My Dad's e46 m3 gets a suspension upgrade and he has a noise from the rear. While I'm attempting to fix it, an accidental fire started!

My son is 14, he has been in the garage with me from the moment we pulled in from the hospital. Because of my father's love for German cars I also had a soft spot for them. My son has been building and riding everything with a steering wheel and a motor. I have a 2 E90s and my 06330 will be his real first car. We have worked on that car more then any other car I own but I am going to force him to buy a crap little car for the first few months so he understands when I do give him that car it's his responsibility for all repairs and maintenance. No more dad's money to spend at the end of the day. I am glad you still have your father in this world, Watching my son become a young man is the greatest part of my life, and I can't wait to see him chase his dreams as an adult. I am sure your father feels the same way and he raised a damn fine son that is not only entertaining others in the world in a positive manner but he is also teaching them. We need more young men like you. Thanks for the content.
That's awesome! Thanks for sharing, sounds like you're raising your son right!
Great video!!! When in doubt, fire out 🔥
Thanks dude! 🔥 🚫
Out of joke, fire is not something to play with. as public figure. Safety First. Fire can cause big damage
Awesome video, im not a fan of KW with a single adjustment where the ride height also dictates travel, more a fan of 3 ring coilovers. You got the coolest dad around cruising in an M3 though lol.
Totally agree
Dad & son m3 great combo ❤ going for a weekend drive would be awesome
It really is!
Good update keep it up the good work 👍👍👍
Amazing work! I been working at an indy shop for 6 yeats but man i need a find a shop like yours!
Love the E46s ❤❤❤
Trying to get my motivation up to get my LSD installed in my turbo E46 😂
Perhaps too much positivity when he's just laughing at the fire instead of putting it out 😅lmao. Glad it didn't turn into a bad day.
Good point! 😅
AWESOME Jamie!! Thanks for sharing!!
My pleasure!!
does bmw not have a pinion preload to set? Great to see these long form videos rolling out, make sure you have the kiddo film some videos at the other shop too!
It does have a preload, I couldn’t tell you what it is, I can’t remember. I shot this video like 6 months ago. It has a crush sleeve that I decided not to include in the video. If it’s too tight, the diff comes back apart so you only get 1 shot!
@@JamiesGarage1 Ah ok, thanks for the reply man, cant wait for future vids
😂😂 Jamie “your just laughing dude grab a fire extinguisher 😅 Joey “that was exciting”! I can’t lol!!! This was the best!
I’m laughing now… but it was stressful at that time. 😂
good video , thanks
That 🔥 tho 😂. Rip Joeys shoes lmao
😂
i bet your dad will enjoy his new suspension
i missed your videos
😘
I rebuild diffs for BMWs, if you ever need help. Great channel.
Cool, thanks!! Appreciate it
How do you balance or set the springs so they're all even? I saw alignment, but is that like corner balancing?
We did a 4 wheel alignment not a corner balance
So Joe stands for Free Labor?💀 I need a Joe myself😂
As someone who makes bearings for a living, what bearings did you use for this repair?
I put a link for you in the description 👍
@JamiesGarage1 doesn't say who the bearing manufacturer was and I couldn't tell by looking at the picture. I highly doubt it was one our bearings. I don't ever recall us making a bearing for BMW.
Love the new video! 😄🔥
Thanks 🔥
Notification Squad!🔥🔥🔥
😂😂
60k miles and the pinion bearings are gone? Holy moly, I certainly hope those bearings in our two BMWs last a heckuva lot longer than that!!! Oh wait, they already have! If this M3 wasn’t thoroughly abused there’s no reason for a failure like that.
I don’t have an answer for it. I’ve been working on this car for 10 years. The previous owner is a customer of mine. It’s a Sunday driver car for him and he never beat on it. Idk 🤷♂️
@@JamiesGarage1 wow, makes you wonder if the bearings were preloaded correctly from the factory?
@@superspeeder Good question. This noise was first noticed around 60k miles
Jaime, was this just an elaborate plot to get revenge on your pops for the time he yelled at you for not holding the flashlight correctly? Tell the truth Jamie!!!😂😂😂😂
😂
I think I would have been much more interested in clicking on the video if the thumbnail was just what actually caught on fire instead of the fake fire. Then again, I’m here making this comment anyways… right?
How much you charge him.... lol
😂
60 k and needs new rod bearings??? Rich ppl!! 😂
It’s a recommended service for the BMW M3
@@JamiesGarage1I haven’t looked into it, but in your experience, what happens if they’re not changed? How long do they last without replacing?
@@jb91300e The bearings wear and will eventually cause the bearing to spin
