The shot of the little bird barely getting away was incredible
@repentandbelieveinJesusChrist1 That young bird 'repented' at the last minute lol.
@repentandbelieveinJesusChrist1 what if someone believe in other Gods?
The time comes when the grouper realizes there is a guy in the water filming, who can't fly
God people...can't you control yourselves? 🤨🤣
@@glennsohm6643 Unfortunately, no. :(
David's unequalled narration, the pulse-pounding music, the mesmerizing slow-motion sequences and storyline. This is one of the best nature videos I've ever seen!

2:46 is an insane shot! Catching both fish and bird in the same scene like this must haven taken countless of takes!
And endless patience…
It must've been incredible watching all of this unfold in person. The amount of times it had to have happened for them to know where to look to get the shot must've been awesome.
The beautiful & dark side of Nature... That last scene where that young bird saved himself after parents push is epic... Emotional music with a lot of suspense and no competition to narration of sir David Attenborough...also superb work by the camera man
Nature has a way of showcasing both the beautiful and dark sides of life. In the scene you mentioned, the young bird's survival after being pushed by its parents was truly remarkable. The emotional music and suspenseful atmosphere created an unforgettable moment that was enhanced by Sir David Attenborough's narration. The camera work was also superb, capturing every detail of this incredible event. It's a reminder of the complexities and wonders of nature that are constantly unfolding before us.
Never knew fish could do that too. Always through birds were the ones who prey on fish. The cycle of nature is astonishing!
Fishes fly too
@@tahabashir9405 *fish* - and they only "fly" like chickens, merely floating in the air for a few seconds.
Ever see big bass take out a duckling?
Nature is beautiful
I was hoping I wasn't the only person who didn't know about this 😅
I love how the adults are shouting at the fledgeling as if to say "Get out of the water!!!"
Yes. But it's not 'as if to say', that's exactly what they are saying!!
Magikarp use splash!
5:01 I love the way the other birds are just telling that birdie something like (don't cross the road when the driving signal is green) They are as social as us
Absolutely stunning, the camerawork and editing is insane but that fish is truly incredible. Seeing it hunt down that bird while it was flying was a piece of art, dark yet jaw-dropping.
The fish is terrifying! The last jump almost like a trick
This fish is so ghoulish looking it manages to make sharks seem quite cute.
L@@BirdWorldtv8795
I cannot even imagine the amount of time and patience it must of took to get all those amazing shots. David has an amazing gift of story telling along with insightful narration. That is unequaled and keep me captivated. As well as this amazing fish that follows flying birds while underwater! Who would have thought that at least along this portion of ocean the role of predator and prey is reversed.
Yes, but it's not as good as your score for E.T.

I remember when this first aired i loved every minute of it. The amount of work and time that has gone into capturing all of this magnificent footage and then piecing it all together is just next level commitment.
That video is 10 years old? Now the BBC is claiming it as their own?
@@Oscarcat2212 From what i read - Blue Planet 2 took 12 years to complete. So this being 10yrs old could be footage from that timeline, i wouldn't put it past them. Plus i think they pay for captured footage from armature folks like you and i.

The fish's ability is insane, but you should never underestimate birds! Our crew got on camera another "super fish" that may not look that special, but it's a super-intelligent fish. The footage we got proved to us that the archerfish is a genius in math and physics. They make complex calculations about light refracting in water before shooting down prey with fast water jets. Even at 2 meters away, it's quite exciting to see it!
Archer fish right?
No, sorry. Better luck next time.
I invested my money with archerfish, now my returns are thru the roof. How can everyone get in contact with archerfish? Lol
@@yep-sb4uf😂
Fish brains are closer to analog computers than digital computers. In WW2 we used simple analog computers for the same thing that these fish do, ballistic trajectories. Prior to microchips we had to do these things without doing lots of complex calculations.
That Last moment where the amateur bird trying to get out of the danger zone and escaped by a secs is truly amazing and indeed myself too happy after holding a breath 🫁😇😇
The moment where the amateur bird narrowly escaped danger was truly amazing and had many viewers on the edge of their seats. It's a testament to how unpredictable and exciting nature can be. The fact that many viewers held their breath while watching this scene shows just how emotionally invested we can become in these moments. It's moments like these that remind us of the fragility and resilience of life, and how every moment counts
@@3winmundoanimal very true and well said 😇😇
The music makes this documentary like an award winning movie.
Particularly liked the part where the bird seemed to stomp when preparing to take off...the cinematic drums there were on point.

Man you know that fish was salty of that bird getting away like that. lol
The way the baby could escape with a minutest of moments is cinematic.
"If they have to survive, they have to learn quickly".. So true.
Most of us do not know how fortunate we been with david attenborough as commentator over the decades.... i hope he live a long time still :)
Masters of the water, masters of the air and a master of photography. I absolutely love nature and to see it through these lenses is a delight. The Creator is great

