Rip EVS, we are great full you are gone
Soooo, which would you buy, the NEW Camry or Honda same year ??
@scottykilmer Please review the new Hyundai Elantra 2.0L gas 2021-2024. They have ivt transmission and atkinson engine. They changed things after issues.🎉
hybrid cars' batteries suffer the same danger as any other electric vehicle. I can show you many KZheadrs trying to save those batteries for conversions. Or, you just research about it. Scotty. Floods are no good to any car unless it is built as a boat like in the navy
I have a serious question, in my country there are no japanese cars dealerships, I love TOYOTA but Unfortunately I can't buy one, what car should I buy??
Nothing will kill the Toyota Camry.
They killed the gas version for 2025, its hybrid only now
ill take a fiat 200 over camry everyday
Poor quality and excessive price will kill it.
The lexus ES 350 OR ES 300 H will lol and the best part is there double the price of the camry too lol 😂🎉😅
That's just Scotty laying on the drama, as he is prone to do at times. 😅😅😅
As the owner of this particular honda accord that was reviewed I have to be honest and say I've never had more fun in a car while also being relatively economical. The Camry cheer leading reminds me of team AMD vs Team Intel. The truth is that both are probably fantastic cars and do the job well enough. After that it's simply a matter for personal preference.
That is what a lot of people are saying. I just want a simple car that doesn't have a lot of electronics that will cost you an arm and a leg to fix.
@@partain2000 well thats unfortunately just not a reasonable thing to want anymore since none are built that way.
@@partain2000 Me too, I hate all the worthless crap put in cars that nobody really needs, Its all about marketing, a month after you've bought the vehicle you realize most of these things you won't even use, Its all about the thrill of the sale, the latest thing to show and impress friends and family, this stuff costs a fortune to fix, that's why they sell you the extended warranty which ups the payment even more. I'm particularly curious how expensive the upkeep is 5-10 years from now. Expensive car to begin with so I imagine if something wears out it'll be expensive.
I have a 2019 Accord Hybrid, and it's fantastic. I've gotten as much as 55mpg on a long highway trip, with the air conditioner running the whole time. Love it !
do you reset the MPG's like i do?
I love my 23 accord hybrid touring 45.6 mpg normal driving. 1 year of ownership 0 maintenance cost
Camry gets 52mpg
If you can't get 130k miles out of a car that costs close to 50k, I wouldn't own it
Warranty + factory is 10 years 150k miles. Cost was 35k all in before financing costs. Seems like it fits your criteria
Don’t buy GM then !!
How did you arrive at 130? Why not a more common reference of 150?
That's all? $25k and 200k miles is my bottom line. $50k? Better be amazing!🤨
Oh no, Scotty please tell me the car industry is not shocked again
so shocked its on life support

This might be the last video we see from Scotty, again.
You guys all beat me to it 😂

Toyota's been building reliable turbos longer than anyones.
@@whowantstoknow8492they are.. a lot of main bearing failures on the tundras…
there are new oils that have come out to deal better with these engines. I think so anyway. Even Scotty has mentioned this before. especially if its toyota or honda it should be fine.
This looks like Honda's F1 technology and combined electric/gas usage is funneling down into production cars. It took them a few years to perfect the tech when they reentered F1 but now their power plant (Red Bull/Verstappen) is almost untouchable. Good on you Honda! I do need to preface this praise for Honda. Our last seven vehicles have been Hondas.
Nice
It crazy how e-motor's been used in F1 race cars years before the first prius.
F1 technology? Not in this one. Maybe the turbo 4
@@CarnutMM The reason for the F1 comment. Seems like this is the first hybrid that will allow power management based on need. If you want or need performance beyond the ecco mode, the system seems capable of combining electric and gas power to provide enhanced performance. If the system is a true combined use/on demand use, that is F1 flexibility. I don't know that other hybrids have offered that flexibility.
I’ve had over 20 Honda’s, all fantastic no problems
I would possibly save up to $800 a year in fuel, driving 9,000 miles per year, and probably loose half of the purchase price in five years. So in five years save maybe $3-4,000 and loose maybe $17,500. I'm a mechanic too, it's so inexpensive driving old vehicles. I wish I had a new car but I have never bought one because it doesn't make sense to waste money.
Most people drive 12-15000 miles a year.
I bought a 2018 Honda Accord Hybrid for 23,700 Out the door (sticker was 28XXX). sold it last year with 40k miles for 20k. Cheapest vehicle to own/maintain that I have ever had. Only got rid of it because I needed more room and ability to tow a car trailer.
Neither the Accord nor the Camry lose 50% of their value in 5 years.

