might solace be brought to humanity

  • Yes maybe he won't make money from his humanitarianism, but it's one of the reasons we his fans love him so much. This song is one of my favourite Dimash works, it's so original and epic in style, the music matches the seriousness of the message.. His high singing in airy tone in this case I believe is meant to express that the message is coming from young people, for the sake of our children.. Wonderful, Dimash at his best I could watch and listen forever! Thanks for your sensitive reactions..

    • And by the way, I think it's worth listening and watching the original performance in China, a much younger Dimash in amazing costume and style almost space age! The sound is not as good and some have suggested lipsynch, but it's clear to me there's post-production stuff.. The epicness of the song comes thru, and I think Dimash has, brought it back into his current repertoire because fans just love it..

      @Treefellow1@Treefellow13 жыл бұрын
    • @@Treefellow1 I think you're referring to the War & Peace fancam video from Fuzhou. The reason why it looks lipsynced is because the audio has been edited in post, for some reason they put the studio version behind it. If you watch the full concert you'll see that it's different, much better imo!

  • Dear Elizabeth, sometimes I really wonder how I was able to live without Dimash's music. It gives so much to me. It is incredible. War and Peace is one of his songs I bought on iTunes after his ID album went online. I really love this song very much, knowing he wrote the melody, so he owns this one a little bit more than others, I guess. It maybe comes a little bit deeper out if his heart. I have a soft spot for oriental melismas. For me they show such a pure longing (when I was a teenager I couldn't get enough of Ofra Haza). It is so fascinating how Dimash gave the Mandarin lyrics this more "arabic(?)" touch, although the style of the song is very modern and "western". For me it is a perfect combination because his message, his call, his praying for unity is something for ALL of us. Lots of love from Switzerland Be save!

  • Are you kidding? He'll be performing at the inauguration? That would be amazing. Dimash's fan base will probably increase massively, considering how many people will be watching that. He has so many good songs and they're so diverse, it's always a pleasure to listen to him. He just oozes quality.

  • Dimash composed this song and had the lyrics translated to Chinese when he sang it in China! That’s why he sings it the way he meant when he wrote the song. He is perfect showing the different types of feelings that he is portraying in this song. Thanks for the reaction! 🇰🇿🇰🇿💙🇰🇿🇰🇿