Esp the subtitles. I learned that fangtooths are the midnight zone's most voracious fish. 👍🏼
What a wonderful capture🥰🥰 and beautifully narrated by Sir David.
That last footage was insane🥹
The drama captured in these videos is incredible. The part where the mother bird seems to scream at her baby bird, "GET OUT OF THE WATER!"
Amazing how the the Trevalee does a complete back flip and pirouette in the air before entering the water again on its back! Reminiscent of the Fosbury flop technique used in high jumping.
Closed captions are from a different clip talking about the deep ocean
Yea about jellyfish
Fish and birds are two very different creatures that have unique adaptations to their environments. Fish are adapted to life underwater, with streamlined bodies and fins for swimming, while birds are adapted for flying with lightweight but strong bones and feathers. Each has its own set of advantages depending on the environment they live in. It's not a matter of which is better, but rather which is better suited for their respective habitats.
i am 12 and this is deep
The last shot was impeccable, it showed the humanity in film making. Life and death happens so frequently in nature, and to see the fish almost fall to the water after their failed attempt, almost as if it was person slamming to the ground. Simply wonderful film making!
HOW MUCH HARD WORK THEY DO FOR THIS.... HATSOFF TO THE TEAM... 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
BBC earth never disappoint with David sir voice. What a legend and what a video
5:15 this scene is just 🔥
"Whatcha doin?" "Fish'n" Whatcha use'n fer bait?" "Birds".
“If they are to survive they must learn quickly”
Wrong subtitles, please fix it.
It's so weird to think of fish eating birds haha. Also those fish are so powerful. The get ao high fully out of the water is nuts
I remember doing this as a kid. Man rites of passage used to be crazy.
I am sure the film crew must have spent a lot of time to capture such amazing footage; the moment at 3:33 when the fish leaps out of the water and catches the bird is truly a rare sight, and that slow-motion shot is absolutely fantastic 😍
To those birds, the fish are absolute monsters. To us, the fish looks like a nice dinner 🍽😋😅
It is amazing that I don't remember the scene while rewatching it but remember the sentence David's saying " fish has a brain capable of calculating the air speed...". David Attenborough is amazingly successful at his job.
5:23 now THAT is a money shot... wow amazing!
Great work by everyone in making of this video, special thanks to camera men 👍

This fish is INSANE! 🐟
Man..... The voice, the action itself and the music... chilling...
Incredible footage & great short documentary to watch for free, BBC Earth showing us other side of Earth which we could never see in our life.
At 5:25, that slowed down shot is phenomenal! Well done.
The underwater ballet of fish and the graceful flights of birds - it's like a duel between two extraordinary worlds! Nature truly knows how to showcase its diverse talents.
They piece together various filming for drama...that wasnt the young bird escaping, different clip. But never less the footage these guys get is incredible. Giant Jack Trevally are insane predators, hardest fighting fish ever. Look up film of them hunting in packs where explode shallow beaches
Thank you for bringing that to my attention. It's true that sometimes filmmakers use different clips to create a more dramatic effect, and it's important to recognize when that's the case. Nonetheless, the footage they capture is still incredible and provides us with a window into the natural world that we wouldn't otherwise have. The hunting behavior of giant Trevally is indeed remarkable, and seeing them in action can be both awe-inspiring and humbling.
I like how their friends seem to warn him but she doesn't care for couple of time
The last final push was the best ever scene of my life.
Excellent footage, but the closed captioning for the entire video flashed for a fraction of a second near the beginning of the clip, instead of being spread out over the length of the video and actually describing/corresponding to what was going on.
Fish: "If only I could fly..." 🦅 Bird: "If only I could swim..." 🐟

Ouh my God... incredible for the technical and angel Cameramen!!!!! 4K slowmo Perfect!!
The shot at 5:26 on, is just great footage, I'll bet it looks amazing in 4k. Great camerawork and story BBC. Oh and, shouldn't the 'training' ground be somewhere that you DON'T die if you make a mistake?? 😄
This is really amazing the story of these birds. Actually for them this is very important to learn quickly to fly. Also this is a sad story for those who fail to survive. In that moment I become breathless when the bird tries to fly to survive and get victory.
I was like oh c'mon to the last 🐦, finally it made it. Hats off photographer ☺️
As you see, some birds give warning to a new one, that is so much amazing
the foley work/sound fx is always top notch
Extremely happy with our video! Impressive camera work, best editing and very good narration. Meaningful content. Best of luck all the team, well-done.

This is very amazing footage. We can seethe amateur bird's mother's efforts to takeoff her kids from danger.
Everything about this video is mind-boggling stuff.
I like this video bcz it's one of the favourite topic. It is the fear of the birds when they start flying that helps them to fly boldly to the heights.
I had a 'Tuna Treat' pizza while watching this. ....

The way the trevally can open it's mouth is astonishing. . .
Amazing God and creation. But the idea that the fish have the brains to calculate things … it made me chuckle 😂
Incredible moments of 🌎 ❤
The little chick was oblivious to the danger until its parent alerted it of what’s lurking below. It’s only luck that it barely escaped the fish’s jaws. You can bet that it became a good flier very quickly and made every effort to stay in the air after that harrowing experience 😅
Wow. I had no idea some fish could do this. Beautiful nature video. I miss these wonderfully narrated shows.
THE TECH .. CAM VISION PRODUCTION AND LEADERSHIP TEAM OF BBC...PREVAILS FANTABULOUS..
use to see birds like over the pacific, hundreds of miles from shore. I question if they sleep in the water or perform like a week long flight without sleep.

شكرا لكم bbc earth سبحانك ياخالق الخلق
I've seen this kind of thing happen at the lake where I live. There was this tiny lone duckling out in the deep water, calling for its mom. No idea how it got seperated. It swam around calling, until suddenly it started moving frantically, and screaming louder. After several seconds of this, it disappeared, presumably eaten by a large fish.
3:15 😂😂i can't believe that the camera has recorded the sound of attack..
It hasn't. Those are sound effects added in post production. You can look at the behind the scenes of these nature documentaries, they almost never record sound at the same time as video. They just collect a lot of sound samples that are later matched together with clips in editing. The main reason is distance. Most cool shots are recorded from too far away to also record sound.