Scotty was hating on hybrids not too long ago now he’s seen the light lol

For every anti hybrid video he had one for it.
He said other brand Hybrids specifically! Not Toyota or Hondas and I agree
He HATES full electrics, he has always had mostly good reports on hybrids....
the better of two evils
last week Scotty said Honda was now trash now its the best ? is the entire industry shocked ??
I agree with you. Scotty goes back-and-forth and pushes something that he said a few videos ago that's not a good car but now it is. He said in the past all these new vehicles have more things that can go wrong with them along with the cost of upkeep on these engines.
He’s definitely getting paid under the table.
I have a '24 CR-V Hybrid Sport Touring with the same hybrid system as this Accord and I routinely get 40 mpg on average (because it's much heavier than this Accord). The vehicle is super smooth and the hybrid system is seamless; even the regenerative braking feels natural. I'm very happy with it. My first "non-100% gasoline" vehicle ever. Charging an EV or plug-in hybrid is a pita. Filling up my CR-V takes a couple minutes and could go for 500+ miles and could go across the country without worrying about where to charge.
My sentiments exactly.I have the same CR-V you have, bought November last year. It checks all the boxes. I had been thinking about an all EV and glad I ducked that bullet. Couldn't be happier with Honda and the products they produce.
I have booth a 23 Camry V6 and 23Accord Hybrid. Camry looks better Accord is roomier, Camry V6 rocks Accord MPG is almost double, Camry is faster accord is quieter etc. etc. good and bad things on both. Camry 41k Accord 33.5 on my particular trims.

My car has 17,480 miles on it and it shows that I’ve gotten 51.4 miles per gallon. Love this car
Good mechanic advice from Scotty about a new Honda hybrid Accord! Thanks Scotty and the birds singing in the background made my day!😊
the problem is that Honda is pushing you into buying hybrids by not offering fully loaded models in gasoline only vehicle (Accord and Crv)
Most likely a global policy being implemented slowly.
The non "fully loaded" versions of everything are still air conditioned & power steering equipped with ABS & likely auto trans too, in my experience what more do you need? "Fully loaded" equates to paying many, many thousands for tinsel that won't be clawed back when the trade in time comes, depreciation is bad enough without throwing more into the furnace.
Get the hrv. Can get a exl with a k20
The new camrys are all hybrid also. No gas only option
Stop buying hondas lol at least for me im only buying older ones
Watched this video from the beginning to the end, still don't understand how the new Honda accord just killed the Camry. Maybe Scotty was saying the new 2024 Accord just killed the 2004 Camry?
The 2024 Accord puts the batteries inside the car for protection from road salt. Not like Toyota Camry that has the vehicle batteries outside of the vehicle that road salt can get to them and destroy them.
Good old Scotty and his flair for theatrics
He needs clicks
Car styling is a step back. I like my 2016 Accord Sport way better. Also, make an option for a strong 6-cylinder. Some of us don’t want hybrids and having to worry about replacing the battery after 10 years. These gas Accords can last 30+ years if taken care of.
Nobody wants to keep a car 30 years.
The trend is government will tell you what you will drive in near future…it wont be your choice! Zero emissions or bust…

