I always love how the driver who caused the accident, but was not involved, gets to drive off like nothing has happened.
Friend of mine once said he “clipped” a bicyclist and that he panicked and ran. Turns out that “clip” took his mirror off (on a pedestrian mind you) and he left it at the scene while the cyclist went to the ER. He was 17 at the time and he got off with a revoked license and for some reason the cyclist didn’t press charges in court, he just wanted the case over with. We all knew he was a reckless driver and idiot teenager 🙄😒should have gotten jail time.

hilarious you are all terrible drivers. when the car in front of you is stopped it does not matter how, why, when, where; in the U.S. you have to stop an cannot hit them. You always have to maintain stopping distance in the U.S. It is always the fault of the rear-ender in the U.S.; only in very rare cases of obvious fraud is this not true...the "kid" and driver of the first car did nothing wrong. I can stop anywhere in the U.S. and let someone out of my vehicle with no expectation of being rear-ended etc.

Cars are engineered to crumple like that for safety reasons. If the material breaks down it doesn't transfer the full impact to the driver and passengers.

Then the driver of the car with the camera stops the tow truck that caused the accident. And then the driver of that car can be overheard telling the tow truck driver "you fucking hit that car!" I wish they would all get caught and have the book thrown at them. In my state(Massachusetts) just this year there have been more people killed by hit and run drivers, it breaks my heart.

There was a case like that near me a couple of years ago, but one of the drivers who were involved in the subsequent pileup was killed in the collision. No excuse to rear end the car behind the drop off. Who managed to stop in time, by the way. If you can't stop in time when someone stops abruptly ahead of you, you are following too closely. Period. If you look a little closer, there is ramp going up to what looks like a rail platform. But even if it's not, the bmw had a car length behind the Honda ans was able to stop. No reason at all that the cammer couldn't stop. Criminal? No chance. "Careless" (as some states call it)? Maybe. Still no excuse.

You dont drive on an inside lane unless you know that exact turn and its one with a larger than normal turn radius for the inside lane (there are a few like that in my area, it doesn't look like this is one of them based on where the stop lines are for traffic on the left of the turn) but even then, you don't fucking enter the intersection next to another truck and straddle the line like a complete buffoon and not expect to have your hood ripped off.

I was thinking exactly the same thing (and I'm a Tesla owner). Looks to me like autopilot braked as a precaution (unnecessarily) and that surprised the other guy triggering the accident. Still note also how the Tesla took automatic action to then move out of the way as the car nearly side swiped him and avoided a collision 😎

One thing is certain. Regardless of the vehicle, the type of collision or any of the other variables involved, the most dependable system in a motor vehicle is its windshield wipers. Nearly every accident you see whether sunny or rainy what ever the case may be somehow the windshield wipers turn themselves on and keep going long after the car has expired.

Hopefully that driver shared his dash cam footage. Normally, the turning car would be at fault and get a failure to yield ticket. But the aggressive acceleration in the footage would prove otherwise thankfully

Could of also been in a Straight truck which if it isn't rated over 26,000 lbs don't need a cdl. Trust me i've had my share pull that crap next to me.

I live right outside Raleigh NC and I gotta say this area continues to get worse and worse as years go on with drivers. Just like you say in your comment, nobody ever looks! They also are always on their phones, driving excessively fast, tailgating super close, and failing to signal all the time.
