I have a Prusa Mini+ and down below how you do step by step: Step 1: Download Prusa Slicer 2.3.0 (the current version, always keep it up to date when a new version arrives). Step 2: Download a stl.-file online on a website such as Thingiverse, Cults, MyMiniFactory, YouMagine, Pinshape) Step 3: Open Prusaslicer, Select your printer. In the tab menu choose Plater. Then just drag the stl.-file onto the print sheet in Slicer and your model will show up. Then choose your desired print settings and then click Export G-code. Step 4: Load the file to the USB-stick from the computer. Step 5: Plug in the USB-stick in the USB-slot on the printer. You will be able to choose the model on the screen on the printer and print it out. I hope that helps! There are numerous videos about how the slicer program works.

Completely new to 3d printing and I am considering the Prusa Mini Plus. Very informative video thanks. I also watched your video about the Ender 3 v2 which you did in Jan and you also recommended it for beginners. Which one would you recommend? The Prusa Mini Plus has a small print area and possibly more expensive than the Ender but i get the feeling that you had less issues out of the box with the Prusa than with the Ender. Would that be correct? Thanks again
Just be aware that the Prusa printers are not magical. They supposedly have very good QC, but there are always outliers. I’d like to share my experience. I got the Ender 3 Pro for $100 on sale at Microcenter about a month ago. I got it to learn about 3D printing since my son was getting a Prusa Mini+ from Santa (he didn’t know what model; he just wanted a 3D printer). The Ender 3 has been printing great. The Prusa “experience”’not so great. Long story short, I ordered the preassembled Prusa Mini+ with the filament sensor for about $470 shipped. I got really busy and couldn’t unbox the Prusa to set it up until Christmas Eve. Sadly, the extruder gears were jammed/gummed up from the factory. “24/7 support”was closed, so I had to abandon the Prusa and give my son the Ender 3 (luckily he hadn’t seen it since I’ve been using it when he’s at my ex-wife’s and hiding it when he’s home). There’s no point in taking apart the extruder and cleaning the gear/pulley since Christmas is already over. I got a return authorization for the Prusa, but I’m going to be out shipping costs (about $50) and will only getting about a $420 refund.
I bought an Ender 3 V2 last year, in retrospect, I should have spent the extra money and bought a Prusa Mini. Some people get great V2's out of the box, I did not. Poor quality control, warped bed, and so on. I put in a lot of time upgrading, and dialing, when I would have rather been printing. If you like to tinker as a hobby and have the free time, get the V2. If you want to print, get the Prusa. I'm considering adding a Mini as a second printer.
I am going to start using high temperature and high strength materials like Nylon and carbon fibre reinforced Nylon, I now have all my printers enclosed and will convert one to a volcano but am undecided on which direct drive to implement although the new BMG seems to have most of the features I am looking for so I will look for a review of both in operation to see how they get on with each other.
On the Prusa Mini I guess, right? I am looking in to the Hemera and BIQU H2. Both seem promising. The Hemera already supports 285°C printing in the stock configuration and is upgradable to the Vulcano
@@Crosslink3D No, I have an Ender 2, I did mention it but I think I deleted that part from my previous comment by mistake, the print quality is awesome on my Ender 2, but I think a pancake stepper is going to be the best option for direct drive extrusion as I don't want too much weight on that gantry, maybe I can 3D print some of the parts for the upgrade to reduce the weight to the absolute minimum.

If you have problems with it consider buying Bondtech Extruder upgrade for the Mini and a new heatbreak. My machine had problems with the extruder and now it is solved and prints much better.
Does it print Polycarbonate??? Isn’t that the strongest plastic a printer can print?

Which filament do you recommend to use with the MINI+? Have you tried filaments other than the Prusa brand?
I‘ve tried all kinds of brands but the most important change I made was the upgrade to the Bondtech IFS. Since then I had no issues whatsoever. Before I had some issues with underextrusion due to the fact that the mini does not have a dual gear extruder by default.

I would like to buy a Prusa Mini+ but I have a Creality Ender 2 that I would like to upgrade the hot-end and extruder to Prusa parts and maybe the same ABL, the Ender 2 print quality is outstanding and I would put it up against a Mini+ anytime
I for some strange reason brought a kingroon kp3s... And I feel I really should have got a prusamini clone. Money isn't even a problem I just totally forgot it existed
Can You tell me why the shipping time for a pre assemble mini is a few weeks whereas the shipping time for the kit is 6 months?

I suspect that Prusa is focusing on/prioritizing building assembled models to fill their orders rather than putting staff on the task of collecting the parts necessary for the kit version. Once they get caught up on shipping the assembled ones the kit ship time will shorten to something closer to the assembled time. There may also be some component stock shortages happening due to the recent SNAFU in the Suez Canal and they are reluctant to put steppers and fans into Kits only to have to retrieve them to put them into assembled units.
@@Russwig Interesting but we can rule out the Suez debacle because my boy ordered his back in January before the incident occurred. I can also assume it is quicker to pack a selection of parts than it is to build a printer and then pack it. The cynic in me is saying PRUSA do to "encourage" people to buy the completed printer at a higher cost.
I am completely new to 3DP and I bought a Mini+. It has worked Pretty well so far. It did take a bit of fiddling to get the first layer correct (had to adjust the Super PINDA to get in the correct range) but I was able to do that after reading other's experiences on the PRUSA forums. One problem that remains is slight warping of every print in the front left corner. All I have used so far is PLA so heat should not be an issue however it feels to me that the cooling of the extruded filament is the problem. The fan only puts air down on the rear or back of the print area leading me to suspect this as the cause of the warping. I have looked for a modification I could apply but so far all I find are ones that also use different hot ends but I don't want to modify to that extent. I am not squeamish about modifications, just didn't think I'd have to do such a mod or design such a fix with a Prusa out of the box.

@@Crosslink3D What I have found are mods for the original Mini that have been fitted with a Mosquito hotend (www.prusaprinters.org/prints/37368-prusa-mini-mosquito-fan-shroud). Nothing that captures the air flow from the existing Mini+ duct and spreads it around the nozzle but if I find or design something I'll let you know. I do think the Mini+ is a good first printer and Prusa does have excellent and very accessible support. I do not regret my purchase.

Well, it’s not a China printer, so it’s naturally more expensive. Labor costs in Europe are a lot higher.

I laught a lot. Are you a Apple- or Windows-person... So true I'am a Windows and Linux-Person in all ways. I've Bought a Ender 3 V2 half a year ago. Three weeks ago a friend at work ask me for 3D Printer for him. He is a Apple-person. I tell him to buy a Prusa MK3. I am happy to learn some printphysics, firmwaretweaks and develop a runoutsensor. He he is happy to print things. So we have both the right printer.

I got 3 Prusa Mini's bought at once... I really really regret buying them... they are such trash... a rushed product skew issues like mad MINDA probes died on all 3 of them. and 1 has a dead board already. They look really cool but this is only meant for fun prints that aren't required dimensions. even the force of pulling filament from a spool the Z axis bends...
I regret buying mine too. Constant clogs and jams. Had to upgrade the heatbrake and extruder. Print quality is garbage compared to a Creality machine. I"m selling my mini and getting a CR6 SE.
How something worth €419 could be named "Pretty affordable"?! Another paid review, what a shame...
Hmm, I would disagree and say affordable is relative and there is plenty of cheaper options out there, right? You don't have to buy this anyways. Buy what you think will suit you best.