Hey Honda, what’s with not having a spare tire? Every vehicle I’ve owned had a flat tire & not having one is a safety issue.
You are going to have to go to the dealer and order a full spare I keep one in the trunk of my Honda .If you are talking about the doughnut tire I would get rid of it .
A spare tire should be a standard safety feature.
Toyota has lost my business over a lack of a spare.
Thanks, Scotty ! The EX-L model is rated at 51 mpg and 44 due to 17 inch wheels rather than 19 inch on the Sport and Touring models.
Scotty you knocked it out of the park always glad when you cover the bases as to maintenance and how long a car will last. I told my wife on our last purchased NO TURBOS so with that said simplicity is good but that Honda Hybrid technology is very good, especially no plugging in and the battery away from the element. Thankyou I value your opinion so highly.
Sooo, just how did the Accord kill the Camry????? Seems to me they are about the same except the Camry hybrid (you do know the Camry comes as a hybrid?) doesn't use clutches that can wear out. As I remember the Camry gets better mileage at 51 or 52 MPG and has more HP from a larger engine. Uses an Atkinson engine and has AWD available. Camry has 10 years of warranty on the hybrid system (best hybrid system around, 20+ years) and battery with 100,000+ on the latter, FOR FREE!! And it has a spare tire!
You're right, was the Camry was even mentioned? Also rave reviews for the 25 Camry are coming out and I'm eager to see if Honda can push the lowest trim Accord Hybrid's MSRP below $30k like Toyota did. A key difference between the two (for my needs) is the extra 1.6cuft of trunk in the Accord. Which is - hmmmmm - roughly the size of a spare tire?
All Camry's now are hybrids only.
I absolutely love my 03 Accord EX. It’s a manual with a k24 and 5mt. Would love to have one of these! Saw a few in California and they look great.
Thank you for the video. Blessings to you.
Seems like a lot of complexity to go wrong to only get 44 mpg . Honda cvcc cars in the 70s could do get the same mpg with simplicity and reliability
Now Scotty is pushing Extended Warranties???? Damn Scotty, put down the blunt brother.
Hey Scotty I've been watching your videos for quite some time now love the content. I can't see myself purchasing a new car, I've been driving my 2000 Land Rover Discovery for the last 7 years and I'm pushing almost 300,000 trouble-free miles on it. Is there a possibility that I can have my engine and transmission the last up to 500,000 miles or even more?
Great information as always Scotty!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
One of the dumb trends today is to remove the spare tire. Now it is even on economic cars like Honda. I'm glad my Audi still comes with a spare tire.
Yea, weird, I’ve always needed a spare at some point in every vehicle I’ve owned.
Most cars in Japan comes without spare tire. They come with tyre repair kit that keeps it working until you get to a shop to puncture fix.
@@AbidAli-bo8sv that is the case today. Back in the older days, I had a full steely spare tire on my Corolla and on my Miata. Yes, a weight conscious sport car came with a spare tire!
Love the car but... There's no way I'm going to go into debt for a car anymore. Don't have that kind of disposable cash either.
I have the same engine in my UK Honda. They don't have a cvt gearbox. Its a software thing where the engine SOUNDS like it's changing gear but it's not. Only gear is when you get to , about, 50 and there is a direct coupling where the petrol engine can do all the work. Its an amazing system.
I disagree with the hybrid system you said, in fact, Honda's Hybrid system is one of the simplest hybrid systems in the market, they called it ECVT but it doesn't have the traditional belt-driven system as in the regular CVT, but just a clutch to control the electric motor or the engine itself to drive the wheels, act more like a direct-drive system rather than a CVT, simple is that.
Every car with a 4 cylinder and a turbo- blows balls. A V6 is where it's at.

Scotty, thanks for this review, I am getting one next week.
scotty is right on today, the new camry 2025 is only a hybrid with a cvt
For $2,700.00 if the engine it self blow's up that alone would cover the cost for the extended warranty.
There's no CVT transmission in the Accord hybrid because the big motor mostly drives the car. The only time the engine drives the car is at high speed. Everything else, like gear shifting or engine noise, is programmed.
Scotty can you do a video on how Modern Cars differ in maintenance than pre-2010 cars? Like how to jump start them, how the electronics differ, things to consider or worry about that are different to pre-2010 cars. Thanks

I believe it has an eCVT which is better than any automatic transmission by a country mile!
The auto manufacturer doesn’t warranty the tire. The tire company does that.
it was actually IAS, tire and wheel insurance. I bought both the extended warranty and tire and wheel because of the low profile tires. Already paying for itself in potholeachusetts.
Many newer cars are using a lighter tensioned set of piston rings as well, which, when coupled with turbocharging, increases oil burn and fuel/oil contamination.

