If nothing else, by 'helping along' a leopard towards perfecting the art of catching catfish, then that means less leopards to threaten either the elephant, or its kin. Better the catfish than the elephant.

Yeah, if the leopards get too hungry, they might pose a threat to the elephants. It does make you wonder if the elephant did that on purpose.

Incredible footage. It really seems like the elephant was guiding the leopard to his prey. And the way the closeup shows the muscles on the leopard puts his strength into perspective.
I don't think that was the elephant's intention, I think it was splaching mud on its body to keep his body cool against the heat.

While I'm aware that wild animals aren't exactly invulnerable to disease, It's still astonishing how they're still most likely okay eating a meal riddled with mud.
Mud are clean compare to the common food of the wild which is corpse, If they can digest corpse mud will do nothing.

What a way for those catfish to die... A slow evaporation of the water, it gets totally smaller and then you have to start breathing water with mud in it... until it's almost all mud... and then being picked off by all the predators around... A super slow horrible death! Nature is vicious!
Robert C. Christian catfish can survive on extreme condition though
the water eventually returns though, and most of the catfish survive surprisingly.

It is much easier to sense movement than to identify static shapes/things. That's one of the reasons why many species "play dead" when a predator is around: they have a much better chance of not being detected if they don't move.