Honda Hybrid accords and Hybrid CRVs don’t have transmissions. They call it an eCVT but they should go away from calling so. It gives the appearance that Honda hybrids have CVT type transmissions. It’s an electric motor that is propelling the car forward and backwards. The gas engine 😮drives the main axel only after the car is going about 60+ miles per hour. The engine is basically either charging the battery or spinning a generator that in turn supplies power to the electric motor.
You need to read more of a good articles on technology…but you are getting closer and closer…@@gizmotechk
@@gizmotechk Partly true: the base LX and EX models are conventional 1500cc turbo-charged engines with conventional CVTs, while the Sport, EX-L, Sport-L, and Touring are 2L Atkinson engines with "Series Hybrid" transmission (no CVT), meaning that the motor charges the battery and the battery with inverter drives the wheels via the motors. (That's what was happening in Scotty's demo ride). One of the motors acts as a generator in regen (decel) mode. Lastly, with the Honda series-hybrid configurations, there is a specific speed range where the engine locks to the wheels (no transmission, just a full 1:1 lock) for max economy. It's only a narrow range, because the Atkinson cycle engine is only efficient in a narrow range, but it's still good. I don't remember what the speed range is, off-hand, but if I remember correctly it's in the medium-high end cruise range. I have and love the Honda Clarity, which is the plug-in hybrid. Everything is the same as the regular hybrid except that the battery is bigger, knocking down the gas tank capacity to 7 gals, but giving you up to about 48 miles of electric range in warm weather. Obviously it has a charger built in, and obviously it can run as a regular hybrid, but it's a waste to do so, as the mileage you get in pure EV mode is insane if most of your travel is around town. In fact the computer actually runs the engine once in a while whether you ask it to or not, just to keep the bearings lubricated and prevent the gas from getting stale. The clarity also has a charge mode, where you can put a few miles back into the battery for driving the last few stop-and-start miles of a long interstate journey in full EV mode, where that mode really shines.

We had a C-Max hybrid for 4 years. It accelerated very well, did really well on fuel and we only put a set of tires on it plus the small battery. But I didn’t like the CVT transmission. We live in the mountains of Tennessee and it struggled
CVT is trash
The paddles on the steering wheel aren’t for shifting; they are for adjusting the regenerative braking.
They should make a station wagon version and offer a chrome and wood grain package. It would have looked good with a stand up hood ornament. I like the futuristic Pontiac style tail lights.
But Scotty! Doesn't this Accord have one of those hated CVTs?
EVs don’t have a transmission
Honda cvt are the most reliable.
All hybrids except the Tundra hybrid require a CVT. And Toyota’s eCVTs are good.
Look at a CVT tranny real close they are bulletproof unless you match it a stupid powerful engine.
@@Michael-yi4mc this isn't a pure EV
Well, the 2025 Camry is an all-new design. I was sold on the new Accord until I saw the new Camry.
Enjoy that cvt 🤮
I think that's not a Japanese Camry.
@@nickt6980 Accord hybrid has cvt also
@@Drg24800 no
@@nickt6980 Yeah, I'm not happy about the CVT. But almost every car has one these days.
6:02 guy walking behind him while he talked about his car 😂
Just got the Sport L in Urban Grey and I love it 🧬🔥
Stick with the 2.5L 8 speed camry. You only break even on the hybrid at 100k miles. It makes no sense with the extra trouble they can bring.
I agree. Also they are pushing the I4 turbo engine now. The V6 will last 200-300,000 miles. A turbo engine will last 100-150,000 miles. The gov. is pushing improved mpg, but no savings in the long run when they last half as long. Not better for the environment either.
Can you still drive a hybrid car (generally) with a useless hybrid battery? Do you have to replace it, or throw the car away?
Im thinking about getting one of these and having the best car guy on youtube endorse it makes it really tempting! I'll make sure to get the extended warrenty but that probably wont stop them from calling everday 😂
How much will the batteries cost?
Honda batteries last hundreds of thousands of miles
@@ishkaranbrar313 good. Great if they really do that well in the variable climate in the US.
I still wouldn't get the extended warranty. I purchased a 2019 honda civic...bought the top of the line warranty, supposedly bumper to bumper..... After about 6 months the car would randomly refuse to start. They replaced the battery the first time. Went about 3 months with no issues, then all of a sudden the car refused to start again. The second time they told me they could not find the issue. The service manager literally told me "this is embarrassing but no components are testing as bad but your car randomly doesn't start sometimes.....I can't replace any components under your warranty.... all we can do is bring it back in if the issue happens again".... It does happen again....this time at my job which is an hour away from home. The free tow service from Honda got lost and took almost 3 hours to get to me but eventually I have my car towed and luckily there is a dealership minutes from my job... but the personnel for the service dept are gone for the day. ... the salesman from the other side are still there, I ask them If I could get a courtesy ride back home or even a courtesy vehicle while the car is worked on. They basically laughed at me and told me to kick rocks... "that has to go through the service dept". I had to pay for an uber out of pocket and had no vehicle for the next several days. I ended up trading the car in at a toyota dealership and got a Prius. I will never, ever pay for an extended warranty again.
Dealership will try very hard not to fix your vehicle under warranty...Even when they know there is an issue..
Hey Scotty I have a 2011 acura mdx with 204k miles on it. I'm the original owner but I've notice that every once in a while when I driving all my safety features turn off but when I turn my car off then on its fine is this something I need to take to a mechanic or let it me
It has no transmission. Very well engineered . The gas engine is very refined and quiet. Sport models have a firm but complaints ride. Great car for the money
Honda’s hybrid aren’t bad, just sad the other option is the 1.5 turbo engine (in both CR-V and Accord) Also they are more reliable than the Toyota rav4 and its famous garbage cable (both prime and normal hybrid versions)
I had a late model Accord. Rode hard, little tech. Never again. Now I drive a new Lexus ES 350
My Honda CRZ is almost 10 years old … hybrid battery still ok. May not be great but it’s ok. A replacement set is affordable too.
My son has a 2014 Fusion with basically the same system. It might not be as good or whatever but it's a hybrid.
No start/stop on a hybrid car
Huh? Do you mean stopping engine at a temporary stop, such as traffic lights? Yes, they do. Or did I misunderstand you?
The Toyota Prius doesn't run the gasoline engine all the time and I am sure the Honda doesn't either. Otherwise it wouldn't average 46MPG. That means it probably will get 54-55 MPG HI way only. Our 2007 Prius matched that mileage number almost exactly. I got 54 MPG hiway driving Ga to FL 285 miles one way driving 65-75 MPH.
@@hollisrogers599 My Prius, which is a 2013, runs the engine all the time it needs to deliver torque. Yes, the engine stops when the vehicle is at a halt, but the electrical torque delivery systems is only able to run the vehicle at less than about 12 mph, and for no more tan about a quarter of a mile, maybe a half. The engine starts again as soon as I pull away. The mileage you get, as do I, isn't a function of intermittent operation of the engine in a regular hybrid; it's a function of a) the aerodynamic shape, b) the low rolling friction tires, and c) the energy recovery system of the hybrid system. In contrast to the Prius, my 2021 Honda Clarity, which is a plug-in hybrid with a much more powerful electrical powertrain (same as the hybrid Accord discussed here, except for a 1500cc engine rather than the 2L engine of the Accord, but a much bigger battery) can run easily at 80 mph and go for 45 miles (though not necessarily at the same time) from a full charge in full EV mode.
Scotty did you buy a trump bible and golden sneakers?
I have a new Honda Hybrid Touring in dark blue metallic. Very nice looking, great gas mileage and quickly gets up to highway speed. It’s perfect!
Which one would u recommend a regular Toyota Prius or a prime and why?
I bailed on Honda in 2014 when they put the CVT in it. Don't want a turbo either.
The introduction of the earth dreams 1.5 turbo engine with oil dilution problems was the end of Honda's reliability 🗑️
Turbo is okay....CVT.....is the worse....
@@lazynow1 To me, a turbo is just one more thing that can break when the car starts getting a lot of miles on it.
The new Accord Hybrids have neither.
@@stevehoppenjan It has a CVT
still not impressed-small cars in the 90's can get 40ish mpg(automatics) with better trans gearing.
But those cars don't have all the safety and tech stuff and comfort of the newer cars.
This is a midsize car getting 46 Miles to the gallon. What more do you need to be impressed?
The Prius Prime is a plug in hybrid and it gets 110+ mpg.
@@timmy-wj2hc Prius is not a midsize car.

Depending on the area, the hybrid motor may be greener than grid power.
